  • great story. Was this a video response to something? What was the original video?

  • Yes but that person has closed his account now

  • Also, why do "ghosts" all seem to wear clothes? If I burn up a milk carton, will I be haunted by the ghost of the milk carton?

  • Eyedunno,

There sometimes seem to be phantom objects during poltergeist activities. Some people would say these ghostly objects are other dimensional objects, not ghosts. As for clothes.....I have no idea. In residual hauntings some might argue the ghosts are some sort of recording replaying, recorded and replayed in a way we don't understand- also, if they are just psychically picked up glimpses of the past, that would also explain clothes. Clothes on intelligent hauntings, is a diff. matter

  • Clothes on intelligent hauntings- ghosts being energy, I assume energy could take different forms & shapes, so perhaps part of them forms into clothing shape because of their desire or memory. Ex. Many people are too modest to want everyone to see them naked. There is a belief that we put energy into everything we touch, as well, so people would give off energy into their clothes if this is true- in some cases, maybe it's not the clothing's "soul," but collective energy from those who touched em

  • Why does everybody seem to see "ghosts" out of their peripheral vision, the part of our vision that's most vulnerable to ultrasound and temporal lobe interference? The story doesn't surprise me at all, and it's clear from the way you tell it that you didn't see it clearly (which is why you confused it with your mother before you realized she was in the other room) and your mother's description may have filled in the details in your mind (coalescing into memory).

  • Whoops, meant to say "infrasound."

  • Eyedunno,

to the peripheral comment: While it's prob. true to say more people see things out of the corner of their eye (ex. unexplained shapes) there are many examples of people seeing ghosts straight on. Also, if it's more than just a glimpse of a ghost that a person gets- which isn't unheard of- then even when spotted out of side view, one would have time to turn around and inspect it. You say that it seems everyone sees ghosts from the peripheral view, but everyone is a gross overstatement.

  • Of course it's an overstatement. It's less of an overstatement to say that ghosts are almost always "seen" under less-than-perfect optical conditions though (not only in peripheral vision, but in low light, in fog, or when vision is clouded due to intoxication or sleepiness).

And I feel comfortable generalizing that "ghost" experiences are not reproducible under laboratory conditions.

  • fair!! u believe or you don't.

  • We we ever truly know?

  • Your story is very interesting

  • thanks, it is true.

  • stop smoking hidro pal.

  • Thanks for sharing the story! I think it be awesome if people stop hiding and everyone come out and share there stories and it is happening already, so cool! You're like the 5th person on youtube who I saw who is sharing something interesting. I had some experiences my self, might share em' if I get a cam. Subscribed.

  • Thanks BA7, Yes it is good when any kind of hidden knowledge is shared. Thanks for subscribing. Please do get a camera and share your stories too. That is what makes YouTube so great. Everyone, who wants to, can take part.

  • denial is a powerful tool of an analytical mind... i enjoyed the story

  • As Mark Twain said, "Denial is not just a river in Egypt".

  • Richard, I wanted to thank you for your video response. What a great "ghost" story. When I was younger I'd thought it was something otherworldly, but these days I look for a more scientific explanation. I like the light theory. Seems feasible.

You have a knack for telling these stories. I'd love to hear another...

  • Thanks Gr8. You had a good idea about asking for the stories. I have some more to tell. I learned to tell stories from some real masters. Listening to ghost stories was an enjoyed passtime in my childhood days before the advent of TV. One told by my Dad just came to mind as I was typing this.

  • Fascinating story messabout1. What intrigues me about any ghost story is why see ghosts wearing clothes? Clothes don't die...personally I have seen something similar when I was a kid (with several other friends) but what are we seeing???

  • You know I thought about that question a good bit. We know that light travels over greta distances for long periods of time, ie light from now dead stars. Maybe these images, with clothes, are somehow light transmissions of long passed objects or people.

  • Thats an interesting idea. My partner suggests something about 'the Stone Tape theory' which basically states that buildings/locations hold some kind of recording (something to with energy) that gets played back occasionaly. That explains why Ghosts seem to walk through walls where doors used to be and also seem to be unaware of anyone watching them do it...She could probally explain better than I could...LOL d;-)

  • It is enjoyable to think about things like this. We've all heard the saying, "in the minds eye". I think that, "minds eye" is more powerful and able than any of us realize. Once an image is entered into the brain via the eyw or in other ways, who's to say what is real and what is not?

  • It's a glitch in the matrix.

  • lol.

  • Are you suggesting a distortion of time warp?

  • Somthing like that yeah. Maybe it has somthing to do with light memory being stored in space time. It would seem light would have somthing to with it, since you are seeing a person with clothes just as you would see them in real life.

Light travels, therefore we see objects. The speed of light my play a factor. Or maybe different planes of existence are temporarily crossing paaths.

    *Who knows...my brain hurts.

  • Then I guess "shadow people" are those images whose light level is wearing thin.

  • Very good question. Seeing how everything in the Universe has energy, perhaps when we see clothes on a spirit or ghost (which ever you prefer) it is due to the person having had a particular conection with them in life and so that energy stays with the ghost after death. The clothes "die" with them.

  • Or perhaps a ghost is a projection of a person, a tiny amount of energy that remains behind after the person's soul has moved on. Maybe that's why we don't see them very often or, for the most part, a long period of time when we do see them. Who knows. There are many explainations. Good question.

  • Oh my goodness!

  • Yes, as my Grandmother would say, "Lordy Mercy".

  • Thanks for sharing your story.

  • You are welcome, my pleasure

  • This is a Master Story Teller. Thanks for sharing, Bev

  • What a great comment Bev. "Master Story Teller", I like the sound of that;-) Glad you enjoy my meager offerings.

  • what are the other four things?

  • If I get in the mood, I'll tell the other four later, but not tonight.

  • Hmmm, very interesting. Your videos are becoming very suspenseful! I can't wait for the next chapter in "Unexplained". Thanks!

  • One runs a risk when telling things like this, of being labled a "crackpot". That's one explanation of trying to explain the unexplained;-)

  • wow, thats amazing... i cant really believe this story because i havent seen it but that is amazing.

  • As they say in the South, "If I'm lying, I'm dying". It is completely true, just unexplained.

  • You say you can't believe it because you haven't seen it . . . have you ever seen any air kev?

  • Good story. I don't think we will ever have all the answers... not while we are still living at least.
