great talent and he put's so much feeling in to his singing. people have no taste for such talent, and Christians don't know how to glorify God with there singing now day's.
Thank you Roger Olson for these memories of Jack Holcomb, most of which I did not know. He had a very distinctive voice and cannot be copied or replaced. He had an almost haunting tone and each time I come back to this website I'm blessed. Thank you JimQualls for posting all these wonderful memories of a special man. OneKewpie.
Thanx for this posting. I have always loved Jacks singing (The man who sang with a tear in his voice). One of my favorite albums was his last, "Dearest To My Heart." Incidently when he was in the hospital in Detroit my dad (who has been up there with Jack now for almost 10 years) snuck a milkshake up to him. We loved Jack Holcomb.
I love me some great Jack Holcomb singing...he was indeed a man of God,and a great singer. I have several records of his and had one song posted and might bring it back to my show soon.
here in Japan this song is SO popular ... most ppl love it because it "moves them with feelings" -- and many do not realize the full meaning of the lyrics. So, its all the more great when one can share the gospel thru this song! Great images / thx JQ! God bless and keep.
Great video and song Jim. This song always makes the chill bumps break out on me. It is awesome to think about what Jesus did for us. God bless you brother.
Wonderful! Beautiful! Very touching. This man really sang for the glory of God. He wasnt a showman like so many gospel singers today. Yes Gods grace truly is amazing! Salvation by grace paid in full by the blood of the Lord Jseus! Amy that grace motivate us to live holy lives. Thanks bro Jim for posting this great song and the
Hi Aflame, I remember hearing Jack when I was a kid. I was actually at a Jack Shuller Tent Meeting once. It is almost impossible to find information on Jack Shuller, and there are very few places with Info on Jack Holcomb. He certainly didn't sing for his own glory. Like you, I wish the kids today loved this music. I did when I was a kid! I liked Elvis, too, but I didnt' expect to hear Elvis when I went to church.

My mother about 45 years ago had me sing Ship Ahouy at church while in my navy uniform--quite an affective song
