SON-OF-GUN; JUST MADE IT!!! In 1977 "Tryin' To Love Two" peaked at No. 10 thus just making the Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 15 weeks in the Hot Top 100...
On April 2nd, 1977 it would become the No. 1 record on Billboard's R&B chart...
A bit of trivia I have never forgotten: When US magazine launched in 1977, in the first issue they had top ten lists, and this was the top song. I remember even looking at the page and thinking, Great song! But then it quickly vanished and I never heard it again....until now.
what about bein in love wit a married woman , when you know shes sleepin wit her husband at night and all you can do is toss and turn in bed ,she tells you they not sleepin together but really 3 oclock IN THE MORNIN WAT U THINK GOIN ON
Hello, Thanks for posting this song. I was around when this song and others came out, buy William. I loved him then and I love him now. This song is only depressing for those who are trying to love two or more. This is from someone who knows . If you going to try and love more than one woman at a time then leave them both alone.
i'm trying to love 2 women back in 1979 and that was a beautiful experience i love that it was plenty of fun i never got caught and i have 4 kids by the both of them my sons always ask why i keep playing that song all i can do is laugh
I totally disagree with you 300% ! It is a known fact that women have always schemed on a level that is far beyond that of any man, and they have their girlfriends and other women to back them up totally. But, when men do it they are called dogs, liars, cheaters, deadbeats and any other derrogatory name that may or may not exist.

@TheGemini90 EXCELLENT musical observation!!!!! It is quite reminiscent of David Ruffin's classic...This cut is just a tad bit faster. You can tell TRUE music lovers. :)
OMG!!!! I remember this classic from William Bell. I was in elementary school when this came out and I heard this on the radio....can we say back in 1976. William Bell had one of the biggest hits of that year...1976,when this went Number One on the R&B charts. A great year for some classic R&B and Soul that had Johnnie Taylor, Tyrone Davis, and Issac Hayes and the great William Bell.
that same very night her mother left her father and my woman dump me so the sister i made love to we got married and she was much nicer we have 6 kids qradrulets 4 sons and 2 daughters. and every time i heard this song i laugh cause i was dating 2 women at the same time and my sons tryin that shit i put a stop to it. cheyenne came up to me and said she was sorry for leaving but i told you was always here she said how i show her a picture of me with her sister and our 6 kids she just left hahahah
and when i went i saw my woman and she said where your clothes at and i was looking at her like how she beat me down stairs and in business clothes that fast so i started to freak out then i said i'm in my house she said her parents are outside. i went upstairs and put on some yard clothes went back down and then she came down stairs and said she ready for round 2 then all hell broke loose who's this woman and her mother said who are and her father said that's my daughter your twin sister
well it was 1977 when i first heard this and i was dating this woman name cheyenne and we was in love and everytime she used to come to my house i would be jamming this song and she would get mad and thought i was cheating on her. well one night i came home from work and she was in this sexy dress and i ask her why you wearing that and why are you in the cold she wanted to make love. so i carried her inside and when i got inside the house we made love and i was going down stairs to get some food
That's my cut.

It's a little ironic that the music sounds similar to the music in 'I'm Gonna Walk Away From Your Love' by David Ruffin but I still like this song.
