  • The STAR-LEDGER will be burnt to the ground on Yom Kippur.

  • @rentslave I'll make sure to cancel my subscription before then.

  • People need to take notes from the Germans. Pulling this shit over there can result in heavy fines or even get somebody killed.

  • Oh people get killed here because of this too but just no fines

  • well done. What left lane idiots don't realize is that letting people pass helps THEM out. It smooths out traffic, let's it space out better, it gets people out of their way, and if there are any police, they will be protected from tickets. Plain and simple, it's much safer. Now, what to do about it. I for one will beep the horn to let a driver plainly unaware of their rear view mirror, that I am passing on the right (an unnecessary and avoidable situation).

  • Not a freaking clue... exactly! These stupid people are clueless when it comes to driving. They don't realize what the hell they are doing, and need to pay attention!

  • I watched the Interstate highway feature on the History Channel earlier and they showed how just one slow idiot can back up traffic for miles. I think they ought to put special trucks out there with big rubber push bumpers, then use them.

  • Agreed... and the ones that create rolling roadblocks (riding along side another car) like in your other video, they are even worse.

  • The roads in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York should be in mint condition for all the tolls and taxes we pay out!

  • LOL. I wonder if there in USA you're allowed to pass using right lane. Here it's strictly prohibited, but some people fed up of left-lane-bandits does it sometimes. Me myself, I stay behind them and give them some flashes, so they move right. Anyway as I see on many videos of your roads, it's a very usual thing to drive on left or middle lane, when right is free... even trucks. wtf with that... people just stick to a lane and keep there forever.

  • It is not illegal to pass on the right here in the USofA. Our cops are obsessed with cathing people speeding since that makes them money. They ignore most other traffic. I took a bunch of video today as part of my collection for LLB6 coming soon to a computer monitor near you. I appreciate your comment.

  • A while back, most vehicles in Germany didn't even come with a passenger side mirror. (I bet you didn't know that...!!!).

They had the mirror on the left (driver's) side, and of course, the rear view mirror, that's it. Passing on the right was UNHEARD of. All slow traffic remains in the right lane, the left lanes are strictly for passing (fast!). Ahhhh, makes me want to cry.

  • years ago most American cars didn't come with right side mirrors, now they all have them. passing on the right is probably more common than passing on the left around here. sad, but true.

  • Ha, ha. Now I have to eat my own words... but nice to know that I've learned something. I didn't know American cars didn't come with right side mirrors either. Yes, today, passing on the right is probably more common than passing on the left. :-)

  • I guess all vehicles around the world were like that before. I know that older cars had only a driver mirror and interior mirror, but I bet it wasn't only in Germany, as that also happened in Spain. Roads, security policy, etc. were different. About right/left lane, it still is the same in Europe... right lane is not for slow traffic. It's simple: if you're not overtaking, you MUST drive on the right lane.

  • in a perfect world, that would be so. instead we are treated to morons who pace then car in the right lane. Aghhhh

  • the new jersey turnpike-the worst road in nj the best is i-78

  • Oh please, 78 is narrow and bumpy. The turnpike is smooth and wide. No contest.

  • i was talking about traffic wise-one road i know that is bumpy and annoying is the bqe-the belt parkway in Brooklyn,ny and i-280 in nj

  • New York has "drive right except to pass" signs on their interstates every here and there....I can attest as a highwayman myself they are largley ignored. WTF is wrong with drivers today?? To fuckin busy talking or texting!!

  • Do any of the states that you drive in enforce the laws of blocking the left lane?

Which states are strict in speed enforcement and which go easy on the motorist?

Also, I have driven in Germany, Italy, Austria and Slovenia and traffic moves much faster than over here in the USA. I did not see any left lane bandits. The drivers are more skilled, educated and courteous.

  • Well, I know in Georgia, drivers drive in the number one lane even if several cars underpass them. It seems that enforcement of this (left lane whoring, as I call it) is rather lax.

  • In any city, such a law is pretty unenforceable due to traffic volume. Not to worry, I am gathering video clips for LLB VII. Colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra up here in Jersey. I think it is 4 degrees outside.

  • That's agreeable.

It's 19 degrees or so here in Atlanta. The weather prognosticators said it should warm up to about 60-something this weekend. Go figure, huh?

  • Although up here I get left laners that speed up when you pass them on the right. I pass them anyway on the right because I know when the lose they are just going to stay there and go really slow again.

  • Nothing is worse than those who speed up to keep you from passing. Look at my video titled "You ain't passing me" to see live action of this situation.

  • Wow and I thought Connecticut was bad.

  • In the Netherlands, the fine for overtaking on the right is higher than for sticking to the left lane unnecessary. It should've been the other way 'round...

  • Wow, if the cops on 13 put the effort in stopping these idiots as they do the dumb speed traps, we'll all be better off.

  • true but there is no money in that for them. I missed the red house but it looks the same.

  • Thanks for the update :)

  • Today, I saw a left lane bandit on I-85 North, just south of the Old National Highway (SR 279) interchange. The driver was an employee of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). :(

  • I'm certain this was more fun to watch than it was to actually drive :)

This is a national epidemic and needs to be stopped, what the hell is wrong with these people?

  • I have no idea Jim, like the road, it goes on and on I guess.
