Listening to The Corries always takes me back to my childhood, aged 11, when my dad & I would play our guitars & sing Corries songs together. Happy Memories of a happy childhood.
Dressed to the nines in tartan... couldn't get my bestman or groomsmen to wear kilts, though. The piper piped us out of the sanctuary to this, played a couple of wedding tunes as folks came out, and bookended it with Highland Laddie. I still weep to hear Brown Haired Maiden piped.
I'm sure, it was a lovely service. It's so important to have memories like this. And I think, kilt is a manly thing to wear: if I was a boy, I wouldn't let any opportunity pass by, to wear it!!
anyone know where you can download corrie songs onto mp3 as an mp3 file i ripped some of a cd but all my other fave corrie songs are on about 7 different cassetes somewhere in my room
It sounds like they are saying my name, Maenyn but they are saying maiden lol

I prefer this in the Gaelic, kind of loses some of its quality in English.

This was the pipe tune my wife and I walked out to at our wedding. Brings back sweet memories of our youth. Thank you for posting.
