  • Is Casablanca popular with Iranians?

I know that when the movie was first shown in Trinidad, the audience pointed at Bogart and shouted "That is man! That is man!" Men in Port of Spain adopted Bogart "mannerisms" as a result of the movie.

Has Casablanca (or for that matter, any Bogart movie) had a similar impact upon Iranians?

  • @AchillesShield

maybe Yes ! , It is a reason for Casablanca popularity in iran. but I think they also like it's beautiful story. 60% of Iranian are between 16-35 year old and these people love romantic . Casablanca has a very good dubbing here and Ingrid Bergman is popular here , too .I must add that here the Government TV and Cinema salons can't show such movies , so people watch these movies on DVD or Internet only !

  • nice, very nice, cheers for Mr. Golpayegani

  • I mean Who, singing this amazing song ?

  • He's AKBAR GOLPAYEGANI (GOLPA) - Pre-revolution singer. you can see his works on right bar.

  • Aha, okey thanks...:D

  • How is singing this amazing song, he's voice is so lovley!!!

  • He has a beautiful voice and he popularized the Iranian traditional music with his amazing and wonderful voice. Another casualty of repressive Islamic republic policy towards the artists, this vapasgerh regime either exiled or banished a large number of artists from Iran. Golpa was deprived to sing for more than two decades and spent most of his artistic life in exile. His song was used by the Great Italian Director Pasolini during the 70s. Job well-done it is good see such a talented Iranians
