He originally joined 'cause they (falsely) promised him Scientology would cure him of his gayness. He said other gays likely joined for the same reason too. Cruise-y Tom? Dancin' queen John Travolta? There's lots of rumour and anecdotal evidence those two led gay lives, but seem to be trying to live hetero lives nowadays, just as someone attempting to get "cured" would do.

I go to the Scientology church in Nashville sometimes - every time I go they have different DVDs, booklets, flyers that they give out for free. I saw hundreds of Dianetics admission tickets left all over Rivefront park during CMA awards. Instead of reprinting more of the same, they should take that budget and, donate the money to a park or a school if they ever want to get any kind of positive response. Have them adopt a couple of streets to clean up.
