  • LOL! Some of the stuff being shown doesn't even belong to Titan. The quarry is already there. Been there for over 50 years. Titan already owns it as well as most of the ready mix plants in the area. They just haven't changed the names yet. SURPRISE!

  • cry about the economy when a new plants wants to open and create jobs do all you can to stop it so yuo can draw wellfare and live of the state fuck you you lazy fuckers i hope you and your families all starve to death

  • There not worried about the environment. There just scared some more working class people might move into there rich, uptight neighborhoods. They want Wilmington to be like Myrtle Beach, a tourist trap.

  • "Big Talker" radio says WASTEC emits more mercury than Titan will, why are you not protesting WASTEC, if mercury hazards is your true modivation for your opposition?

  • @deeredad It has been shut down

  • "Big Talker" Radio says Wastec produces more mercury than Titan will. Why are you protesting Wastec?

  • To relate your commentary on the movie industry connection with the plant, I talked to people who worked with Jim Henson on one of the Muppet Movies, which was filmed in the Ideal Cement quarry, and they tell me that everyone on the set was suffering respiratory distress during the prolonged location shoots. Henson himself suffered considerably and never quite recovered. He eventually died of pneumonia.

  • I m french and live in australia... doing a case study on this whole affair as part of an assignment, even though i can t help you, you have my support!

  • Good luck. We, Friends of Indian Land (Indian Land, SC) have been fighting the concrete industry & government for two years now. Four concrete plants were built within 50 ft. of families' homes and 1/2 mi. from our school complex.

  • I hope they don't tear down that haunted factory. I researched it and its a ghost hunter's paradise. I just hope they leave it alone. In that case i'd say that I would join who ever is protesting against Titan.

  • In addition to my recent comment, I figured out that the mistaken factory (Ideal Cement Factory), is not a sister company to those Titan Cement people, so YAY!!!(=, I'm happy that, that haunted-abandoned factory won't be involved with the mess. If I had to pick a side in this argument I would just stay neutral or whatever is best for anyone elses opinions- (Not try to kiss ass but I have no voice in this predicament.)

  • Youve gotta problem here...I get the concept of preventing titan cement, but 2:37 - 2:46 & 5:05 is not the proposed Titan facility, thats the abandoned Ideal Cement Factory that is not running. The Titan Facility is miles and miles away from that one. Check google earth again, you'll find it. The Ideal Cement factory should be left alone, its been a real help to filmakers in movies like The Crow, Super Mario Bros, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Its not running so I don't think its a problem.

  • @TwistedReaper23 The abandoned Ideal factory is indeed the propsoed location of the new Titan / Carolinas Cement factory / mine.
