@brailos Oh gosh... well my contact prescriptions were about -.5.75 and -6.25 I think. And honestly, I'm completely blanking about the name of the doctor and place I got it done. I know it's on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills, and the place the surgery was done was nearby, off of La Cienega I think.
The 3rd day after PRK Laser Eye Surgery is supposed to be the most painful, yet as I awoke this morning---moderate soreness & pain...perhaps everyone has a different pain threshold; Sensitivity to light has certainly increased today. And objects seem to be hyper-layered: Somewhat overlapping & distorted.
I got mine 6 weeks ago, and i still cant see that great. My right eye was swollen for a month and I still am very light sensitive. Just needed to vent lol
@R7300 awwww. well, it should get better. Mine are doing really well. Not as dry as they were before, and I still stare at things in amazement, because I can see them without contacts! So great. anyway... my Dr. said that some people do need to come in for a little more lasering... if yours is still slow healing make sure you don't miss any deadlines for that.
@kendalismyname hopefully i dont need more lasering, i think i would just gouge my eye out lol. My vision seems to be different with every few blinks, did this happen to you at all?
@R7300 I know. I almost passed out after I had mine done. But I'm prone to that. The most painful/uncomfortable part, to me, was the suction thing on my eye. I don't want to know what was going on. I do recall my vision kind of fluctuating... I don't know what causes that. It's better now, though. :-)
@kendalismyname Are you sure you got PRK? You mention suction thing on eye, I think suction thing is used in LASIK procedure, because they need to cut cornea to make a flap, in prk they scrape of surface epithelium cells. So which one was it? Do you remeber something going across the eye like cutting buzzing sound?
@Mario19676 No, I didn't really qualify for LASIK, and I told him there was no way I wanted a flap, anyway. All I remember was a painful suction cup, then they wiped my eyes with something, and then there was a laser with a lovely burning smell. :-) And maybe they put something on my eyes after that, I don't remember. Was just trying not to pass out. :-)
@R7300 I had lasik done 8 months ago, bad nightvisin and lowlight, can't drive at night, not crips as with glasses. And i had -7. The thing is I am seeing now this is very subjective, some people don't mind halved vision after surgery, the quality of it, the y see 20/20, but quality is halved. Some see good in all conditions, seems like random factor in such important surgery on our only pair of eyes.
@Mario19676 that's a shame... :-/ yes, I guess there is risk... I'm sure some day they will be able to do it perfectly, things seem to get better with time, research, etc... as for night vision. I never thought mine was very good and it still doesn't seem good, to me, but I have no idea what other people see. I mean I was under the impression I'd be able to see underwater, but nobody told me that NOBODY can see underwater, until after I had the surgery. :-P
@Mario19676 That sucks man sorry to hear, My main difficulties have gone away now and can see pretty well in my right eye. The right eye still is more dry and is actually over corrected but nothing that is interfering in my everyday life. I wouldn't give up hope yet, things can still heal and improve.
Well you look good and you sound good. Sounds like the cold is gone. How long does it take for the cornea to heal up? What songs are you going to be playing at the recital?
well, cold is still here, but I'm slowly killing it, I guess. I think it'll be a few weeks before it's 100% healed, but I think it's different for everyone. At the recital... St. Louis Blues. :-)
