The movie they are watching is very Bruce Conner. If you don not know the name wiki him. I went to the Film Forum in NYC for a collection of his works last month and it was the best 140 min of montage I have ever seen. I love the Mile-End (Montreal) locations in the video. The scene where the guy walks along a red brick building took me a while to place but it is rue Marmier under the Rosemont overpass just east of de Gaspé. The outside of 'Albatross' is Cinéma Beaubien; he walks from the park across the street. The underpass and metal stairs are at Clark under the rail-road tracks. The inside of the theatre and the stairs the woman goes up are in Cinéma L'Amour on Saint-Laurent. (thanks Street View!)
