I must ask this, if you are worried about it getting tore up by wind why exactly would you trust it in a "survival" situation when your life could depend on it?
@Set2Survive i understand your skepticism but i have this tent and it works just as it was designed. a stove jack tipi for use in winter/fall and the price is not astronomical....
Respond to this video... this tipi is on ebay right now for 165.00 with free shipping..... compare that to other tents of this nature and it is a good value.
Please DO NOT hang this tent from an overhanging branch using the belt loop at the top unless absolutely necessary for survival. Overhanging branches can be killers.
I was just looking into something like this recently for a backpacking option. Thanks for the link. I wonder if the tarp material will hold up with a stove in it? The price is right, and it looks pretty lightweight. Let us know what you think when you get to use it. Cheers from Canada.
That would be perfect for guerrilla urban camping in the winter; something I'm working on right now. I would really like to know; what is the brand name/manufacturer for that tipi? Come check out my camouflage tarp shelter in my videos!
@GreatDepressionTwo I can relate to where your at brother/ i live in a 1973 20ft camper on my sons place till i can get back on my feet again but want a motor home so i can travel and keep my stuff with me and no banks can take my home frome me
@ernest302 I think the pole used to test this setup was a little short and that is why it was flapping in the wind as much as it was. A tipi being cone shaped is very aerodynamic and a very good performer in high winds.

@Set2Survive the pitch of this tent was not very tight... it can be pitched much tighter and the wind will go right over it due to the conical shape.

@whambasted I understand the geometric function, I was referring to the material. Looks like a harbor freight special.

Sounds a lil too noisey to get a good nights sleep in if windy or raining.

If you think the wind is going to rip it apart it cant be that good in a survival state
