  • he can't put his soul into his playing...he already sold it to the devil...

    amazing player, anyway... :D

  • Or maybe im just a crazy weirdo, LOL...

  • This song passes a lot of emotion to me, makes me think of the wrath of ancient evil gods, the WTEAW version in particular, sounds like a soundtrack of a cataclysm or the apocalypse, with lightning over a black sky. Thing is, yngwie's music its not for everyone, and people feel the need to justify their stupidity and lack of taste by saying this has no soul or emotion.

  • Sick! I remember downloading this off of Kazaa!!!

  • I hate retards who think all fast solos have no emotion and feeling. Ever think to wonder that the guitarist is trying to show adrenaline and power into his solo by speeding it up(shredding). If im full of adrenaline im not going to play something that's one beat per minute.

  • Fast but no soul.

  • @Nitrosetheprodigy So what, this song can't stand by its own without the so called 'soul'. He's amazing, period. :)

  • im sorry. but i cannot stand this guy. he has ZERO amount of feel in any of his playing. he just needs to slow down and be more melodic. anyone can play ridiculous-ass fast in the same 2-3 scales all the time...

  • @DVGuitar101

Obviously, you know NOTHING about him or his songs.

So I will kindly ask you to get the hell out of here and never post on an YJM video again.

    Good day to you, sir.

  • @Darkdead95 obviously you have an extreme bias towards him, in truth yes he has skill and speed but he truly has no heart in his music, its all just show...

  • @TheseEyesSeeNothing

Just because you can't comprehend emotion in this from it doesn't mean it has none.

  • @Darkdead95 true but the opposite can also be very true...

  • @DVGuitar101 "anyone can play ridiculous-ass fast in the same 2-3 scales all the time... ". Lol just read the line. You're indirectly just bowing down to the superiority of Mr. Malmsteen. Even though you won't admit it. :D

  • the difference between hendrix and this guy

is that yngwie jerks off with a guitar

    jimi makes love to it

music is not a competition just enjoy it

  • it dont matter if you play fast,, its all about feeling,, and jimmy shock the world whit he's emotions

  • Wasn't that Capric Di Diablo? NO! Red Devil! Well he plays very good but to me everything he does sounds the same.

  • I love this guy :)

  • How you judge Yngwie is base on your own preference.

But you gotta understand that is Yngwie's style.. he plays the way he likes it....

Better than Justin Bieber who follows the market demands... there is no musical-value in him..

    what say you?

  • ill be honest, while his playing is impressive, ill admit that. the song he plays, however, couldve been better :/

  • oh he makes it look so easy :D

  • ya he sounds good but un pllug him or put him on clean and then u could hear all of his mistakes him missing strings

it has no emotion to it

  • @distotedyouth lol he's a very clean player...listen to him play any acoustic guitar...it just gets so repetitive is the only issue

  • @stewie9793 very true and i wasnt talking so much about yngwie but alot of players just distort and do so much to the sound to the point where to could slap the strings and make it sound good

  • Ywhingy Embalmsteen .

  • how do he gets that cool sound of his guitar

  • Yngwie Rules! eat shit Paganini :D

  • I can play this!... on vocals

  • @ghostrider655 "bloop" ftw (the noise you make when you vocally sweep >_> lol)

  • Malmsteen is god.

  • ya know what all i see is a bunch of arguing flame! Let me say this....this guy is good. Jimmy Hendrix is also good. they are both good because they both focus on making the best of their music, even if they are on different levels. congrats. THE END

    :D

  • Why do people always chose to compare guitarists? Hendrix never tried to be better than anybody. He just was. He was more of a pioneer than anything. And why bring Nirvana into this? Kurt might not be the greatest guitarist but I rather listen to a good musician than a good guitarist.

  • Some card carrying Nirvana fan bad raps this master, who owns his instrument. It's laughable that infantile minds today need to compare apples to oranges with the conviction of a nuclear physicist. And ... nobody really knows the off stage personalities of a lot of entertainers, to single this man out is arrogant naivete. Grow up.

  • @eturkreenz i enjoy nirvana. it is good. i feel more soul in it than malmsteen. that doesnt mean i think malmsteen isnt one of the best guitarists ever, because he is.

  • That's fucking badass!!! Siguele guey si sabes tocar bien!!!!

  • ah boring, these arpeggios have that old feeling to them they sound awful to my ears, good try too ahh for me tho! ^_^

  • lol,, i met yngwie at a record shop in 1985 when he was still a kid,, i was younger than him so he looked big to me but remembering back he was just a young boy compared to my current 37 yrs. he basically has the same attitude since then like yeah 'im the shit' which more or less could be true but its unbefitting of a 40+

  • He's incredible, but hes one of the biggest assholes to walk the neo classical scene.. I like Yngwie the player, not Yngwie the person.

  • @Obstain001 - I agree, saw him a couple years ago at the international guitar show in Dallas, he was so arrogant I couldnt stand it, and all his stuff sounds the same!

  • Either the video is out of sync, or his left hand is so tight that it doesnt look like he's even playing half the stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • @JamesGod08 its his scalloped guitar he just presses the note hard and can get like 2 more notes out of it

  • Damn. You can hear where Loomis gets his sound. This man is a god among Gods.

  • this is insane !! love it

  • i can play the intro :D

  • can't stop wathcing

  • Electric drum kit fits this shity sound so well.

  • holy shit....amazing

  • WOW....Malmsteen RULEZ

  • It's a monster!!!!!!!

  • sic!!

  • oh... nearly forgot... try getting a scalloped neck... that should make it a lil better too if ur goin for that sound.

  • i know for a fact that Yngwie uses reverb (not sure on the exact delay) and some wah... it sometimes sounds like hes using a lil phasing but dont quote me on that.

  • that shit is crazy

  • i love Arpeggios

  • Like to know What effects can I use to get that sound and long sustains. I hear some delay, compression, but what else? Does anyone know? And can you share your settings? THX!

  • reverb and delay is all u need bro

  • Nope! Nothing of this! You need skills, that's all!

  • Yay Arpeggioes

  • this is to awesome baby!

  • Strats DO have a lot of out-dated design flaws, yet Malmsteen still seems to make them work.

  • he was born with some talent--thats for sure--i heard his whole family are musicians--and very good ones at that

  • I heard his was father was Jimmy Page and his mother, a fretboard...

  • @KekiEscobar305 dude, I heard his momma was mother teresa, how else the magic?

  • wow nice sound probly a american fender not a cheap one

  • its his custom strat, it has scalloped frets

  • obviously its american, this guy aint gonna use cheap crap

  • Yngwie Malmsteen is, simply, the culmination of everyone who came before him and the standard-setting prototype for all who would follow. AMAZING. Every axe slinger who's picked up a Fender Strat in the last 25 years has dreamed of playing like this guy.

  • @Melidian1 not me, dont make such sweeping {pardon the pun} statements ...sorry , great player ,yes , but lead wise - i hear everything in the first 30 seconds - after that its repetition . No such thing as best .

  • hendrix is god Malmsteen is king

  • sorry hendrix is good but nothing compared to this video

  • Hendrix had feeling.. This is just shredding.. There's a great difference between good guitar playing and good music.

  • ppl also like shredding you know :p

  • you dont find this bad ass??? come on!!

  • i'd rather listen to a combination of the too. yngwie does that.

  • @nex88 lol in his time hendrix was probably considered to be just wankery by some people.

  • @dickman42. Hendrix was a better musician than Malmsteen. Malmsteen just plays fast. He doesn't even sing and play cause he's not coordinated enough nor talented enough to sing and play at the same time. He's a joke. He's all about show and he pisses me off cause he tries to motive kids to his way of playing. It's not about speed. It's about music.

  • @GuitarHeroPhenomSux you are a fucking idiot. you contradict yourself by comparing guitarists, then claim a man is not talented because he can only be great at one thing. when you tour the world, and are the envy of millions, then you can open yopur mouth. untill then your mouth is nothing more than a cock docking station. and for what its worth, hendrix and cobain, while talented, relied heavily on drugs for creation.

  • @qbkiller62, Ooh looks like I struck a nerve. I'm shocked this guy even has fans. Goes to show how much people know about music. I've been playing guitar and studying music for years. I'm sure I'm more than qualified enough to evaluate this guy. I don't have to tour the world and make millions like you said. Which this guy doesn't even do. Just cause he can play really fast doesn't make him a good musician. He doesn't even write songs. Cause he sucks and can only do arpeggios. Learn music.

  • @GuitarHeroPhenomSux Malmsteen can play and sing moreover there is a vid of him playing a hendrix song and singing it. Also id like to know how hendrix is a better musician as all he played was glorified pentatonic blues whereas malmsteen can play mad neo-classical in every mode. and he's fast on top of that.

  • @Welcometothebrothel2, Hendrix knew music. He wrote about things people felt and things that affected people. So, what if he played blues scales? He pioneered that. It was new at the time. That's what music is. It comes from heart; not the fingers. Malmsteen just sits in a chair and practices arpeggios all day. He tries to play fast as if he's in a race. He couldn't write a ground breaking song if he tried.

  • @GuitarHeroPhenomSux Yngwie's music comes from the heart as well. People identify with his style as equally as you apparently do with Hendrix. I get as much feeling listening to "Caprici Di Diablo" as I do "Voodoo Child". music is subjective; quit trying to pidgeonhole Yngwie as a soulless wanker when you just don't like the music. btw, he did write a groundbreaking song; it's called "Black Star" and inspired countless guitarists to focus on technique. There's more to soulful music than vibrato

  • @c4bb4g3 Yep. The combination of vibrato and various other fingering/picking techniques combined in a way to inspire various moods within the player and listener.

You can think there's more to it, but really past that you're simply believing in magic.

  • @dickman42 thats because hendrixs music had soul this shit has none

  • @dickman42 completely different types of music. im sure they both could play eachothers shit if they wanted. there were three huge guitar movements. hendrix, then came vanhalen, and then malmsteen. so theyre both regarded as endless influential so i dont really think it matters whose better

  • @dickman42 Hendrix doesn't be interested by this kinda guitar playing. That was the reason that he is the greatest guitarist of all time. 50 percent less notes 200 percent more heart.

  • @dickman42 Hendrix was a more artfull musician. This guy is a great technical player but the songs kinda suck

  • @dickman42 Jimi Hendrix was one of his role models when he started playing guitar.......................

  • Ill admit, im an avid fender hater, but this guy sure knows how to rock one :3

  • 

  • Malmsteen. God of the neck pickup

  • It's a programmed drum machine.

  • Malmsteen. God of the neck pickup.

  • I like the guitar but i dont like the drum part its too slow to go with what he's playing cuz its playing a double kick rythm which you simply do not play at a slow bpm so the way thjis is done is yngwie is playing fast notation at a low tempo or the drummer is playing slow notes at a fast tempo but either way it doesn't sound quite right to me but it's probably cuz im a drummer not a guitarist

  • yeah it's just triplets at a pretty low speed. i could probably play the whole drum part minus some fills/

  • Theres NO RULES in Music u ASS<< You should Simply Not Make anymore Commets or Realize ur Making a Box 4 urself by Setting Rules 4 Music<<

  • i wasnt saying there are rules i was saying that the drum line doesnt fit the guitar part greatly because it's really awkward to play it.

  • you have to be a complete fool to think that this is fake. if you still think its fake, then smack your face with a brick cuz u just got pwned

  • it's not a fake

  • obviously. Ev nwhen I point out the sarcasm.

  • Yngwie plays a modified fender stratocaster with custom single coil pickups which are high output, which means he can churn out raw power

  • Criswiththeguitar. Dude ... are you for real? What is really so predictable ... is your bombastic delusional mind! Good grief.

  • This man, as we all well know, is quite literally God.

  • not a big fan of his style

i prefer math rock and mathcore shredding

    but

this is pretty impressive skill wise

    but not that creative

    and

    like criswithaguitar stated

    predictable

  • somiglia tanto a boldi con la parrucca!!resta cmq magico!

  • cyanide533 your gay he can do better shit than u u ass

  • I neither gay nor ass but you are because youre swearing for no good reason. I stated my personal opinion that i wasnt impressed but this doesnt mean that i dissed him and youre a fool to compare a professional guitarist with a hobbyist like me. Develop your brain.

  • Reminds me of far beyond the sun....

  • and caprici di diablo, lol

  • not impressive

  • dude he is better than most guitar players you got to give him that

  • well he is good technically but it is not necessary for a musician to impress every single individual.

  • he's so predictable

  • i agree, boring, ...steve morse is much more melodic, talented

  • Jason Becker Kick his ass!! well, he used to

  • Probably still does ;)

  • LA TIA SONIA

  • jimi hendrix eat your heart out

  • Man i love this guy his amazing

  • eat more butter

  • lard is great to eat!

  • thing is he had a kid like 10 years ago and hes probably had more pussy than u ever will

  • lol

  • @FATTayamee It was adopted, virgin.

  • I don't understand any of the arguing - it's Yngwie! Enough said!

  • Uugh! Chords are easy, so playing each note alone should be just as easy....Ahhh..damn...@@#!$^$@!....my fingers hurt!

  • SALUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol I love all the shit-talkers that havent even accomplished 10% of what malmsteen has.

  • gige me ur sweedish cheesecake's recepies

  • lmMFao!!!!!!!!!!!! lol !!!!

  • hes is 100% swe nor or den can pronouce english...

  • he's funny hes just like "I SHRED"

  • Do I really care about If somebody's fat if he plays guitar this way^^..fools oO

  • that shits gnarly =O

  • Whos cares if hes fat... he can play guitar better than all you crying bitches.

  • I don't care that he's fat... It's really the fact that it looks like he has eye liner on lol. But his guitar skills nullify that...

  • Arpeggios from Burger King. Im sure he is a frequent visitor.

  • He isn't even that fat..

He has a little chub, but he isn't fat.

    Learn to tell the difference.

  • WOAH HE'S FUCKING FAT

  • Dude, i'm a guy and yes, he's fat. scared the shit out of me too.

  • ok hes kinda fat, but not FUCKING FAT. and lol i know your not a girl, i was meaning how girls always say there fat when they like have no excess fat on there body at all haha.

  • I saw him in Barcelona, he made lots of mistakes, but he's a guitar god!

  • its the drugs...lol

    there all on them :P

  • hahah StanleyKu youre so right, thats why most of my favourite neo classical shredders always give Yngwie props, I have nothing but total respect for this guy regardless of his ego.

  • OOOOOO__OOOOOO

  • whoah...is that a strat hes playing??

  • stratocaster

  • strat=short for stratocaster , dumb fuck

  • are you retarded

  • i have one too, strat is a abreviation

  • type in fender strat on wikipedia, and read the first sentence

  • I fucking lol'd hard.

  • lmao dude my 3 year old cousing even knew a start is short fom for stratocaster man how retarded can you be? you make allen from the hang over look like albert instine or w.e hes name is..

  • You see, my problem is not that I am retarded, but the problem is, and the reason why I entered this argument is that in every single guitar shop in my town, strats and stratocasters are being sold as different models, with different prices. That's where my opinion that those are different guitars came of. And I went to Wikipedia, and read that Strat was short for Stratocaster. That surprised me quite a lot. What can I say? I accept my defeat in this argument lol. Every day something new for me.

  • It's the Yngwie Malmsteen Fender Stratocaster... It have deeper buttons... Or i don't know why i have to say, i'm italian xD

  • you mean the scalloped fretboard?

  • yes

  • Masterpiece.Yeah he's got tons of talent is that what you mean.I hope you play your guitar and amps in the bath jerquin off.If your not dead already as a life force.

  • yeah and his from sweden to i love being swedish some times

  • Yeah Yngwie rocks!!!!

Is it me though or has he turned into a fat bastard?......oh.....it's me!

  • i hope he gets strangled with a E string one day

  • michael angelo batio is way funnier

  • considering he went largely uncredited for his influence, I would say he is underrated.

  • If you were even semi-conscious in the mid to late 80's you would know that there were a whole slew of guitarists jumping on the neo-classical bandwagon and marketing themselves the same way Yngwie did, and somehow claiming they never heard of him.

  • you know he also plays shit on his acoustic as well you fuckin' uneducated moron read up before you attack some1 I'd like to see you try to do Arpeggios from hell up to speed with him

  • Well, then I guess he's also given us acoustic drivel; by the way, I am somewhat of a jazz purist, so forgive me. I just can't stand the lack of profundity that malmsteen espouses so much.

  • Well in that sense I can see where you are coming from but the fact is talent is talent and alot of his songs are the same thing over and over but still when you're that talent it doesn't matter. And besides abstract jazz sucks lol,but fusion kicks ass

  • you big dummies giving all of these props....

if you look closely at the video, you can see that he's not really playing this live. he's doing the equivalent of a Britney Spears lip-synching routine! And don't try to use audio/video synchronization as an excuse. The video's in synch when he's talking but not when he's playing.

I'll give him props though, go Millie Vanilli Malmsteen!

  • Dude, you really must not know who Yngwie Malmsteen is. I don't see what you're talking about with him not playing this live. But trust me he has no need to play a "lipsynching" version of anything. Please just search Yngwie Malmsteen live to see one of his concerts on here. He truly is a guitar god.
