yeah!Future islands is awesome. The way they put together strong vocals in opposite to the colorful melodies made by so hard sensitive and heartbreaking lyrics could be a strange mix, but they are able to do it and do it so good

This band is a good guitarist away from being a great band. Love the album. I would give it an 8.5 out of ten because the good stuff is so good that it makes up for the weaker moments (brief though they are).

You finally reviewed my favorite LP of 2010! I strongly disagree with your review in part, but thanks for exposing more critical music listeners to this wonderful band.

I guess I've listened to "In Evening Air" so much now that its faults all blend into a seamless whole. I think the instrumental is brief but beautifully composed (as is all the synth work) and "Inch of Dust" ends abruptly but not senselessly. I'll only complain that you didn't mention "Long Flight," which I find ENTHRALLING.

The singer's name is Sam, he's a personal friend of mine, and he deserves every bit of fame he for whatever reason has not received. SPECTACULAR album.

Tin Man is my favorite track. You need to see them live. It will blow your mind.

Now here's a record that will make my "best of 2010" list. although yes it does kinda fall short at some points. if i were them i would've scrapped "As I Fall", smoothed out the production on "Tin Man" and definitely make "Inch of Dust" and "Vireo's Eye" longer to where it actually felt like an album (you gotta get some 5, 6 and/00r 7 minutes tracks in there!).

if it had all that i'd give it a strong 8 to light 9 but...since they didn't, i'll give it a strong 7 to light 8.
