Onions in adobo???? It's in some regional versions of adobo but that dish isn't "pretty much anything that's cooked in soy sauce, garlic, peppercorns and ONIONS!!!" Daggummit! It's bad enough that the guide served Bourdain adobo shrimp, he had to make it worse by botching the definition of adobo too! *facepalm*
I read the previous negative comments in the first part of this episode and I kept thinking , "cut the guide some slack" but now I agree with everyone! WTH is wrong with him?
oh God. this would give everybody in the world the impression all filipinos eat weird looking foods. i mean, ive been here all my life and I haven't eaten any of those.(although they are probably really good). they are going to think all our foods are prepared on unsanitary looking places. LOL. this isnt good.
@TheHoth1 Ya know, I asked my granddad about that when I was a kid. He said Filipinos don't eat with their eyes, but with their tastebuds. We don't place much value on presentation so the food really shouldn't be judged until after it's tasted.
Every time I see this video, some part of my being a Filipino dies. Really? Adobo shrimp? Really?? I feel like a minuscule piece of sago in a halo halo right now.. In the halo halo I imagine, I'm being replaced by shrimp..
better if they look for NANCY REYES-LUMEN she can really explain everything about the culinary culture of the Philippines not that chinese boy IVAN hahaha... and still there is a battle between adobo and sinigang for the national dish of the Philippines...

Why in Philippines, everything seems like diced up into small pieces. Maybe it tastes good but it doesn't look too good to me.

it should have been pronounced as "pa-pa-i-tan" from the root word "pait", meaning bitter which pertains to the bitterness of bile :D
