  • i love this song cause it talks about are lord all mighty and i love it

  • I love the Casting Crowns! <3

  • Stopped asking Oprah what to do! That is my favorite part.

  • @brdlwestmoreland13 me too

    \

  • 4 dislikes. my only problem is the song is what if HIS people prayed. God's not singing this song, it's a song intended to praise God.

  • @SEARCHbug120 how do you know God is not singing? That is the meaning of faith isn't it?

  • why do peopple watch this and dislike!

  • who would dislike this?!

  • @kyouXnako the lost people who this sing is about, the ones we need to send the prayers to so they can come to kwow Christ, and walk with us in Heaven one day

  • Thank you!

  • Well, I'm glad I was of some assistance. I also read something someone posted about God 'making people gay' in the bible. I don't recall God making someone gay but I do remember him turning them over to their evil ways. My take on that was God was fed up trying to help them and reach out to them-so He left them and let them destroy themselves. If you choose to do evil and God allows you to do so, does that make him evil? I think not.

  • @ready2escape Actually, that "someone" was me. I suppose it's true that the passage from Romans I quoted could be interpreted that way, but to me the phrasing seems to imply that their homosexuality was a curse or affliction from the Lord. I think this is partly because i have a problem with the idea of God "giving up" on someone. That just doesn't seem like Him.

  • I love this song. Sorry to butt in on the conversation but lets define sin. Sin is the breaking away from God's will. Therefore, whatever God does or commands someone to do can NOT be sin because it is the will of God.

  • @ready2escape Which was exactly my point, though I went about explaining it in a different way.

  • The song that made my decision to be saved final right after the first time i herd it i accepted, JESUS i love you

  • What if the family turned to JESUS, and stop asking Oprhea what to do!What if HIS people prayed!

  • I Love This SONG!!!!!! STOP ASKING OPRAH WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!

  • Seriously people, let's do this! Let's be a Holy Army and let prayer be our sword! Pray everyday that God would save this world from the abominations and terrors that is consdiered normal and good. Pray for an awakening in the hearts of each man, woman and child. Don't be afriad; stand up for the truth!!!

  • i was surprised when they mentioned Oprah lol that's true.!

  • Right on target! This song is NOT about Oprah. It is about those of us who call our selves the Body of Christ abdicating our responsibility. Don't ignore the rest of the song for that one line. It stings because it is true. WHAT IF WE PRAYED!? And followed the Lord's example and sought the Father's will. Jesus said "I only do what I see the Father doing." Why aren't we?

  • Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song is so true we as christians need to grow with god and have the bast relationship we can wit god and spread his word not just hope someone else will do it 4 us..

  • @SoundStar01

Will be praying for your friend. In the mean time keep on the loving. Sooner or later he will feel the hate leaving his spirit. GOD bless you in your efforts.

  • I love this song God bless casting crowns and God bless you

  • what if the christian music industry would stop asking U2 how to write their songs?

  • If you talk to God he will talk to you but only if you LISTEN. If you converse with God then you don't have to ask a human what to do.

  • You know what....as long as they speak for the Lord then it's good....it'll always be good as long as it's for the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • i just had 2 listen to this

  • Oprah is not the antichrist. Stop being so hateful, "Christians" and let those of us who came to listen to the music do so in peace.

  • @Britin101 who said ophrah was an antichrist

so many people DO ask oprah and the answer comes from God.-my sister

  • @blackiceman26 Read back through the comments, a few people are calling her the antichrist. It just bothers me when a lot of the comments on empowering songs like this are negative. It gives those of us who only try to put out positivity and acceptance in His name a bad rep.

  • Stormed Hell's rusty gates... Sounds like taking the fight to the enemy, to me...

  • 1. People stop nit picking, so they got a few lyrics wrong, it's not worth making a fuss over.

    2. I highly doubt Oprah is the anti-christ. 50% of the west have no idea who she is. I'd have thought this is more likely the one world religion (talked about in the Bible), and the leader the anti-Christ. You also might want to have a look at who the directors include (Rick Warren is a main person in this movement)

  • You aren't really very good at this whole making lyrics thing. There's a couple of mistakes. Just sayin.

  • It's "those who bear His name", not "bare".

  • It's bare

  • I have this guy in my class who is full of hate. If you see the look in his eyes, it's only hate, emptyness and lonlyness. I used to hate him because he treated me and some girls in school very bad, but then I figured, all he need is love. The love of Jezus. He's also full of hate against the jews. I started to pray for him and I'm asking you to pray for him too! God bless you all. xx

  • When u gonna march on the evil rich and beseech them to repent before we send them to hell?

  • @Licmycat "We" can't send anyone to hell, rich or poor. Who ever does not acknowledge Christ as Savior already has the wrath of God on him. It is believing on Jesus to save us from sin and hell that will keep us (both rich and poor) from ending up in hell. A place reserved for the devil and his angels. God's will is that we would repent and be saved from such a destiny. Where the worms do not die and the fire is not quenched.

  • @ImCompleteinHim Depends on if you're with GOD or not....does it not?

  • @Licmycat Are you with God through Christ (the way, the truth, the life, no one comes to the Father except through me [John 14:6],) or with God on your own merit? It matters. Christ is the guarantee of our access. Our own works or righteousness won't do? Just filthy rags in His sight.

  • @Licmycat I am in complete agreement with you here. The Word of God speaks for itself. Many may not like the message (or the messenger for that matter) but that does not change His word. Which I why I said "we" cannot send anyone to hell. God does not desire anyone would perish. But our decision to accept Christ or reject His offer of salvation determines our final destination. Heaven or hell.

  • @ImCompleteinHim Who do you work for?

  • @Licmycat Who do I work for? That question is a little vague. I am currently unemployed (like most Americans these days). I am after one thing..to give God glory. I chose to be a follower of Christ, not just a church-goer. I am daily seeking to be more like Christ, in speech, in attitude, in conduct, etc. (I Timothy 4:12). That is my desire. My username gives a clue to that. See Colossians 2:6-10 KJV

  • STOP ASKING OPRAH WHAT TO DOOO!!!!

  • What is wrong with our world today? What has it come to be? Even christians don't act like they should. I know at least 20 people who are supposedly "Christians " but they smoke, they drink, they cuss. People are turning away from God and they don't even know it. I am 10 years old! If I can figure it out, surely other people can. Like this so everyone can see it at the top of the page. Everyone needs it. Oh God, bless us. Protect us. Our life is coming down to nothing without you. Help us!!

  • @MrSmartdude I know what you're saying... I know people just like that.

  • @MrSmartdude There is a big difference between calling oneself a christian and being a "follower of Christ". Some people assume that if they're born in America and are not Jewish, or Muslim or atheist that they're automatically christian. Christ said," In that day, many shall say unto me 'Lord, Lord,'" to whom He will say "Depart from Me, I never knew you" Many assume that if their parents are christian, they're automatically christian. Everyone must INDIVIDUALLY accept Christ as Lord.

  • hare krishna .. and hail god and christ.

  • my favorite part of this song is "stop askin oprah what to do" haha that made me laugh, amen to that. stop askin oprah what to do, for the Bible says, "cast your troubles on God, for he cares for you"

  • i love this song i have it on my mp3 player

  • the one thing a christian misses most is praying =( So..what if his people prayed?

    God Bless all

Romans 10:13- whoever calls upon the name of the lord shall be saved

  • the one thing a christian misses most is praying =( So..what if his people prayed?

    God Bless all

  • If Oprah claimed that she was god I would run up to her and smack her

  • @paldin885 Gee. Oprah, the anti-christ! Whoah. Never thought of it. But that's possible.

  • yea everybody needs to turn to the bible and not oprah jesus can do alot more than her trust me!!!!! so stop asking oprah wat to do.

  • The farther we move away from the river of our baptism, the less foliage can grow in our branches and the harder it becomes to breath - indeed, the mountain peaks are covered with a tremendous chill.

Love the song! Love the Video! Love the message! Thank You!

  • Amos 5:26a; "You have lifted up the shrine of your king, the pedestal of your idols" Ezekiel 20:18b-20; "Do not follow the statutes of your fathers or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols. I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws." Ezekiel 47:22b; "You are to consider them [foreigners, aliens]as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance"

  • amazing video. God be praised

  • @kn5000rules-How is this a Bad song. Just because it is teaching a message telling people they need to cling to JESUS THE SAVIOR AND THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD instead of Oprah and Dr. Phil.

  • What if the family turned to Jesus?

Stop asking Oprah what to do!

    XD thats HILARIOUS

    But so TRUE

    Praise and pray to God

  • love the video & song

  • If his people pray and be the hands and feet of Jesus, then Things will change for the better! So let's turn from our ways and do wht God want us to do!

  • LOVE THIS SONG AND ITS LYRICS<3

  • hahahah! I posted on this song a min ago somewhere else, I just saw the lyrics. But I stand by what I said, If those people idolize Oprah so much, that they would leave the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY because of something she said, They were never true believers to start with, Just pretenders, There is NO room in heaven for pretenders! GOD would have said "Depart from me, I don't know you"

  • amazing

  • Oprah DOES need Jesus...and I will continue to pray for her. I wasnt sure what he was saying....then i find out he is saying "stop asking OPRAH what to do".....I LOVE THIS SONG EVEN MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am a home care nurse, and used to drive around with Kenny G on and put words praising God to his music. My words were always different, reflecting what was in my heart at that time. Now, I have KLOVE on and praise His name with songs from Casting Crowns and many others!

  • @PattyBinkis Isn't Klove awesome! I was told about and started listening over a year ago. Now my life has changed for the better because I'm closer to Christ thanks to them and a great friend and brother in Christ.

  • "stopped asking Oprah what to do" hahaha i love this song!

  • this song is so true HIS PROMISE HAS BEEN MADE!

  • totally love this song.... God is awesome.. what if His people prayed.... that would be incurable

i love casting crowns..but definitely I LOVE JESUS!

  • OH MY I remember the first time I listened to this song. WOW I was laughing so hard at "Stop asking Oprah what to do" I'm in love with this band. Heck, I'm In LOVE with God!!!! = D I LOVE YOU LORD!!!!

  • that's right !!!

wHat wOuld reaLLy haPpen if we ReaLLy pRayed and caLL on His name ?!

let's be VIGILANT and poSsesS wHat is ours!!!

  • i love this song i love Jesus Christ

  • Mark Twain: Buddha: Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.

  • Love this song and hate to make a nit-picky comment but whoever added the lyrics misspelled "bear". It should not be "bare" His name...altho. that kind of makes a point as well (reveal His name) but I'm sure the original lyric should be people who "bear" (carry) His name

  • this is what i feel at school that nobody stands up for God and when i try people change the subject or shut me up so people won't no the truth its sad that there isn't prayer in shool that school is anti-christ.

  • I feel the same. Every time i try to bring up my faith, i am told i am thick for believing in some 'imaginary guy'. I wish someone would just ask me why i feel like this, then i can evangelize my heart out to them. For i love the Lord my God and would love to glorify His Name.

    Amen!

  • It comes with the job. People will hate us because of our faith, but we have our own family with us to help us in our time of need and we also have the Lord of Lords, God.

  • i am sorta crishtan and im only 9 but this and american dream are the best on my opinon but you rule jeusus i wouldnt behear if it wernt for u letting them kill u but still u the best i love u

  • This song is awesome!

  • amen ill tep up to the plate

  • nice song.listened to it and forgot it's name.finialy found it

  • I think that the intention of the last sentice (zin) is that Oprah not the most important person is to ask sometimes to, that is God! So ask God!

  • What if Jesus speaks through Oprah sometimes??

  • Dude, Oprah is BAD. Jesus doesn't speak through her at all. Satan does... = P

Yeah I had to do a report on a famous person and I did Oprah and she believes in a religion where she says she's a "goddess" and its really bad...

  • Yea people stop making Oprah your Bible she needs JEsus Christ herslef! Lol God bless you. Be blessed Crowns!

  • So true....so true

  • @dudette23 Oprah is real, god isn't

  • @mrpilot102 God is real and alive. Oprah is just a normal person like the rest of us

  • @Chrisyheart there is no god.

  • @mrpilot102 there is a God or we wouldn't be here. Don't blame our existance on science or some freak accident. The way things work, life itself is too complex, too perfect to be some "big bang". There has to be a God, a bigger being than us all to have made it this way. If there isn't a God who has planned our lives, then life has no meaning or point.

  • @Chrisyheart Life actually is not perfect, there are numerous flaws in the human body, let alone every other creature on Earth. And congratulations you just said what I consider one of the most pathetic and sad comments brought up by christians "If there isn't a God who has planned our lives, then life has no meaning or point."

  • @mrpilot102 If God didn't make us then how were we made? And if there is no God then what's the point of living? And don't say it's some stupid thing that all Christians say. Just answer it please

  • @Alpha2261 how were we made? Read about the big bang, abiogenesis, and evolution, and I don't mean from one of your fundamentalist website. YOu honestly think you need an imaginary friend to have purpose in life? Wow I almost want to cry how brainwashed you are...I am shaking my head right now.

  • @mrpilot102 Big Bang? Your science is based all on theories. Also, what about energy can't be created or destroyed? What created the first atom? What triggered the big bang? How are there so many coincidences that somehow allow there to be life at all, let alone intelligent life? Why are there so many things that point to him existing? Why do you celebrate Christmas and Easter? And even if he just an imaginary person, at least I'm living for something. What are you living for? Yourself? Fun.

  • @Alpha2261 my science is based on theories?...now before you try and confuse the rest of the christians on here with that word "theory", how about you research it and post the definition of "scientific theory". What created the first atom? Well what created the first god? Why do I celebrate christmas and Easter? I don't. Most people celebrate it to be with families, get presents and eat too much. I live for my family, my friends, and contributing the most to society in my lifetime..

  • @mrpilot102 No one created God. He is timeless, and thus has no need of a Creator. If you still don't understand, I would be glad to explain the concept of "timelessness" (I believe the scientific term is "temporal infinity") to you.

    God bless you.

  • @mrpilot102 God always was and always will be. He was never created. Ok, so you live your life for your friends and family. I live my life for God. If you celebrate Christmas and Easter just for being with family and getting presents, what makes those days different from others? And as a side note, what is bad about being a Christian?

  • @Alpha2261 how do you know he wasn't created? And how did that person create god? Christians always say "you can't make something from nothing". Like I say I don't celebrate christmas or easter. They are just like any other day. The only reason people do celebrate is because some people dreamed up a book called the bible a while back..sadly a number of people took it as truth. what do I think is good about being christian should be the better question...and it's nothing.

  • @mrpilot102 Christians believe that God wasn't created because the God we believe in is totally truthful and He has said that He is uncreated. If you don't believe in the Christian God, then, yeah, I guess you would have no reson to believe He is timeless. I'm not sure why you'd care whether Someone you don't believe in is timeless or not, through...

I believe Alpha226 was asking you why you hate us Christians so much. You weren't able to answer him, so it must be an irrational hatred.

  • @ibthegeek I did answer him. I don't see any redeeming features in christianity? Hmmm do I like the fact that the majority of them look down upon other religions or the non-religious? No. Do I like the fact they want to suppress science because they fear it will eventually destroy their belief system? No..Fundamentalists would love to have us back into another dark ages---which by the way was caused by christianity. Do I like the missionaries that go out and destroy cultures? no.

  • @mrpilot102 1) The majority of Christians do NOT "look down upon" non-Christians. 2) We do not 'suppress science," because we believe that nothing discovered by science could ever disprove God. 3) The Dark Ages were not caused by Christianity, they were caused by the feudal systym. 4) Missionaries not "destroy cultures;" most often Christiany is assimilated into the culture in question. Take a look at Aftrican or Japanesse Christians: their cultures certainly have not been 'destroyed."

  • @ibthegeek Yes the majority of christian do look down upon non-christians. 2) I have a degree in history and know a thing or two about the dark ages..please re-read your history..the fall of the Roman empire left a vacuum that was filled by the Catholic church, which did everything it could to suppress advancements of mankind. Missionaries have been destroying cultures for hundreds and hundreds of years. And to this day it is happening in Asia, South America, Africa, etc. Do you ever get out??

  • @mrpilot102 We could go back and forth about whether "the majority of Christians look down upon non-Christians" all day. The fact is, neither of us has ever met or had any communication with "the majoity of Christians," so neither has any grounds to say what they do and do not believe. I do know, however, that anyone who is earnestly trying to live in the way Jesus instructed will not look down on anybody.

  • @mrpilot102 The catholic Church does not and never has represented Christianity. From it's early days it has been corrupted by men who have sought to use it as a means of gaining pesonal power. It was these men who "suppress(ed) advancements of mankind."

Tell me some ways missionaries are "destroying cultures." Today, I mean. I would never try to deny that missionaries in the past have done so.

  • @ibthegeek "The catholic Church does not and never has represented Christianity. From it's early days it has been corrupted by men who have sought to use it as a means of gaining pesonal power."----haha and yes the evangelical churches are so much different lol.....Might I remind you of Tedd haggard, jimmy swagart, Jim Baker, jerry falwell, billy graham, oral roberts, pat robertson..send him money btw, Oh the list goes on and on lol

  • @mrpilot102 I have to point out that your reasoning here is fundementally flawed. All of the names you list are "bing name" Christians, people who intentionally seek fame and reputation. As such, they don't represent Christians in general (who are called to be humble and to give all glory to God) any more than the medieval Catholic Church.

  • @mrpilot102 BTW, the presence of features you do not like (if they were even true) is still no grounds for saying there are not "any redeeming features" in Christianity. Plenty of things have both good and bad aspects; the issue is whether the good outwieghs the bad.

  • @ibthegeek Here is another great quote for you: You can not argue with a fundamentalist, for them to admit they are wrong, would be to admit god is wrong. And the good does not outweigh the bad...trying to think of some "goods" actually...none coming to mind.

  • @mrpilot102 How about Red Cross, for starters? That was founded by Christians. Besides that, there are hundereds of Christian charities across the world that imeasurable good every day. Look at Feed My Starving Childern, for example. They do great work.

  • @ibthegeek hope you and the chrisy person don't go bash any homosexuals, they are people too. Just because it offends your christian beliefs doesn't mean they have to be harassed...

  • @mrpilot102 I can't speak for Chrisyheart, but I don't "bash" anyone. And just for the record, I support gay rights. They don't "offend (my) Christian beliefs" at all.

  • @ibthegeek and I feel the same way. A boy at my school just came out with being bi-sextual and people being their usual selves have been spreading the word and making fun. I was the first to stand up against one of my best friends for that. Even If i dont nessasarily support homosextuality or agree with it i believe that we are not to judge and are to love them because thats what Jesus would do. It's Him who has the right to judge, not us

  • @ibthegeek does it annoy me when I am out shopping and some one say "god bless you" and I say no thanks I don't believe in god...and they start yelling at me how I am going to hell? No it's annoying and actually pathetic. Do you realize christianity is the most despised religion around the world? Probably didn't realize that did you. Do I like how so many christians are anti-gay, which causes depression in homosexual christians and suicides?...no

  • @mrpilot102 Believe me, people like that make me angry too. Not only is that the exact opposite of the attitude Jesus wanted us to have, it also gives people like you more reasons to hate us.

Yes, I do realize that Christianity is widely despised. It's only to be expected. After, Jesus said: "You will be hated of all men for My name's sake."

I also dislike it when Christian go around spreading the mistaken idea that God condemms homosexuality.

  • @ibthegeek I know your response, they aren't really christians, lol oh I have heard that before haha. Here is a quote for you: If every christian who called another christian not a christian, wasn't a christian, there wouldn't be any christians.

  • @mrpilot102 I make a habit of never saying that someone who claims to be a Christian isn't. I will, however, say that people like what you desribe are not very good Christians. Through really, who am I to judge? I have no idea what their life is like.

  • @mrpilot102 Yes, life is not perfect but that's not because of God. Never, ever blame God for the flaws of the world. His perpous was for it to be perfect but it is humans that messed that up. And it is true, if God wasn't real then lifew would really have no meaning, no hope or promise. When we died what would happen then? Without Jesus' death we would have nohope of living for eternety.

  • @Chrisyheart why are you talking to me homophobe, you are an embarrassment. Do you not realize what a disgusting individual you are? I bet back in the day you'd also hate black people, Mexican, I bet you even hate muslims because your moronic church leaders told you they were evil.

  • @mrpilot102 There is absolutely no excuse for how rude you are being. In case you hadn't noticed, one is being nasty or insulting to you. They're just stating there opinions. Why do you think it's OK to treat people however you like?

That's why you need God. Without Him, you'll just do whatever you feel like, and everyone else be damned. I'm praying for you, man.

  • @ibthegeek Oh I am sorry, I apologize to chrisyheart for letting her know I don't think much of her homophobic comments. *rolling eyes*...I am sticking up for homosexuals and apparently I am the one who "needs god" hahahaha you are delusional.

  • @mrpilot102 Once again, your reaction is extremely over-the-top and rude compared to what people have said to you. There is really no need to be so obnoxious.

I haven't read any comments by Chrisyheart that could be construed as homophobic. Could you please tell me which page they're on so I can?

BTW, I apluad your desire to stick up for homosexuals, but attacking those you believe are attacking them really won't help.

  • @ibthegeek My response is rude? Sorry for hurting your delicate feelings. I will not apologize for confronting a fundamentalist christian homophobe. People like her/him are disgusting wastes of life. God isn't infinite nor nor is she timeless.

  • @mrpilot102 1) Well, since you can't tell me where she actually made a "homophobic" comment, I can only assume that YOU are assuming that base simply because she's a Christian. 2) What's disgusting is that you would say that a human being is a waste of life. 3) Anyone who believes in (the Christian) God knows He is infinite and timeless. 4) Were you trying to bother me by referring to God as "she?" God is technically an "it," so it doesn't matter which you use.

  • @mrpilot102 see? this is the difference between [real] christians and the world. our first instinct is to fight back when you insult but instead we are to be like God who is loving. Instead we don't attack back even though we want to. That alone should be proof that there is a God or else we wouldn't want to be like Him and would be insulting you with every name in the book

  • @Chrisyheart see this is the thing I detest most about christians....You do something wrong or say something evil then hide behind your religion like a little coward.. You are a homophobic hatemonger. YOu can't be wrong because you are a "real christian"...pathetic!!

  • @mrpilot102 I never did anything wrong or evil here. And christians dont "hide behind our religion". We confess, try to do better and change because we want to be like Jesus

  • @Chrisyheart of course you didn't do anything wrong "rolls eyes". You wouldn't see that because you are a "real" chrsitan, aren't you homophobe?

  • @mrpilot102 Acctually, when you are a Christian you become more aware of the things you do wrong. So that you can change it and become more like Christ. When you aren't listening to Jesus, you are less aware

  • @mrpilot102 What exactly is the problem here? Everyone here has been nothing less than polite to you, yet you continue to bombard us with mean-spirited and baseless accusations. Why? Do you really hate Christians so much that you'll attack them for absolutely nothing?

  • @mrpilot102 "Christians" in general do not do that. Some extremists do, but they by no means represent christians as a whole.

  • @mrpilot102 So far as I can see, Chrisyheart has done nothing wrong here. I have previously asked you to point out where exactly she was being "homophobic" and you have failed to. You are the one who is hatemongering, not her.

As a side note, Christians never claim to be perfect; just forgiven.

  • @ibthegeek I failed to point it out? Um scroll down there, you seem to have a problem reading. She is a clear hatemongering homophobe and doesn't deny it...she just says that is what god believes, and what she believes. No wonder I despise the christian fake god.

  • @mrpilot102 I've read through some 5 or 6 pages of back comments, and I can't find anything like that. Care to tell which page it's on?

I'm very sorry that you allow the misguided opinion of some christians spoil your view of the religion as a whole.

  • @mrpilot102 the "Christian fake God" is a God of love. That's why even if i dont suport or agree with homosexuality I will stand up for the rights and support anyone because that's being loving.

  • @Chrisyheart you stand up for their rights? haha yeah what ever stop backpedaling.

  • @mrpilot102 that's not back pedaling. I clearly state that I do not agree or support it but I will stand up for their rights and stand up for any ridicule. It is God's judgment, not ours. Our only job is to love and bring people to Him and not hate

  • @Chrisyheart I'm totally with you there.

I really don't want to start a fight or anything, and don't have a problem with you having your own opinion, especially since you're not trying to push it on others, but is it okay if I ask why you feel homosexuality is wrong? I've never read anything to suggest that.

  • @Chrisyheart I'll tackle your points in reverse order. 1) Leviticus 20:13 is part the Law of the Old Covenant, which means it's not binding to Christians. 2) The NIV might say "homosexual offenders," but my Bible (I use the Old Ving James version, because I find it to be closer in meaning to the origional language)says "abusers of themselves with mankind," which to me sound like it's referring to people who go out and get drunk, use drugs, ect.

  • @ibthegeek honnestly, i hope it's that way and not the way i procieve it. See, this is why I like conversations like this. Everyone can say their point of view on things and noone gets over the top or rude

  • @Chrisyheart I've enjoyed our conversation as well. I just wish I could find those verses in the origional Greek. I think that would clear things up a lot.

BTW, would you mind if I aired a few other reasons that I don't think the Bible says being gay is wrong? I want to make sure my reasoning is sound, and I would really appreciate your feedback.

  • @ibthegeek okay (:

  • @Chrisyheart Great! Okay, fist of all:

The nature of sin. As defined in the New Testament, sin is anything that goes against the two essential commandmants given by Jesus in Matthew 22;37-9: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart...and love your neighbor as yourself."

Follwing that line of reasoning, we see that everything called a sin in the new Testament is either a sin against God, or a sin against man.

  • @Chrisyheart For example: murder, aldultery, and theft are sins because it's not loving your neighbor to kill him, rob him, or sleep with his wife (sins against man). Pride is a sin because it takes away from God the glory that is rightly His (sin against God).
