They're still an exception. Monogamous species are very rare in the animal kingdom. And let me remind you this... they don't "force themselves not to mate with others". They don't even have the desires (these monogamous species).

The human species isn't one of them. Of all the thousands of cultures that have existed in human history, only a dozen or so have promoted monogamy, and only for the past few centuries.

There is somethig called love when you really love someone nobody else maters you don't even see other people they might as well not be there and you wouldn't have desire to cheat on them. Obviously cheaters either don't love there partner anymore or didn't in the first place. If it is the first option then they should just break up with the person and save them further heartache. If you are ACTUALLY in love with somebody you wouldn't even think about cheating on them...

I agree, however note the following... Its only cheating when you're both monogamous.

Cheating = breaking the rules.

If however, you're in a polygamous arrangement, then having sex with others comes with other rules.

The reason you can't cheat is because you have integrity, right?

Actually it has to deal with evolution more than anything. For a male, reproduction can be a 5 minute procedure. For a female, it is at least 9 months. Females need a companion who will help them throughout those 9 months, and that is why they are more connected/worried about how much their spouse cares for them. The differences in males and females when it comes to love is incompatible when it comes right down to it. Both sides need to understand that.
