I have aquestion: how many hours per week do you train? And besides the gym, do you also practice at home or something like that? Thank you so much :)
my daughters gy m where she cheers at look at me like im a total nutcase when i say i would love to play around on the tampoline..even tried to get a parent team.. still looked at like im nuts.. i wish i knew where i could go to use the gymnastics equipment here in Jersey (mercer)
Have you just tried talking with the coaches? This is what I did and, yes, they thought I was absolutely crazy. They ended up putting me in the HS Cheer class (I'm 32). For 2 months, I did this and now I workout with the 8, 9, & 10's.
I now do giants, standing tucks on beam, tumble, and occasionally vault with them. EVERYONE thinks I am a complete nutjob....but I am more healthy than I have ever been. Great form of workout and the best decision I have ever made.
So, is this your first time taking gymnastics classes? I'm asking b/c I'm 18, have virtually no experience, and am considering taking an adult gymnastics class.
Yes, it was my first time ever taking a formal class. I could, however, do cartwheels and roundoffs beforehand, so I knew a little. I truly had a blast in the class. :)
i can't wait til i'm done with my neurology treatments and am cleared to get back into gymnastics... already talked to my old coach at the gym i went to as a kid and they're ready for me as soon as i'm allowed. seems like it will never come! great videos though. :-)

At the time, only 2-3 hours a week. At home, I practiced handstands a lot (and stretched as much as possible).

Wow how long have you been doing the class?

About a year and a half, twice a week with the occasional private lesson. Then I had a baby. Just getting back to it these days though.
