I wrote a song 2 days ago with guitar solo, piano intro, chords, lyrics, bridge and all that in 20 min. I thought to myself: "how hard can it be to write a song?" and i'm very pleased with it and it's not bad for a 14 year old to make a song like that.

yea, 2 years and you have an alright grasp of it. The main factor is how much time you put into it on a regular daily basis. I've taken lessons since i was 5 years old, sooo a good 15 years.

15 years, long time indeed! I put in 1 & 1/2 hrs a day, every day. I've just started lessons 3 months ago. Wish my teacher were like you, mine is a Russian woman who loves duets (which make me nervous.) She will skip a chapter in our book and have me wing new things. So much homework also. And count, and count, out loud, out loud, anyhow shes growing on me. She just does things by the seat of her pants at times and I'm more grounded and like structure.
