That's not the message at all. The message is that Stephane Dion's Liberals will initiate a massive recession by increasing the tax of everything at such a sensitive time economically. This carbon tax has got to go.
Uh huh, well apparently a leading Canadian economist related to Harper's government says a carbon tax would do no harm to the economy. (see here: greenparty[dot]ca/en/releases/12.09.2008) Which makes sense to me, since it'll raise taxes on carbon polluters but lower taxes on regular people.
Harper himself is a leading Canadian economist, I'm not going to take the advice of some wingnut the Green Party dug out of the pumpkin patch to lecture us on economics.
The corporations will pass on their incurred costs to us, the consumer, and will take the occasion to raise it a bit more to increase their profits as well. WE THE CONSUMER will end up paying.
Stephane Dion is trying to cripple our economy to pay for his promises in a time of economic uncertainty. We can't let this happen
Horse radish. We will be paying more to fill our cars with gas, to heat our homes, and even to use electricity for lights and fridges. This on top of the incurred costs from the energy companies.
This is a carbon tax. An increase in taxes. I really suspect you don't understand Dion's plan.
A tax shift? Hahahha, an how is Dion going to fund all these expensive pie-in-the-sky promises he is making? Does he have a money tree in his backyard?
Wake up buddy, the Liberals are going to implement a tax that will generate more revenue than the hated GST ever did. Don't fall for Liberal spin on this "shift" business - they will shift it from our wallets to their coffers!
the biggest lie that the liberals will feed you is that if you tax the heck out of rich people and give it all away to poor people, our country will become a better place.
because of a lot of economic and psychological reasons, this is not the case. all you do is force the rich people away and leave the country bankrupt with the poor people having no jobs (but i suppose if you voted for the liberals you didn't want work in the first place).
Well, the Liberals ripped off Jennifer Wright's trademarked Green Shift. Should the Liberal Party be thrown in jail and fined $20,000 each? Because you'd be a hypocrite if you felt otherwise, and I'm sure such a fine upstanding citizen as yourself isn't twofaced like that.
They settled out of court. And yes. they should pay her for stealing her trademark.
But I'm not for heavy handed copyright restrictions where no one can ever share art with each other. I prefer more rights and freedoms for us citizens.
Maybe you don't know but by supporting Harper you support these heavy handed fines for sharing of art, including reproducing his commercials without permission....
Wait a minute... You'll probably working for the Harper campaign and HAVE permission.
Lol agreed. He should make his own electric bike like I have.

I like how it says "We're better off with Harper", like he's not actually that good, just the better of the two evils.

Ummm... this ad isn't about the carbon tax. It's just Stephen Harper using his family man gimmick to try and woo voters.

We weren't talking about what the ad was about, but rather the messaging of the tag line. Pay attention to the thread!

Even if they do pass on the costs to us, it'll make no difference since we'll have lower taxes.

I say we let Harper be a full time dad and not reelect him.
I once thought Canadians weren't fooled by this right wing propaganda, but polls are showing otherwise.
I can only hope he does imprison SplattoMan for copyright violation on youtube. That would be ironic :)

I find it a reoccurring theme among lefties that any opinion that doesn't adhere to their style of thinking shouldn't be allowed to be expressed.
FREE SPEECH! As long as it's leftwing right? Sorry, dude, not in my Canada.

Please answer my original comment.
Aren't you violating Harper's copyright, don't you support throwing criminals who violate copyright (like you) in jail, or fining them $20,000?
Leftie, Rightie, there are morons on all sides.

Anyway. Your suggestions are ludicrous.

Yeah, we need a PM with the balls to break even his own laws if it suits him.
emperorinsaino 3 years ago
Try reading the law before making baseless statements. Even Dion indicated that he is not breaking the law on this one.
