Interesting idea. You must have a very soft grip and slow back swing to be able to wait for the club to make your wrists hinge. I don't think everyone can do it.
I think for a lot of older golfers they wouldn't be able to make this swing. It worked for Jack, just like Furyk's swing works for him. Golfers need to work within their current physical capabilities. Great analogy of Jack's swing though.
This is Jack Nicklaus's wrist hinge. I have tried this move in the past, but I never could master it. You try it and let me know how it works for you.
fella. why is your head tilted? why tense your jaw muscles and pull that funny face? why? COZ YOUR SWING IS SHIT. oh and the left heel ONLY lifts 1.5 inch and turn by 2 inch. not like yours!! muppets on you tube. IM A PRO- SO I KNOW
In my opinion, Nicklaus' hinge, and thus the LAG, came from his dynamic transition into the downswing. By aggressively moving into his left side to start the downswing, Nicklaus was able to retain the angle of his wrist set and, most importantly, the 'load' of his clubshaft, better than anyone who's played the game. Even as an older player, Nicklaus' dynamics allowed him to load the shaft as well as anyone.
well said! The natural wrist hinge is a result of a full body coil and no conscious thought of hingeing the wrists, very powerful position to be in, hingeing early in many cases can lead to a reduced coil.....

Well said but strangely performed. He is turning so much that he is straightening his spine. no need to go that far before the club is hinged
