  • Thank you Fallout!!!

  • This song played on my Ipod today after I just told this beautiful woman how I felt about her and all she said was "aww"

    someone shoot me

  • i wish we could go back to then. from a wishful youngster <3

  • Fallout got me started and now all my iPhone holds is Jazz and sort the likes from the old days.

oh those 40's, the last great hooray to elegance and style :D

  • I hear it in fallout first, but I like it because the music is really good!

  • I usually listen to this music when I'm feeling depressed, and then I listen to this song and accidentally cheer myself up :)

  • 1940s was a great moment for music now its just kinda suckish

  • I never really liked any videos until I started playing 50's from Fallout. It's just I felt like I had to... It's just that voice.

  • ...wait....so Billie Holiday lives in a post-apocalyptic vault?

  • @xJamesxKingx no...shes dead, she's been dead for almost 51 years now...but her music will live on!

  • @xJamesxKingx nope mate but vinyls are the one thing about music that survived the nuclear fallout :)

  • Fallout did manage to use some real class. Holiday, Sinatra, Martin. Taught the younger generation to appreciate the best music has to offer.

  • To be honest alot of her songs I wouldn't like if they weren't in fallout...

  • @meowmixparty thats shitty. you should like it because its billie holiday, not because its fallout. you appreciate it because its good. fallouts just trying to introduce you to it

  • @TheMitchellBrown I think us Fallout players should get our own opinion. E.g. Im listening to it because of nostalgia and because it makes me think about the game which is my Favorite game in history. Im definitely not the only one either so I dont see how u seem to know why we are here. Im not saying the music is bad either because its good in its own way. I would not plan on going to a concert or playing it out to my friends on my ipod. Its kind of a self comforting song you listen to. =D

  • this song gives me visions of Bogart with a drink and smoke in a club with Bacall for company. i also have visions of a big nasty deathclaw or rad scorpions heading my way fast.

  • thumbs up if your here because of fallout

  • I love the music from the 1940s, written in such a different time, for a such a different person.

    so relaxing

  • Anyone else hearing Misty while listening to this? Haha, wonderful music.

  • That piano is blowing my mind right now

  • @mmartine32 I wish i could super-like a comment. Thumbs up isn't quite enough haha. And that oboe at like :28, it's weird, but if you dissect it, figure it out, man. Blows my mind.

  • love that clarinet intro

  • i love how people are accepting here that someone has heard this from a game, but on other videos u are a gaywad for finding it on a game, to tell the truth it doesnt matter how much longer someone has known about it than another.. were all here right?

  • @MrGhost321 totally agree man i know this song from fallout

  • I will have a Radio there i can hear to this songs like Galaxie News Radio

  • Roaming the post apocalyptic wasteland with this song was pure joy, one of my fondest video game memories.

  • i just loved listening to this song in fallout 3. Like i would go on a really high cliff where i could see the sunset, and wait for this song to come up.

  • I set this as my ringtone, it's just that good.

  • @rahxephon52

Man, I want this as my ringtone too.

  • @hotdogman67 = D

  • @rahxephon52 i set it as my ring tone.

  • Which video game was this in? I see all these comments talking about video games?

  • @SantanaScripts fallout series

  • @Uniicore Oh ok. I haven't finished that game

  • @SantanaScripts fallout 3

  • @SantanaScripts Fallout 3

  • It's fun to see that by performing the simple act of pasting a picture of Bille Holiday on this song instead of a picture of a man on power armor (or similar) the uploader disconnected this song with the Fallout 3 game. Think about it- you'd rather listen to this song with this picture than with a Fallout picture, would you not?

  • @cat2556 I listen to this without any picture

  • You people complain about how "oh yeah i didnt find this off a game" and saying we shouldnt and its stupid, well If I didnt I would've never discovered this woman and found her fantastic music.

  • Rockstar should've put this song in L.A. Noire.

    That would've been beyond epic.

  • i hate today's music. this old stuff rocks

  • WTF IS FALLOUT 3?

  • @kirbyderby2000 Are you brain damaged?

  • @kirbyderby2000 It's a video game dude and a good one at that

  • @kirbyderby2000 lol...

  • Her voice is so amazing. Back before auto-tuning people needed talent to do this.

  • I don't know what the race debate is all about but calling someone an African American is really inaccurate considering most Blacks in America aren't from Africa and any other person of another race whos family is from Africa and he was born in Africa and moved to America would be called White, Asian, Hispanic etc not African American.

Also, I agree that video games are a great way to spread art with more people even though video games aren't art in themselves.

  • @klm4298 since when are video games not art?

  • I'm glad other people are discovering Billie Holiday through Fallout, nice, creative way of the directors to introduce players to jazz

  • @seansocheap Definitely! I love this genre and I'm so glad Fallout 3 put these songs on there. Great music. :)

  • @seansocheap this isnt jazz, its slow swing

  • I had the most but the best daydream ever! While listening to this song I was Daydreaming that I was going to hook up my laptop to a BIG FAT SPEAKER, put it to full volume and let America hear REAL music.

  • I am so completely in love with this song. I could listen to it 1000 times in a row and never get tired of it.

  • this is the REAL music people these days SUCK AND DON'T USE THERE REAL VOISE PUT BACK THIS MUSIC THUMB UP U AGREE!

  • @TheStickman482 thumbs down for telling me to thumb up

  • @DigFowler She didn't OD.

  • Can anybody tell me what key this song is in please?

  • Video not available on mobile my ass, wasn't last week

    ..

  • hey man, can you tell me the year of this take, thank you

  • I'm 14 and I love hardcore/Post-Hardcore music and I love hearing 50's music like this because it shows what are great country was like back then. :)

  • I wana kiss this woman!! :')

  • Funny how all the comments are about Fallout 3.

  • If you children love this type of music and want it to still be mainstream, just picture today's world like Fallout's alternate timeline. We still live in a 50's-style setting, yet technology has advanced much more. A good, ideal vision, but if it lives up to Fallout's timeline, then we'd all be wiped out by nuclear war, too.

  • the audio is so old.....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

  • stupid high schools dont play slow songs -__-

  • If you think about about it, videogames are one of the few places where people of today can hear music like this. Because radios today all repeat the same "Top 10" song like 10 times every hour

  • @St00pidN1gga try this radio: 1940sukradio.co.uk

  • @St00pidN1gga

Fallout New Vegas introduced me to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Gerhard Trede.

  • heard this from one of my favorite video games fallout 3.I love the 30s and 40s music it's still sad that we lost such an amazing singer to have ever lived. T-T

  • I don't believe in racism but I always pictured her to be " White "

And to look somewhat like this img3.visualizeus . com/thumbs/69/c8/beauty,black,and,white,chaise,classy,elegant,fashion,glamour,vintage-69c80b36a842f2c0f9e45bdd144430dd_m.jpg

  • 9 people dont like fallout

  • Comment removed

  • what an icon :)

  • how old is this? the year? 20s?

  • It's really sad the kids have to learn about old music from video games and television shows. What the hell is wrong with their parents?

  • @RetroJenny not sad at all, because it goes to show that at least we're still learning and finding out new things everyday, we carry the future, and what ever we find we keep alive

  • @RetroJenny At least they're learning about it in some way. Doesn't matter the method of introduction if they learn about it and have an appreciation for it.

  • @RetroJenny

In my opinion that's a blessing, as much as we criticize the media and video games for being empty and diverting are children from real culture, this goes to show that in fact they may teach our youth to enjoy such things.

  • @RetroJenn Far better to find this music through videogames or TV shows than to not hear it at all, surely?

  • We should bring back this music. For real. Why isn't this mainstream?

  • 9 people have missed the like button :)

  • I wish black people were still classy like this, now it's all fucking rap, booty shaking, drugs, thug life, pimpin, gibberish slang, Solja Boi, bagging pants and all this shit I just can't stand.

Not to mention they're obnoxious, I'm not racist we all know most black people get on other's nerves. It wasn't always like that though.

  • @jebril What does that mean, I'm african american and I'm living higher up and fancier than a lot of white people. You didn't have to say MOST "black people", even though I have to admit you're right about them, some of them.

  • @totalawesomness1 Why did you just call yourself 'African American?' Can't you just say black? It's not like you were born in Africa. I thought it was wrong when a non black person says African American and here you are saying it when you're black. It just sounds retarded.

  • @MightyMartel My skin is not black, I do not think of myself as black, and I am from africa. You don't know anything about me so don't try to guess. If anything I'd call myself brown since that'd be my skin color. But no, I call myself "human", since that's what I happen to be.

  • @totalawesomness1 Well of course you're skin color isn't black but now you're just splitting hairs. There is nothing wrong with calling yourself black. Here it just means you're American. You don't hear Mexicans calling themselves "Mexican Americans." Sure that statement wouldn't be false but people rarely say that. Also, if you're from Africa how are you American?

  • @MightyMartel I don't like the general feeling there is to go with being called black, it's just asking for racism. And born in Africa, raised in America. African American I suppose.

  • @jebril "It wasn't always like that though." hahahaha youre stupid.

  • @jebril

You are generalizing people by the color of their skin, look up the definition of racist in the dictionary, truth is that most "Black" people as you call those of a certain skin color are honest and not obnoxious at all. We don't all think black people get in our nerves.

  • Dude I'm 14 (don't ask me how I got my hands on the game), and I have all of the Fallout 3 songs on My IPod

  • @1loudninja Cool story, bro!

  • thanks fallout and bethesda, for re introducing the classics to todays society

  • No one cares how old you are, damn just enjoy the music already...

  • I think im the only 15yr old tht likes this kind of music! o.O lol

  • @Smileyjay2713 No. Your not.

  • @DOCTORxWURZEL thanks :)

  • @Smileyjay2713 I liked this kind of music back when I was 5, and still liking it...I am 13 now...but whatever...I don't see why people bring their age into music....

  • @Gottahavecod456 idk? i was just saying cause alot of people I know wldnt like this! We have our own taste but i think this is better than most crap out these days! :)

  • @Smileyjay2713 Hm, guess so eh?

  • @Gottahavecod456 lol yep :)

  • @Smileyjay2713 Fuck off, holy shit...

  • @Yourfrontallobe lol i dnt even know you!! and I dnt have time for ur ignorance!

  • @Smileyjay2713 Ignorance? And you don't even know how to spell..

  • @Par1ahProductions yes, ignorance bcause u kinda cussed me out and i did nothing to you, and i like to shorten my words, *shrug* oh well

  • @Smileyjay2713 I'm pretty sure you're mistaking me for someone else.

  • @Par1ahProductions my bad, u replied to somethin i said to someone else i think, im sorry! but i can spell :)

  • @Smileyjay2713 Everyone likes this kind of music man. But it's rare for people to listen to it, it takes a video game to introduce us to this kind of music. And that is honestly, pretty sad.

  • @jebril lol it kinda is :)

  • @jebril

Again, why is it sad it just goes to show that video games are evolving as a medium.

  • @jebril why sad? video games is a serious business you know

  • 9 people dislike this song

  • So good to hear.... So relax... Perfect to spend some time in a soft chair with a cozy fireplace and a good wine.

  • So good to hear.... So relax... Perfect to spend some time in a soft chair with a cozy fireplace and a taste wine.

  • i loved this song when I was a child. my parent s played this cut so much that I learned all the words .now my kids love it ! this song is ageless. billie holiday@her best ! easy living !Nothing in life but you! how sweet.

  • this is to cool ------ its a great song to go down the aisle on . the music it tells a story of lifes l ups and downs. and at the end its so mellow the band sounds so melancoly puts u in a sexy mood. they dont make music like this anymore the times were more layed back. to cool------

  • I tried to look up the guitar chords for this song. But I was a little taken back by the difficulty of the chords.I guess the piano is the only true way to play this.Great song..I wish I knew how to play piano .This is the first one I would learn.

  • I'm a dinosaur from the jurassic era and I listen to this music.

  • love classics, and true hip hop that sample good music like this

this is real music... fuck the top 50 of today !

long live billie holiday , i'm easy livin'

  • I love how old people complain about video games being "too violent" or "not art" when the video games introduce old music to young people.

  • @lovelyshadeofred Yeah my dad is like that but because of games like fallout 3 and mafia 2 (just two games I played with this kind of music) I got introduced to this kind of music :D

  • @lovelyshadeofred - with guns... Old music with guns, which is arguably the best thing to improve something with, bacon not withstanding.

  • perhaps you computer gamers should read a bit and find out about the country that you live in and what made it that way. Read about Billie's early days and her death that should put life in perspective- the woman with the sweetest voice of the 20th century ended her days with nothing but the memories of joy whilst singing the standards that she loved. Listen to misery on columbia records, that was ment to be one of her favorites.

  • no matter what, when i listen to this song it puts me in the greatest mood.

also i think the fallout series are a great pop culture contribution in and of themselves.

  • Next Fallout should be in New York or L.A.

  • Next Fallout should be in L.A.

  • I can't believe that I can stay up past bedtime...haven't watched TV...just listening to the greats...John Coltrane, Billie Holiday...Marvin Gay...Diana Ross..Johnny Hartman...Sammy Davis, Jr. on vibes...Awesome

  • @shop4sue TV sucks.

  • @shop4sue great way to spend all night huh? I do that a lot.

  • I love all the songs on Fallout 3, but this one is the icing on the cake...

  • thumbs up if you look and there are no fallout coments.

  • Oh my goodness this is so equisite. I love the lead in before she starts to sing.

  • It's easy to see why Sinatra admired this woman so much. I hope to soon contribute as much to jazz and REAL pop music as they did. If I can, I'll surely be in great company.

  • In the begining is there a clarinet play cause if so i want the sheet music really bad.

  • anyone who likes this song should listen to "fine and mellow" by her as well. there is a video of it on here. amazing song.

  • Best song ever. Thanks, Billie. =D

  • Thumbs up if you like this song outside of the Fallout universe as well!

  • I think Fallout New Vegas has good songs yeah, most of the songs only fit though when near or in Vegas, Though in Fallout 3 the songs of GNR fit anywhere,Bethseda is the a great Industry i believe all their games are beautiful , i think they should center the fallout series in Cities and if they do make something in the country or desert AKA: FO2 , FONV they should add more alacazam to it. FONV is sorta dry. and sketchy about the Settlements - they also need to release Addons for the Comp fast..

  • @49677severman i totally agree. The urban envirment is much more "juicy" if you know what i mean.

  • Angelic voice, charming and easy lyrics.thnx Billie

  • Is that Teddy Wilson I hear on the keys?

  • @toiseywoisey Sure is. Love is style

  • Anyone else automatically get this song in their head whenever a discussion about nuclear war comes up? =P

  • @DrinkFromMyThickDick you need to drink from your thin little dick and then get hung

  • 7 are gay -___-

  • I really love this song.. this will be something I will listen to for years to come

  • Seven people I don't want to meet.

  • 7 people dont have an easy living

  • 7 people were looking for a different Billie or different Holiday

  • @robotbunny69 ..................... no.........

  • 7 people are having a hard life. tsk tsk

  • 7 people are East coast super mutants with no taste in music.

  • 7 people are communist Red China.

    Take me away, Miss Holiday...

  • @JESABEL74 hahaha! They are terminated!

  • I've listened to this so many times inside and outside of Fallout 3, I know exactly when she starts singing to the second, and I can't help but sing along =)

  • @MrCookedPanda

    Same here...this song's epic!

  • Thank you, Fallout 3, for introducing me to such beautiful music! Once I heard this song while exploring the wasteland, I fell in love with it!! =)

  • Can't get much better than this song.
