@ptt2008 we had cells and computers in the 80's cells were HUGE and carried in bags like a video camera trs-80 radio shack computers commodore pets. vic-20s and c-64 atari came out with a few personal computers we used what were called bulletin boards back then, chat and some games NOT every one had them no, Cell phones were not hundreds of dollars but thousands and very limited, most were used in cars by the rich but your right NOT every one had them and wasn't a daily thing like today

This tracks the best thing about the movie. Most of the characters were nasty and pretentious and the individual story lines weren't that strong but a great cast and acting and a fantastic mood /Cinematography and great music make up for it. It's no Breakfast Club but worth a look 6/10.

They used to have this theme on a radio station in the UK when i was a kid in the 1990s, for a lovers and song dedication section called the peaceful hour from midnight to 1am. Use to laugh at the sentiments,(I was a kid, and kids do that), loved the music they played and this theme though.

When I was younger, I had a really hard time understadning this movie. I re-discovered this movie after I gradudated from college. It's truly amazing how I (and so many others) can relate to this movie, and to truly understand what the characters are truly going though at this point in their lives!
