  • I have a 2.0 mainly stock, just an intake and axle back exhaust and it still eats Hondas with $20.00 of gas a week. Thinking about cam, chip and maybe turbo soon. Mk3's are very light cars. You dont need to go crazy with torque and HP. I got a cup kit too and it handles better than my older BMW! :p

  • this one has a built bottom end, headwork, standalone a monster turbo, custom geared 4-speed O2A tranny with a peloquin diff.

    it rips

no longer a street car though

  • 2.slow my ass, if your smart you getta TDI tranny with long 5th and double stack headgaskets. Push 17 psi and your loling all the way to the bank. VR6 swaps arnt as stright forward as this.

  • at first i thought you were filming the minivan going buy, lol then the jetta comes tearing up the road.

  • Nice MKIII!

  • ughh. I dont now folks..I got 2 vw's and I still couldnt justify building a 2.slow. As a daily driver there awesome. But as far as the platform goes no way. 1 cam, 8 valves and no rpm with really bad gearing. Like stated before I would go with the vr6 or even the

1.8t swap which I'm going for. Just my opinion I guess...

  • its fine to have your own opinion

  • cool vid bro. is that a kinetic turbocharger ?

  • wut abt 2.0 16 valve?

  • @MorePOwerplz i have a 2.0 and owned one prior, i could not agree with you more, the gas mileage is awesome, I have seen supercharger kits, but w/ the kit, my wife's lancer es still has more horsepower. but still I can go further on less gas than she can.

  • @madblunted Ya I loved mine. (sold for a Saab). Awesome little car. Like you said, great mileage, geared to climb hills but not beat ferraris, and simple to work on. I bought mine with 198,xxx and drove it till it had 214,xxx. sold it and then saw it 2 years later still on the road. I'm looking for another one as we speak!

  • @MorePOwerplz

im sitting on a 1.8t swap, and you will have much better power on stock parts for less money with an ABA-T. the K03s is a tiny garbage turbo.

if you buy an obd1 car, it has forged rods and crank, as well as dual valve springs.... so its bulletproof. to make any real power over 300whp on a 1.8t you need rods.

but a vrt is the only real way to go

  • what do you have done to it..... turbo size etc...

  • If you want power, build an mk3 vr6. Easy to turbo and way more bang for your buck.

  • Yea but having dealt with the VR before its a bitch to get work done to it if you screw up. When i needed to find someone to work on it for me no one would do it cause they said its the worst engine veedub put out( to work on that is) but thats just my outlook on it

  • Lol, your absolutely right. I had to change a water pump on my vr6 and I had to basically unbolt the engine and use a jack and lift the whole motor (jacking up on the oil pan mind you) just to reach it. And the other huge downside is that the timing is on the tranny side of the motor. So if you have to do the timing or a head gasket or anything internal it means you have to take the tranny off or the motor out. You gotta love them to own and work o them thats for sure.

  • What modifications have been done? I'm thinking about rebuilding a smashed up mk3 2.0L thats at my local junkyard, and im wondering if its a good car to start with?

  • MK3 2.0L YES!!!!
