Yeah - not quite 20 years - 89,90,91 USA F1 Grand Prix were run in Phoenix - it was a relatively rubbish street circuit by F1 standards (though it had a few interesting sections). However - even the worst circuit beats a boring oval any day. Ovals are shit!
You obviously have no idea about circuit racing. In 1 lap there is more technique and car control going on (line selection, braking, cornering, accelerating combinations) than an entire lifetime of oval racing.
There's more passiing on the freeway every minute than an F1 race too - but it don't mean anything as it's meaningless straightline driving - and an oval is nothing but a curved straight (meaning there's no real corners introducing driving skill into the picture.)
Line selection? There's much more line selection in oval racing since there're more lines to choose from.
Braking and accellerating is relatively mild on ovals, but on the other hand the margin for error is much smaller while on the other hand the speeds and the number of duells are much higher.
Bottom line, if it's so easy to do then there's no excuse for you not signing up for an oval race and win. Drop me a line when you won Indianapolis.

wow, look at the "safety standarts" at that time. these guardrails along the track. they look as if one could bend them with his own hands. and on these tracks they raced with inycars. well, better than nothing at this time.
Pete is my cousin, but its sad to me that his career in Indycars never took off. he finished in the top 5 at cleveland in 83 or 85. Really good sports car racers and did alot of development work for acura and mazda.
the drivers front legs were totally exposed in those cars. Not just that, notice the fans in the infield totally unprotected from a car coming down. That is what tells me God is a racing fan, as more people were not hurt back then.
