Nick looks a bit thin there,..Its called Anxiety and depression diet,(been thru it)its why he split from H100.Glad people like him went thru it,It kinda helps others xx
Wow, Abbey Road! The Beatles was there & Nick Heyward too,I really want to go to UK and I'll be want to go to the Abbey Road, Nick is great between greatest!!!
omfg i so forgot bout this song! : ) been working my way through youtube 80s vids - visited Thompson Twins (i used to have such a crush on the lead singer), Howard Jones, and Matthew Wilder. I may have only been about 3 or 4 but heck i was such a fan - esp of our Nick here ;P
i saw him on bands reunited a couple of years ago with justin collins or whatever his name is, i did not believe it was him, he was fat as hell, he must have been on the buns.
Still great in his time and brings back happy memories.
amazing to watch this again. when i was sixteen and nick was in Haircut I was the spitting image of him ND LETS JUST SAY didnt have a problem attracting girls
"80's pop idol" is perhaps the best way to describe him, he really is a bit of a legend to all of us of 'a certain age' because of his work over those few short years.... just great, great stuff to listen to & view again also.
@borealico -played north of a miracle for the first time in years-wow what a gorgeous lp-but still love this song the most-have played a 100 times over..
Amazing track! Nick Heyward never really took off in the USA, 'cept for a couple of minor hits. Either way, KFOG in San Francisco used to play this once in a while, when they were "cool" and tuned into "cool" stuff from across the pond. Love the accordian and add it to the list of pop songs featuring this great sound. Others are "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys, and "How Can I Be Sure" by the Rascals. An amazing instrument to hear on the radio while driving in the car! LOVE IT!
use to listen to this driving round cardiff in my littile mg midget with the roof down thought was cool. man 40 now wish i could go back. thy where the best times and the girls wow remember boob tubes
Great, great song and highly underated songwriter. I swear to god, K.D Lang plagiarised this for "Constant Craving" right down to the Glockenspiel and Accordian.
The first album of Nick Heyward should have sold as many items as the first one of ABC. Maybe it came 2 years too late. But it is a great record with fine arrangements.
I'm glad another musician gets the bass groove in this song it is so laid back and sutile{sp}subtle .Sorry about the spelling but you know what I know you know.Easy pace bass in the right place.
great! that album north of a miracle was a work of utter genius. jazz influenced kick of love wonderful. pictures on gate fold sleeve of foreign lands seemed so glamorous to a teenager looking out at a dreary midlands sky.
His first 2 CDs got rereleased a few years ago with 6 bonus tracks on each, North Of A Miracle has the single Laura on it and Postcards From Home has the 12 inch versions of Love All Day, and Warning Sign, perfect for all Nick Fans, I got North of Amazon for £5 inc postage off a amazon seller and Postcards of Ebay for £5.49 inc postage, 2 of the best CDs of the 80s along with his 3rd CD I love You Avenue, which I got for £3.99 of ebay inc postage cool
Nostalgic video of an era when London was a free city and one could walk around without being spied on by CCTV, confronted by notices telling you what you can't do and have busybodies in hi-vi vests all over the place acting like they are Gods agents telling you where you could and could not go.
i am now 40 and i saw them in concects back when i was a teenager went to most of their conserts they should make a come back my 17 year old twins like the music
The bass playing on this record is exceptional and was one of Pino Palladinos first recognized studio efforts. Geoff Emerick the Beatles sound engineer produced this album along with Mr. Heyward
I am currently listening to Nick's "from monday to sunday" in my rotation. Loving it and appreciating it's overall melodic pop flow...CUS IT'S STILL AS GOOD AS ANYTHING OUT THERE in the genre. Pure and simple, indeed.
Timeless classic. Some of the best session players of the day contributed to this and the rest of the brilliant 'North of a Miracle'. It was Nick's songwriting that made it special though. He hasn't lost the knack, check out his myspace page and you can hear some of his new material.
I was SO in love with Nick in the 80's, I just had the biggest crush EVER! I was lucky enough to meet him him a couple of years ago and he was absolutely lovely, so sweet! Still bloody fit as well, oh and his singing wasn't bad either!!!! ;-) Corrrrrrr!!!
Where is Nick these days?We need singers like Nick to show the under 20's what music is:pure;simple, and appealing to the ear and to the heart! Please Nick, come back?
1st time I ever seen this video. I have it on DVD but I never have time for myself-PATHETIC huh?? Thanks 2 U I got to see it. I LOVE NH and Haircut 100 <3
