In reality Orbitz doesn't give a damn about your beliefs, your sexual preferences, your genitals, nor your gender.

Orbitz simply markets to LGBT people to gain their business, that's all. Orbitz acknowledges LGBT people and in return LGBT people give Orbitz customer loyalty. This is what's called "Honor by Association," a fallacy of logic the same as "Guilt by Association." And realize that this is how all businesses view the 'LGBT Community' - As the most gullible demographic to solicit to.

The whole DropFox thing doesn't make sense. Why would you want to boycott a gay friendly company like Orbitz and take your money to Priceline or another mainstream brand that has never spent a dime for the LGBT community. I can guarantee you that other LGBT brands are watching this and will realize that courting LGBT consumers is counter productive when they are simply opening themselves up to attacks. There goes the funding for GLAAD and Lamda Legal and tons of others.

Orbitz was explicitly targeted because it has a huge brand awareness in the LGBT community. It was chosen for maximum self serving publicity effect. Faux News is a huge problem, and the snippets here are actually a very, very little example of the extent of homophobia going on at Fox. It's time for Orbitz to drop Fox. Not to mention that the way they treat us is unacceptable. No, Orbitz: we're not "shady and fringe": we're just ordinary LGBT folks who are pissed off at having our rights denied, being insulted, and being victim of homophobic attacks. Orbitz: be part of the solution and drop Fox. Don't be part of the endemic problem.

As a member of the LGBT community I know Orbitz is a gay-friendly company. It advertises on gay sites, its national television ads have people sporting the HR equality logo. It's ironic that it's exactly because of its brand recognition among the LGBT community that makes them a perfect target for economical terrorism like this. No need to target a company that has no LGBT clients, right? I wonder how many companies will ever want to reach out to the LGBT community after this?
