  • Your wet's on the sends should be 100%

  • SO HELPFUL

  • Ye Mon...Awesome ! Gd Tings A Gwan ¬! :D

  • Now do you prefer to use clips like that? Because you could just put another looper into that second audio track. I'm working on a looping video, but I've been mapping the controls of all my tracks' loopers to my midi keys. Is it easier to use loopers only for the tracks that need overdub, and then just use clips otherwise?

  • Thanks for the video! Helped me out quite a bit.

  • "now if I want to overdub the bird..." hahaha that was stellar

  • bird is your assist manager;)

  • I missed the first 2 minutes cause I was watching your parrot!!!

  • hey pls help. When I beatbox into the mic,is a huge.i put the imput buffer sise to 250,and still have that delay.what can i do?pls help.

  • @tibiluk99 it could be your inteface my friend, some of them, (especially USB) have really bad latency

  • @nicoluminous i have fixt that problem.now i have another one.i can`t sync the beats from the first channel with the second.my sync beatbox is good, but when i pres stop,it dosn`t sync the beat.why ?

  • @tibiluk99 not sure if I totally understand..it won't sync when you hit stop?

  • @nicoluminous yes.in "audio 2" when i try to loop

  • @tibiluk99 how did you fixed that? I have the same problem. When i beatbox into mic, it makes delay.

  • Nice one! Thanks :)

  • one of the most amazing tutorials for ableton !!!

  • Tight tutorial dawg. Bird's coo 2.

  • parrot approves this video

  • love the sound of the bird it sounds like a condom peace from belgium

  • Hi There..kind of you to share your expertise.I am a old school Jamman user.

After 20 years(!) I want to move to Ableton Looper, as the noise build up in the Jamman was unusable in studio..my question is this:

Instead of multi-layering sound on sound in one looper instance, I want to loop into many individal looper instances, pass by pass, and thus keep the white noise of overdubbing to a minimum.... whatyasay?

  • Nice!!

  • dude...I don`t have a looping pedal, you just saved me a LARGE heaache. much respect, thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much lol

  • exactly what I was looking for, thank you so muchh!

  • Awesome, thanks a lot

  • thanx brother)))

  • Good tutorial dude! Like your music too! I got the looper thing happening, but how come when i use the overdub, everytime gets echoed and louder, when I'm not adding any new sounds to the overdub?

  • I have a usb mic. But It has .5 second latency. It totally throws me off. How can I reduce the latency????

  • @duganmccarty Check your sound cart and pilot. If you use your default one, it's normal to get latence, check Asio driver.

Great Lesson though, very cool way to learn. Greetings!

  • @TaranosLeGaulois Thanks. But I dont know what a cart and pilot is. What should I be checking for exactly?

  • @duganmccarty card* sry. Don't you use a Asio driver with your usb mic? In ableton's options, check the audio tab and the top value is the driver you're using in Ableton (I don't exactly know what names it is in yours because I use french software). If you use usual driver (i.e MME/DirectX), it's normal to get latency. BTW, I'm not an expert, sorry about that =/

  • I like being trained by a gnome with a parrot on his shoulder. That should be the future of infotainment.

  • Thanks Nico! Good to see you feeding the music community online!

  • I can't seem to get my loops right without a click, were you listening to a click with your headp;hones?

  • Great vid bro. I have a challenge with this Looper, when I trigger it, it delays a few milliseconds and also delays when I end the loop. How do I get the latency down to zero?

  • thanks man! very nice and helpfull work here

  • polly wants a cracker

  • polly wants a cracker

  • Really Helpful Video!! thanks! nico!!!! cool parrot!!!

  • what is that noise... like a duck or something.. its really annoying man!!!

  • Is that a fucking parrot?

  • Does this work with odd time like 13\8 or stuff like that

  • can i assign keys to rec/play etc?

  • hey bro!!!...should i connect my interface via midi to make those loops or just the regular connecting via usb

  • This is a great tutorial, very much appreciated. Keep up the cool sounds!

  • this is exactly what i needed, thanks for sharing !!!

    awesome freestyle too :)

  • nice tut dude keep it up

  • very helpfull however next time could you please make sure your voice is coming through both sides of my headphones? i think you panned it to the left ear because i only hear you from one side thanks bro

  • SO helpful!

  • Oh! The bird flew away... The bird's flying around... LOL at 4:20

  • sweet tutorial. train that parrot, you gonna get CRAZY beats.

  • thanks for the tutorial bro - nice to find help from an old friend.

    adrian in bc

  • Cool video. But why there is so many "rec" buttons, a 5 I guess. The bigest has a 3 or 4 different functions. I just don't get how they are related to main rec button near the runtime and others.

  • Thanks for posting this, extremely helpful! I was amazed how none of the external loopers from DigiTech or Roland or items like Korg's KP3 have no type of external sync. Thanks again!

  • hahahaha sick

  • really cool for you to take your time to make these great tutorials, very easy to learn with you, many thanks!!

  • Great video! You are good, creative, funny and very talented - yet not full of yourself.

A very rare thing those days on youtube!

Tell me: I do not find the Looper, but I have Ableton 7 - it's new in 8?

  • Very informative!

  • thankyou so much!!

  • great tutorial. nice beat box going on. and only ableton tutorial with parakeet assist on the net...big thumbs up for that!

  • first ever reverbed parrot

  • when I try to record another layer, the last layer get erease it, how can I change it to record one layer over the last one? just like you do it...

  • @hevanescencarrillo hey there, have you done it ith just the mouse button exactly the way I do it at 00:41 sec in the video?

  • @nicoluminous thanks! I already made it!... now I have a second problem... when I sing or play a note on my midi keyboard, the computer makes the playback a little bit delayed... its not playing what im playing at the same time, do you know what I mean?

  • awesome video, man. your bird is cool as hell. so are your tracks.

  • WHAT KIND OF MUSIQ DO YOU DO? YOU GOT THAT MAD FLY DUB TYPE JOINT GOIN ON I LOVE THAT,LOL

  • thanks a lot for this vid! just one question. my mic seems to lag whenever i add audio. is there any way to fix this??

  • whats that squeaking? hahah

  • Top tutorial!

  • I seem to get a delay when synced externally. It starts out in time then accumulates an unacceptable amount of delay. The delay will increase indefinitely.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • weird ... no audio

  • @audiostudioDOTorg it seems to only come out of the left channel/speaker for some reason.

  • THANKS BRO!!! God Bless! Keep it up!

  • possible to run two looper at the same time on two different tracks with the same midi controller button to trigger 'start record/stop'?? so that i can switch between the two tracks any time i want?

  • Thanks bro. Its workin. I just checked all the sync, remote, etc boxes. Not sure which box was the key, but hey.

  • Exactly! :) I don't know what those mean either!

  • A brotha. I am hitting the pad on my Trigger Finger in midi map mode and the looper button and it won't respond. In the midi messages window there is so messages/responses from anything from the Finger. It will trigger samples though. Any thoughts?

  • Yo Mk, check your preferences under the midi tab and make sure your trigger finger is enables...theres a lil green square in the upper right hand when you hit the pad or turn a knob it should blink on and off... good luck!

  • I suppose Making other clips gives you the option of taking loops in and out or doing separate fx processing... for instance high pass filter for lyrics and accentuated bass frequencies for beatbox loops...

  • Hey man, thanks for the info, the bird is genial, it adds so much interest to the music.

I can't understand why do you make another clip and how to sync with the other loop? why don't you just overdub?

    thanks

  • also make sure your interface is going directly into the usb port on the computer, not a hub

  • This is really good, amazing tutorial. MUCH appreciated.

  • i vote all teachers from now on have a some animal as like their teaching sidekick!

    nice tutorial though, thanks!

  • Nice tutorial, man. Thanks!

  • man,you got your stuff down forsure...how would you go about making a simple reggae/dub sound track, i wanna make a hip hop style reggae dub track, i just got live 8 suite today and idk where to start...hook it up haha

  • great vid great tutorial great bird. u rock

  • Comment removed

  • my mic keeps echoing... any suggestions?

  • @scaffstaproductions it could be your interface, a lot of time Usb interfaces will cause latency. Firewire is best but do the best with what you have:)

    good luck

  • haha, bird is awesome.. had to watch it 2 times, first time I got hooked on the bird xP

but thanks for the tutorial man! just started using ableton, for this purpose.. so helped a lot!

got a crappy mic though, so I don't really get any good vocal beats from it.

any tips for a cheap but good mic?

  • after an entire day trying to figure this stuff out, you have sorted my head out, all other tutorial vids are worthless. Would love if you could do so more tutorials especially on the launchpad and novation sl mk2 - if you have these of course

  • hey there, sorry I'm not using the novation stuff, I'd like to rock the launchpad someday though:) what ideas would u have for a new tutorial?

  • good skills and cute bird but don't dry your returns man ! that's not good for your health

  • Awesome Dude!! Thanks a bunch

  • Thanks bro, you rock, and inspire me to keep moving forward in this digital sound world.

  • 5* again;)

  • okthanks i'll figure it out.maybe cause your using an apple it looks just a bit different.never seen that circle shows up on the mouse arrow.

  • how did you take away '2 audio or 'track two at 0:17 seconds?

  • BIRD FTW!

  • lol the bird!

  • Great 5/5

  • Big help! Great simple tut on live looping. With this you can use Looper to set the tempo in one track, and then record into slots anywhere else. Thanks for a clear, simply explained tutorial.

  • You got it buddy:) my pleasure, Stay tuned:)

  • great vid man i have just one question....when connect my mic to ableton it has latency about few seconds...how to repair it?please

  • Hey there, if you're using a Usb interface you might be stuck with latency, go into your ableton preferences and lower your buffer rate as much as you can until your audio starts crackling, then bump it up until you have the lowest possible latency...good luck

  • you defiantly make things a lot easier and fun!

    thanks bro

  • thanx 4 dis!

  • this bird rocks SO MUCH

  • Great video man! Thanks.

  • the bird is fantastic also
