I saw this film. In my opinion, it just seems like a repeat of the usual drivel processed out of the Hollywood industry. For families, yeah it's alright. But if you want a film that's good on it's own, you can find stuff far more original.

I heard the producers are planning a sequel to this film.

Heh, and why shouldn't they? This became a classic in such a short amount of time. I myself wouldn't be surprised if they included a love interest for Gru in the second adaptation. One would think he deserves a lover after all.
