In reality Orbitz doesn't give a damn about your beliefs, your sexual preferences, your genitals, nor your gender.
Orbitz simply markets to LGBT people to gain their business, that's all. Orbitz acknowledges LGBT people and in return LGBT people give Orbitz customer loyalty. This is what's called "Honor by Association," a fallacy of logic the same as "Guilt by Association." And realize that this is how all businesses view the 'LGBT Community' - As the most gullible demographic to solicit to.
If anyone is struggling with the sin and disease of homosexuality, please, turn to Christ for forgiveness and salvation, then seek medical and psychological treatment.
The whole DropFox thing doesn't make sense. Why would you want to boycott a gay friendly company like Orbitz and take your money to Priceline or another mainstream brand that has never spent a dime for the LGBT community. I can guarantee you that other LGBT brands are watching this and will realize that courting LGBT consumers is counter productive when they are simply opening themselves up to attacks. There goes the funding for GLAAD and Lamda Legal and tons of others.
@cychar: I've never said it was OK to advertise on Fox. What I'm saying is that its ironic and even counterproductive for LGBT rights to pick a company that does, simply BECAUSE that company is the most vulnerable due to having brand recognition in the LGBT community. Yet again: What company will now reach out to the LGBT community like Orbitz after this?
Dude you are a fool. Plain and simple. You fear truth and will manipulate and false truths for your own benefit. Do you seriously believe your rant against Orbit? Grow a set of morals and stop your insane spewing of filth
Orbitz cannot honestly claim to support the LGBT community while willingly sponsoring Fox News. Fox does more damage to their civil rights than Orbitz could ever do to help.
Skulander: You'd have to move into a cave if you boycotted all the companies that advertised on Fox. Every mainstream American company advertises there. Orbitz was explicitly targeted because it has a huge brand awareness in the LGBT community. It was chosen for maximum self serving publicity effect. What company will reach out to the LGBT community after this?
Faux News is a huge problem, and the snippets here are actually a very, very little example of the extent of homophobia going on at Fox. It's time for Orbitz to drop Fox. Not to mention that the way they treat us is unacceptable. No, Orbitz: we're not "shady and fringe": we're just ordinary LGBT folks who are pissed off at having our rights denied, being insulted, and being victim of homophobic attacks. Orbitz: be part of the solution and drop Fox. Don't be part of the endemic problem.
As a member of the LGBT community I know Orbitz is a gay-friendly company. It advertises on gay sites, its national television ads have people sporting the HR equality logo. It's ironic that it's exactly because of its brand recognition among the LGBT community that makes them a perfect target for economical terrorism like this. No need to target a company that has no LGBT clients, right? I wonder how many companies will ever want to reach out to the LGBT community after this?
@TheNicelander Reach out to th LGBT community? Are you kidding? So we should just lay down and take this because they advertise on gay sites? Please. As long as Orbitz supports the manipulative, hateful, anti-gay Fox news they are no friend of the LGBT community. I mean, can't you see how two-faced this is? If they were truly on our side then this wouldn't even be an issue!
@TheNicelander So as a member of the LGBT community, you think it's fine for a company like Orbitz that's supposedly gay-friendly to support a blatantly anti-homosexual broadcast company? Mind you that Fox News is part of News Corporation, the third largest media corporation on the planet. That said, how much do you think Orbitz has to dump into Fox in order for advertising space/air time? Do you think it's fine to propagate homophobic sentiments with that much financial support?
FOX and their people are such lame putzes
