Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen Mic'd Up

In Mullen's first year at Mississippi State, he put them in a position to win 8 to 9 games....and would have very easily done it, if not for the 5 turnovers they had in the close losses...examples(Houston, LSU,Ga. Tech)...in 2010 they cut down on the turnovers, got a little luck and won 9. I'm hoping for the same performance next year...although realistically, we should be happy with 7 regular season wins in 2011....the West is so freaking strong....but we're working hard. We love you Coach!

I've received a few responses to my comment, so let me explain. Urban runs the offense at Florida by committee, and Urban is very involved in the game planning. Mullen did not "run the offense", he made MOST of the gameday play calling. Mullen has no business stepping into running an SEC program. Richt, for example, RAN the offense at FSU. Mullen didn't @ UF.

If MSU thinks that they're going to see UF's offense at MSU are in for a big surprise. Not enough talent to make it work at MSU- sorry.

I've already explained how he definitely wasn't an offensive coordinator in the same sense that Richt was. Bowden had nothing to do with the running of the offense when Richt was at FSU. At Florida, it's Meyer's offense and Mullen called most of the plays- if it was a big call in a game Meyer usually made it, and Meyer set the game plan.

Again, if you think that he can cut it in the SEC, good luck to you and your team. It's your kind of wishful thinking that has OLE Miss passing you guys by.

You may want to ask a few South Carolina fans how a coaches stats while coaching the gators translates to their program. Florida's offense had a lot more to do with Tebow, Harvin, Demps and Murphy than Mullen, but believe what you will.

I'm not saying that Mullin is going to come in and set the world on fire, but as far as "Ole Miss passing MSU by", people were saying the exact same things about OM in '07 when MSU went to the Liberty Bowl. "MSU has passed OM", "There is no talent on the OM team", "It will take several years to turn OM around." They then got a competent head coach and proved everybody wrong.

Again, not saying Mullen is a savior, but there is nothing on his resume that indicates he won't be competent as a HC.

Some of you say he is the mastermind of the offense and did most of the recruiting, while others say he just twiddled his thumbs while Meyer called the shots at Utah and UF. Don't know which one is true, but I do know that he is making a huge impact already. Why do you even care in the first place?
