All depends on how you install it. If it's on the same partition as your other OS then yes, unless you upgrade which isn't always available.

A partition is a "slice" from your HD.

Lets say you sliced your HD into 2 bits, C and D, and C had Windows.

If you install a new Windows on C ontop of the old one, everything is erased on C. It's called a "format". Also if you install it on D all is erased, except ofcourse what's on C.

Usually people partition their OS to a different "letter", so upgrading it in the future is painless. Save atleast 80 to 100 GB for your OS btw.

dude when i extract it and the setup comes when i double click it, it says

C:\Documents and settings\admin\my documents\setup.exe is not valid win32 application.

This vid wasn't and installation tut. However, i reccommend downlaoding and installing Power Iso, mouting to a virtual drive, and trying it that way. Has never failed with me yet :) Let me know how it goes please.

how did you get the aero to work? mine says that i need to update video card and something like that, nut when i check it at device manager it says its alreadt upto date??? how can i get it to work???

well mine worked anyway, but as a guess, you need an entire new videocard because a) it aint good enough b) as W7 is a beta, it won't be able to read all drivers etc

my video card is i think good enough for vista, ive been dual booting from WV to W7...

then all i can think of is that W7 cant read it. Try contactiong M$ and see what they say.

honestly, i dont understand why your getting this. the only thing i can think of is that it's corrupt. but before assuming that, download power iso, and mount it to a virtual drive and try t that way, if it happens again, then i suggest re-downloading it.

you should have been given a key when you downloaded it if you managed to get it in time.
