  • It seems to be a common thing between everyone that this Game Sampler CD was amazing. I've just been searching for Death Drome because I absolutely loved that game back when I was younger. Damn that intro cinematic is still awesome. :D

  • THIS is what i've been searching for, for so long now! Thank you!

    So many memories!

  • @Monrteincarnata I was watching Tron today and the "light bikes" reminded me of the bike game that was on this disc and i had to play it one more time

  • @SAMUVILLIAN DeathDrome! That is one cool game man!

  • Oh man, this is awesome. War Wind, Captain Quazar, The Neverhood, Fire Fight, Road Rash, Diablo... memories.

  • cool graphics for that time

  • You're a star dude, I'm going to try out those links, been looking for these for ages =D Cheers! I played 'em all!

  • ARGHHHHHHHH I LOVED THIS. I never thought i'd see it again! Thankyou. Brings back memories. I played Free Enterprise, War Wind, Fire Fight, Road Rash, Neverhood, Diablo and Captain Quazar. The others ones refused to work.

  • Oh man, this was like my favorite sampler. Never could beat that Captain Quasar demo. I still have this disk, but it's badly damaged and inoperable. I never liked how the station announcer referred to DOS games as "inferior" though.

def95, I think you're thinking of Time Commando.

  • what was the name of this CD?

  • There was one game where you flew a Tu(-27 I believe), I could never get that damn thing to fly at all. So all I did was change views and listen to the beeping sounds

  • Yo, this brings a nostalgia rush like you wouldnt believe... back in russia when my family couldnt afford to buy any PC games or consoles id play this thing we got for free with a computer.... good times.

  • @SSJkiller When I was younger I had some limitations as well, so I kept playing these demo CDs for years! Of course now I can download most of these games from abandonware sites, but I kind of miss the magic of those times when you had to buy a magazine just to play demos of actual games. I even miss having to manually configure the sound card for the older DOS games...

  • @MorteIncarnata

I feel you, man... my favorite was deathdrome.

  • @SSJkiller Yeah that game was awesome! I tried downloading it from an abandonware site but I couldn't get it to work under XP. Actually, is worked, but without sounds. Too bad. I want to try again under Windows98 with VMWare.

  • @SSJkiller for me, definitely Return Fire and Havoc. I couldn't get Havoc to play on my Windows XP computer though :(

  • Well i remember this disk and i remember a game i think it was by viacom

    and your like time travling

and theres one part your killing people in the wild wild west

anyone remember what the name iS?

  • OMG is this CGI!? It looks REAL!

  • @Ortheos2006 IT'S AMAZIN' WAT THEY CAN DO WIT COMPUTERS NOWADAYS.

  • lol windows 95 FTW

  • there was some song on it, it had several songs and stars going by, but the line "Going safely, and leave some of the happiness you find""" was in it, do you have any idea what that was called?

  • It was called Manhattan Space Station - Odyssey: Redocked

PM me for link to download the disc!!!

  • Do you know the game of the game where you controlled this guy you jumped around platforms shot enemies etc I dont remember too much about it but I so wanna find it so badly. I miss my copy of this demo disk >.<

  • Does anyone know the name of the game on that disc where it was played out on a board and you controlled a cube with different colours on each side? It had quite exotic music, for want of a better term.

  • @McShambles EndorFun! I'm posting so many times but I don't care :D

  • I really would like to see this demo cd! I already own original copy of the odyssey demo cd which includes: return fire, doom95, ice & fire etc...

I am especially interested about the "Doom-like 3D menu" in this cd.

If any of you have this cd around, please upload it! It would awesome!

  • Wow I had one of these demo disks a while ago...the intro was slightly different though.

  • This, retro-tech enthusiasts, is WIndows 95 nostalgia in its most explosive.

Sorry about you losing the Games Sampler 2 CD - you planning on recovering it and show us a demo of the alien ship?

  • Any chance you've got the midis that came on the disk that play back while you're on the station?

    Odyssey.midi or something like that...

  • Can't believe this is actually on here. I was just browsing the internet earlier and for some reason this old demo CD came to mind and it was driving me insane cause I couldn't remember the name of it. Anyone have a list of the games that were on it? If I remember correctly the CD art was shiny silvery like the underneath of a CD with splashes of green on it. I might still have it, although I cleaned out a lot of useless discs awhile back. Need to check.

  • Yeeah. Memories..

The intro sequence was little different on my CD.

It was from that CD I first played Doom 95, which was awesome, not to mention Return Fire! etc.

  • dam i remember this from when i wuz young and i wush i had it still

  • That's really sad. I would really like the CD because of the menu music (nostalgia)...

  • So, where can you grab this demo CD today?

  • @Rostere

This utube user has the file

    Noxedwin

  • @Roosenvelt

    Thanks a lot!

  • @Rostere i got this cd laying around :P

  • Hey people if you want this sampler I have good news: I found where to download it! Search A YouTube user called "degradoid" has linked it in his video pages. I'll copy-paste the links in the video description.

its a space stragey were you can build you base build ships and stuff harvest nerbiu stars or astriods idk which

i rember 1 building it was called a acadamy

and 2 units 1 called a battleship and the other a cruiser

  • Mmm, not sure... the description reminds me of Starcraft and Homeworld... but i doubt they were in this disk. Gotta think about it a little more, see if something else comes to my mind.

  • hey man thats prob warwind ur talking about, theres also a warwind 2

  • Theres also another i forgot to mention but u played as a chicken i think thats what he was and it was in a enviroment made out of plasticine does anyone know the name of this one? It doesn't matter about the other one i asked about because i remembered what it was called.

  • That's The Neverhood you're talking about! ;)

  • Lol i remember this it brings back so many memories! I remember playing some real classics on that and i used to play some of them over and over! There was one i can't remember the name of but u controlled these motorbike things and u shot at other ones and at the end of the round a thing called a scrub would kill u if u didn't destroy all the other motorbike things. Does anyone know the name of it?

  • Was that DeathDrome?

  • my god i loved this when i was a kid, playing every demo, ice and fire was my favorite

  • can someone tell me all the games in this demo i liked this cd but i cant find it now i just want to get the game!

  • Hi. I had one of these copies myself, and I've been looking for one of the games... It's some kind of adventure / horror sci-fi with static backgrounds. You start of in a trailor and there's a TV and you click your way around.

    Help very much appriciated. ;)

  • its The Neverhood

  • I also remember another point-and-click adventure game called "Drowned God". It was in first person and I remember your character had strange visions involving grey aliens.

  • do u have the cd?

    im looking for killing time

and im looking for the game where u go in the past and ur in the wild wild west then i think in the past :S

    i dont remember it well

  • Sadly, I lost the CD, anyway Killing Time wasn't in the version I had. I really would like to put my hands on one of these CDs since there were many cool games that now I can't find even in P2P networks or abandonware sites.

  • Thanks a whole bunch! That indeed seems to be the game. I remember how scared I was when I was just a kid, klicking my way through the demo version. Now I just have to find a copy....

  • I think have this CD because I remember this intro... even though my one doesn't contain Diablo or the other games you listed, it contains demos of Return Fire, Battle Beast, Pitfall, Doom 95 and so on...

  • I need your help... Do you know name of a game from the CD... It's a strategy game about four civilizations... One of them are like pigs, Another are like worms.

And The name of a game about a red squirrel.

    Thanks.

  • I think the one with the squirrels is "Hold on your Nuts!"... but I looked it up on google and couldn't find any info on it... so I could be wrong...

The strategy game... I have no idea :| !

  • I'd kill for a copy of it.

The midi that was on the CD was pretty cool.

  • Also, I remember playing Diablo on this CD. If you tried to walk down the stairs, the guy would say "That is forbidden in the demo".

  • Lol yeah I remember that too!

  • I too, had this CD -- and you are correct...Many awesome games. While walking around, you could throw around little radioactive coin icons. Some other games you forget to mention are:

    Monster Truck Madness

Death Drone (I think this is the name... motorcycles with weapons in a timed battle. Prisoners fighting, and the winner gets to be free -- if time runs out, this crazy sweeper comes in and kills you).

I played the Neverhood demo and it creeped me out.

  • I tried the full version of The Neverhood and it's not a scary game, but you're right, the demo was creepy... weird.

  • lol i used to own it to, but i lost it :\

there were hot fucking games in there !

if anybody knows the list of games that where in there msg me plz (:

  • Stay on Target! STAY ON TARGET!!!

  • Unbelievable! I used to own this CD and I've somehow lost it over the years! Say, if you happened to still have yours, can you PM me? I'm giving this video 5 stars for bringing back the memories.

  • Ahahah... Finally, someone who knows this CD! Unfortunately I've lost it too! All I have now is this video which I had copied to my hard disk.
