    It's funny hearing another peson use the GUMPS checklist. Were you shooting for the numbers on your power off 180? I was taught to shoot for the thousand foot markers.

  • @LUpilot2012 They don't teach the GUMPS checklist here for some reason, but it is something that will save you if you run the checklist and get interrupted before you get to the gear. This same plane was landed gear up the other day, if it wasn't mechanical having the habit of doing GUMPS on short final would have prevented it. I doubt they were taught it. My instructor wanted me to aim for the numbers, so on both the short and 180 I was aiming right in-between the 9 and L.

  • Nice video. I got my commercial in an arrow back in 1989. I'm actually getting checked out in one this week (haven't flown one in 20 years). I've been flying bigger and faster stuff since then, but I'm looking forward to getting back in the Arrow again. Your video brings back a lot of memories of my flight training. Good job!
