омг я посмотрел этот фильм! я только сейчас понял стенное значение слова бред=) фильм великолепный советую всем вы сможете проникнуться тем чувством страха которое испытывала съемочная группа к СССР.... в самом начале фильма показывают как советские танкисты с помощью газа огнеметов ядов и авиации уничтожают афганскую деревушку домов в 10 ..... спс поржал...

@triumph1974 There suppose to be 4 crew members of that tank (Driver, Gunner, Loader, Commander). The 5th person in the movie is an Afgan officer that is a Observer. Maybe in training to command a tank for the Afgan military!

All that for a missfire ? I think not ! The breachblock closed and locked so the round seated correctly. The tank wouldn't have blown up, the could have gone off by it's self and the gun would funtion normaly, ejecting the spent caseing. Or they could just have unlaoded it and thrown the shell out. Hollywood realy needs to start getting shit right ....

This happened to my Dad in WW II while in the Philippine Islands, except with a 155mm howitzer. They pulled the lanyard and....nothing. He said that they all ran like mad, but it never did blow up.

When I first time seen this movie, it was one of the first about war in afghanistan, it was in french and had some scenes cut off (good work of our regiment's comissar lol), we didn't understand anything what they are talking about, but think that tank commander and crew are heroes and fighting to the last man. How suck it was when I found it with russian subtitles and understood that they are just traitors!

One of the cool things about this film is that, since we're supposed to identify with the Soviet tankers, they speak unaccented English (like we're understanding Russian), but the Mujahadin all speak Pashtun(?) and there are no subtitles when the Soviet crewman is near them.
