  • sounds interesting, but... its too panoramic. and imposible to follow :( i wish a second display...

  • thanks for the tips :)

  • I am new at the ubuntu stuff and sure found your video a good source of information but I wasn't able to follow you.....#1 move your camera to record what's on the screen not the side of your head. it would be even greater enjoyment if you slowed down and actually expailned HOW to install the NVIDIA software and use it. Thanks.

  • I need help about nvidia driver. What is the best nvidia driver for ubuntu. I can't setup my dual monitors. I got BenQ 22" and Samsung 17". Someone help please.

  • @stefan161190 Thats a tough one... what Nvidia card do you have? Is it an expansion card, or built onto the motherboard?

  • can I know how to network ubuntu 10.04 to other OS like Mac OS,Windows,&SOLARIS..?

  • @777tyn Sure - there are a few different scenarios: If you have a Windows share, go to your linux machine, press ALT+F2 - type: smb://(server) and you should be asked for credentials etc...

  • I wanted to run ubuntu on my laptop but i have no idea how to install wireless.

I have a realtek RTL8191SE wireless card in my toshiba l450-188 laptop

    Any help would be apprectiated.

  • @sillychicken599 Glad to hear you want to try it out - I would suggest joining our live chat and asking in there since we have a few really good Linux people who like to help. Advcomp2019 is one of them who helps a lot of people with the wireless and Linux. See the video comments for the link to our live chat.

  • @PCAddictsLive thanks very much. i did have it on a desktop and it worked fine since i didnt need wireless. i will stop by the chat now :)

  • @sillychicken599 If you haven't found out already here are a few things (it may sound stupid) but firstly make sure the wifi is turned on, i had that problem when i did it, also the problem is you need to make the driver active, to do that you need to download it, but the only way i know to do that is to plug an Ethernet cable in and download it that way, go to "system-administration-hardware drivers" it should be there, i would recommend getting the latest updates "system-admin-update manager)

  • do you know how i can fix this?

  • sudo is one of my bad habits too lol

  • Don't sudo gedit!!!!!

    code:

    'gksu gedit'

  • @TheAluengas I found with a lot of things, just typing sudo ... would work fine... I do realize the proper way is gksu though, just a bad habit I got into.

  • What kind of screencasting software did you use for this Ubuntu platform?

  • @marquesbrownlee Its called: recordmydesktop

  • @PCAddictsLive Gotcha. Thanks.

  • I installed Ubuntu on my Macbook Pro notebook virtually. But for some reason under my Appearance settings I can't select "extra" under visual effects. I get an error of: Desktop effects could not be enabled. How do I get those drivers?

  • @israelda1 Maybe the wrong driver? Do you still need help with this?

  • @PCAddictsLive I reinstalled on the windows partition in VMware & downloaded a lot of drivers, now everything is all good. Thanks!

  • @israelda1 Awesome! Thanks for the update!

  • Nice video Chris I wish you could get less black space on the top and bottom.

  • @Ninesvnsicks Thanks man. Yeah, I probably shouldn't record the entire desktop - or like in PART 2 - use the zoom feature more.

  • Coincidentally, the time of the video is 9:04 :P
