I have been going through some really haard times lately and I went with my friend to her youth group Now, I have been a Christian since I was 7, but i kept falling into temptation so i was feeling really low. But back to bein at my friends youth, they played this song during the alter call time. i amost started crying. I went forward and prayed for forgiveness and for help to not fall back into temptation. I felt so much better after that. This song has such an important meaning.
Well i love this song bc this was the song my mawmaw gave me when i was in the hospital for suicide bc of my father i was always a christian but when i was being molested and abused i lost all belief in god i was mad at him and well i realized it wasnt his fault nor mine so when i was in the hospital my preachercalled me everynight and prayed with me and now i dont go anywhere without praying first im so close to god now.. @fkghi In Matthew &7:21-23 it is referring to the people who either try to get to heaven by good works or the only reason they "follow" God is because they want to do miracles. Read Acts 8. It is the story about Simon the sorcerer who only wants to be a believer because he sees other believers doing miracles and he wants the power. He had a fake faith because he was in it for himself. Authentic faith is when we are following God for God.

@fkghi Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, NOT of works, lest anyone should boast." That is the only way that salvation happens, we cannot do enough good works to get to heaven. God wants us to do good works so that we may glorify Him not ourselves but we cheapen God's grace and salvation to where it's about us when we say we have to work our way into heaven.

Job 25 talks about the son of men but Jesus was not a son of men since He was born of a virgin. According to some of the books of the prophets they talk about Jesus being the Son of Man which goes on to say that He is human but He is also God.
You might say my faith is silly but I believe in a God that saves me by His grace not by our works cause my works aren't good enough to please God.
@fkghi remember when I said that Jesus emptied himself in Philippians 2:7-8? When Jesus emptied Himself of such things to be a human He was no longer in complete unity with God the Father which set Him apart from the knowledge of the Day of Judgment but now that Jesus has ascended to the right hand of God the Father He is back in that unity. Jesus refers to him being a human many times and if we lose sight of that such questions will arises instead of us realizing the sacrifice He made for us.
@fkghi Jesus says in John 10:30 and in 17:11 that He and His Father are One. He goes on to say in John 14:9 that whoever has seen the Son has seen the Father. Once again He is claiming to be equal to God and to be God. Jesus did show His full glory and power there because as He says numerous times it wasn't his time yet. His time was when He took the sins of the world upon His shoulders and died with them and three days later rising up again conquering sin, death, and hell.
@JaredDKelley oh and Philippians 2:5-6 says "Let this mind be in you which is in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God," This once again says that He was equal with God and this only makes sense if we know that Jesus and God are one in the same like Jesus claimed.
@fkghi To worship something means to put that thing in front of everything else in your life and honor that above all else. God seeks His own glory above all else cause He is the only one worthy of all worship and praise. Countless times throughout the old testament God chastises and blesses His children but the reason is so that they may turn from their wicked way and glorify Him. Ex 20:5 says God is a jealous God and He desires and deserves our worship.
@fkghi When Jesus said that His Father is greater than Him it is because when Jesus Came to erath He emptied himself of all His previous power and glory to become human so that He could live a blameless life so He would be worthy to die and take the sin of those who believe on Him away. That is also why He says He cannot do anything on His own. He is referring to being a human and relating to us in that we can do nothing without God.
@fkghi In Islam they believe Jesus as being only a prophet. When Jesus says He will sit at the right hand of God doesn't make sense if Jesus is God unless we understand the parts of God. When the bible says God it usually refers to God the Father and when it says Jesus it usually means Jesus the Son both parts of God. It's like this silly analogy there are parts of an egg: the yoke, the white, and the shell...without one of these parts the egg is no longer an egg and that's like the parts of God

@fkghi Christianity teaches that Jesus is fully God and fully man. It's not that Mary had sex with God or anything, it's that God loved us so much that He was willing to come to earth as a man. We both believe in a God that can do anything, and that includes being fully man and being fully God. @fkghi also, when Jesus was walking on water, He said to the disciples "Do not fear, I am here" That's ONE way it can be translated, but the Greek text is also translated as "Do not fear, I AM", and "I AM" is the name of Yahweh in the OT. You can say it was just a possible possibility, but think about it in terms of context. And I am not understanding what you are saying about Pharaoh... and it is true... no man will EVER be worthy of being God... only God can be God and Jesus is God

Jesus was talking to believers when he said go to my father. We are gods sons through adoption when we believe in him. Jesus is and was God's son from the beginning. Jesus said in John 8:58 before Abraham was born, I am. That phrase "I am" in Greek is Eimi. In the old testament Hebrew it is the same word from the burning bush when God told Moses: tell them "I am" sent you.
ezekiel 23 :4 : "...Oholah is Samaria and Oholibah is Jerusalem." Its telling how the countries defiled God and turned against him and then later speaks of their punishment. The bible in no-way encourages what they do, in fact it is making an example of what will happen to you if you lust, commit adultery, turn your back on God, and sin against him. Ezekiel 23 is a warning to all women and men, sin like the sisters Oholah (samaria) and Oholibah (jerusalem) and you will face the wrath of God.

I have been going through some really haard times lately and I went with my friend to her youth group Now, I have been a Christian since I was 7, but i kept falling into temptation so i was feeling really low. But back to bein at my friends youth, they played this song during the alter call time. i amost started crying. I went forward and prayed for forgiveness and for help to not fall back into temptation. I felt so much better after that. This song has such an important meaning.

Well i love this song bc this was the song my mawmaw gave me when i was in the hospital for suicide bc of my father i was always a christian but when i was being molested and abused i lost all belief in god i was mad at him and well i realized it wasnt his fault nor mine so when i was in the hospital my preachercalled me everynight and prayed with me and now i dont go anywhere without praying first im so close to god now.. @fkghi In Matthew &7:21-23 it is referring to the people who either try to get to heaven by good works or the only reason they "follow" God is because they want to do miracles. Read Acts 8. It is the story about Simon the sorcerer who only wants to be a believer because he sees other believers doing miracles and he wants the power. He had a fake faith because he was in it for himself. Authentic faith is when we are following God for God.

That is the only way that salvation happens, we cannot do enough good works to get to heaven. God wants us to do good works so that we may glorify Him not ourselves but we cheapen God's grace and salvation to where it's about us when we say we have to work our way into heaven.

Job 25 talks about the son of men but Jesus was not a son of men since He was born of a virgin. According to some of the books of the prophets they talk about Jesus being the Son of Man which goes on to say that He is human but He is also God.
You might say my faith is silly but I believe in a God that saves me by His grace not by our works cause my works aren't good enough to please God.

@fkghi remember when I said that Jesus emptied himself in Philippians 2:7-8? When Jesus emptied Himself of such things to be a human He was no longer in complete unity with God the Father which set Him apart from the knowledge of the Day of Judgment but now that Jesus has ascended to the right hand of God the Father He is back in that unity. Jesus refers to him being a human many times and if we lose sight of that such questions will arises instead of us realizing the sacrifice He made for us.

@fkghi Jesus says in John 10:30 and in 17:11 that He and His Father are One. He goes on to say in John 14:9 that whoever has seen the Son has seen the Father. Once again He is claiming to be equal to God and to be God. Jesus did show His full glory and power there because as He says numerous times it wasn't his time yet. His time was when He took the sins of the world upon His shoulders and died with them and three days later rising up again conquering sin, death, and hell.

@fkghi To worship something means to put that thing in front of everything else in your life and honor that above all else. God seeks His own glory above all else cause He is the only one worthy of all worship and praise. Countless times throughout the old testament God chastises and blesses His children but the reason is so that they may turn from their wicked way and glorify Him. Ex 20:5 says God is a jealous God and He desires and deserves our worship.

@fkghi When Jesus said that His Father is greater than Him it is because when Jesus Came to erath He emptied himself of all His previous power and glory to become human so that He could live a blameless life so He would be worthy to die and take the sin of those who believe on Him away. That is also why He says He cannot do anything on His own. He is referring to being a human and relating to us in that we can do nothing without God.

@fkghi In Islam they believe Jesus as being only a prophet. When Jesus says He will sit at the right hand of God doesn't make sense if Jesus is God unless we understand the parts of God. When the bible says God it usually refers to God the Father and when it says Jesus it usually means Jesus the Son both parts of God. It's like this silly analogy there are parts of an egg: the yoke, the white, and the shell...without one of these parts the egg is no longer an egg and that's like the parts of God

@fkghi Christianity teaches that Jesus is fully God and fully man. It's not that Mary had sex with God or anything, it's that God loved us so much that He was willing to come to earth as a man. We both believe in a God that can do anything, and that includes being fully man and being fully God. God could have chosen to stay aloof from humanity, but instead He chose to BE WITH us in the most intimate way possible - as 1 of us. God bless you.

Then my mom had a seizure which really did not help with the stress part. I didn't spend time with God or pray about what i was going through. I can't do anything without Him. Stay close to Jesus (:

@fkghi old testament God took out cities for his people but he did give those cities a chance to repent which they chose not to. once again that was their choice. Actually islam came out of Abraham's loin in the old testament when he begot Ishmael from his wife's handmaiden so truthfully even allah (sorry if i mispelled) islamic religion goes back to God in the old testament and once again became another god besides the true God that was worshipped. @fkghi also, when Jesus was walking on water, He said to the disciples "Do not fear, I am here" That's ONE way it can be translated, but the Greek text is also translated as "Do not fear, I AM", and "I AM" is the name of Yahweh in the OT. You can say it was just a possible possibility, but think about it in terms of context. And I am not understanding what you are saying about Pharaoh... and it is true... no man will EVER be worthy of being God... only God can be God and Jesus is God

@fkghi what verse are you talking about? and no, the Lord does not 'beget', but the Bible isn't saying that God actually gave birth or had sexual relations with a woman or anything like that, there's a passage in the Bible where Jesus actually talks with a Pharisee about being born a 'second time'. it is a spiritual birth, and Jesus was born physically, yes, but when Jesus was born He was born both fully man and fully God...

This song is so powerful, and it brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. It was the first song I listened to after truly discovering Jesus and for that it will always mean so much. :)

this song is amazing! I have been struggling spirtually to the point where I had decided I didnt believe in God. But I have came back to him in the past few weeks, and today the words "this world has nothing for me" came into my head and I was like where have I heard this. I googled it and thank God I did! fkghi, im a little late to the conversation but in mark 14:62 jesus said he was god. and it was so apparent to the religious leaders of his day what he was saying that they imediately called for his death for blasphemy. he loves you man and died for my sins and your sins. his question still remains.....how shall you escape if you reject so great salvation? ask and ye shall receive.

Jesus was talking to believers when he said go to my father. We are gods sons through adoption when we believe in him. Jesus is and was God's son from the beginning. Jesus said in John 8:58 before Abraham was born, I am. That phrase "I am" in Greek is Eimi. In the old testament Hebrew it is the same word from the burning bush when God told Moses: tell them "I am" sent you.

ezekiel 23 :4 : "...Oholah is Samaria and Oholibah is Jerusalem." Its telling how the countries defiled God and turned against him and then later speaks of their punishment. The bible in no-way encourages what they do, in fact it is making an example of what will happen to you if you lust, commit adultery, turn your back on God, and sin against him.
