I wonder what Billie Holiday would think about all this Fallout polemic :D

@meowmixparty thats shitty. you should like it because its billie holiday, not because its fallout. you appreciate it because its good. fallouts just trying to introduce you to it
@TheMitchellBrown I think us Fallout players should get our own opinion. E.g. Im definitely not the only one either so I dont see how u seem to know why we are here. Im not saying the music is bad either because its good in its own way. I would not plan on going to a concert or playing it out to my friends on my ipod. Its kind of a self comforting song you listen to. =D

@mmartine32 I wish i could super-like a comment. Thumbs up isn't quite enough haha. And that oboe at like :28, it's weird, but if you dissect it, figure it out, man. Blows my mind.

i just loved listening to this song in fallout 3. Like i would go on a really high cliff where i could see the sunset, and wait for this song to come up.
It's fun to see that by performing the simple act of pasting a picture of Bille Holiday on this song instead of a picture of a man on power armor (or similar) the uploader disconnected this song with the Fallout 3 game. Think about it- you'd rather listen to this song with this picture than with a Fallout picture, would you not?
You people complain about how "oh yeah i didnt find this off a game" and saying we shouldnt and its stupid, well If I didnt I would've never discovered this woman and found her fantastic music.
I don't know what the race debate is all about but calling someone an African American is really inaccurate considering most Blacks in America aren't from Africa and any other person of another race whos family is from Africa and he was born in Africa and moved to America would be called White, Asian, Hispanic etc not African American.
Also, I agree that video games are a great way to spread art with more people even though video games aren't art in themselves.
I had the most but the best daydream ever! While listening to this song I was Daydreaming that I was going to hook up my laptop to a BIG FAT SPEAKER, put it to full volume and let America hear REAL music.
If you children love this type of music and want it to still be mainstream, just picture today's world like Fallout's alternate timeline. We still live in a 50's-style setting, yet technology has advanced much more. A good, ideal vision, but if it lives up to Fallout's timeline, then we'd all be wiped out by nuclear war, too.
If you think about about it, videogames are one of the few places where people of today can hear music like this. Because radios today all repeat the same "Top 10" song like 10 times every hour

Love Billie and this song, and this American black man was born in New York. If i was born in Africa i'd be fine with being called African American, but I wasn't
@RetroJenny not sad at all, because it goes to show that at least we're still learning and finding out new things everyday, we carry the future, and what ever we find we keep alive
@RetroJenny At least they're learning about it in some way. Doesn't matter the method of introduction if they learn about it and have an appreciation for it.
In my opinion that's a blessing, as much as we criticize the media and video games for being empty and diverting are children from real culture, this goes to show that in fact they may teach our youth to enjoy such things.
I wish black people were still classy like this, now it's all fucking rap, booty shaking, drugs, thug life, pimpin, gibberish slang, Solja Boi, bagging pants and all this shit I just can't stand.
Not to mention they're obnoxious, I'm not racist we all know most black people get on other's nerves. It wasn't always like that though.
@jebril What does that mean, I'm african american and I'm living higher up and fancier than a lot of white people. You didn't have to say MOST "black people", even though I have to admit you're right about them, some of them.
@totalawesomness1 Why did you just call yourself 'African American?' Can't you just say black? It's not like you were born in Africa. I thought it was wrong when a non black person says African American and here you are saying it when you're black. It just sounds retarded.
@MightyMartel My skin is not black, I do not think of myself as black, and I am from africa. You don't know anything about me so don't try to guess. If anything I'd call myself brown since that'd be my skin color. But no, I call myself "human", since that's what I happen to be.
@totalawesomness1 Well of course you're skin color isn't black but now you're just splitting hairs. There is nothing wrong with calling yourself black. Here it just means you're American. You don't hear Mexicans calling themselves "Mexican Americans." Sure that statement wouldn't be false but people rarely say that. Also, if you're from Africa how are you American?
@MightyMartel I don't like the general feeling there is to go with being called black, it's just asking for racism. And born in Africa, raised in America. African American I suppose.
You are generalizing people by the color of their skin, look up the definition of racist in the dictionary, truth is that most "Black" people as you call those of a certain skin color are honest and not obnoxious at all. We don't all think black people get in our nerves.
@Smileyjay2713 I liked this kind of music back when I was 5, and still liking it...I am 13 now...but whatever...I don't see why people bring their age into music....

this is to cool ------ its a great song to go down the aisle on . the music it tells a story of lifes l ups and downs. and at the end its so mellow the band sounds so melancoly puts u in a sexy mood. they dont make music like this anymore the times were more layed back. to cool------

perhaps you computer gamers should read a bit and find out about the country that you live in and what made it that way. Read about Billie's early days and her death that should put life in perspective- the woman with the sweetest voice of the 20th century ended her days with nothing but the memories of joy whilst singing the standards that she loved. Listen to misery on columbia records, that was ment to be one of her favorites.
I can't believe that I can stay up past bedtime...haven't watched TV...just listening to the greats...John Coltrane, Billie Holiday...Marvin Gay...Diana Ross..Johnny Hartman...Sammy Davis, Jr. on vibes...Awesome
It's easy to see why Sinatra admired this woman so much. I hope to soon contribute as much to jazz and REAL pop music as they did. If I can, I'll surely be in great company.
I think Fallout New Vegas has good songs yeah, most of the songs only fit though when near or in Vegas, Though in Fallout 3 the songs of GNR fit anywhere,Bethseda is the a great Industry i believe all their games are beautiful , i think they should center the fallout series in Cities and if they do make something in the country or desert AKA: FO2 , FONV they should add more alacazam to it. FONV is sorta dry. and sketchy about the Settlements - they also need to release Addons for the Comp fast..
This woman is a shit-skin, from the African monkey race. Even god colored them the color of poo poo so that they'd be more easily identifiable when committing their hideous nigger crimes.
Billie Holiday on the end of a nice thick rope, aw yeah.
I've listened to this so many times inside and outside of Fallout 3, I know exactly when she starts singing to the second, and I can't help but sing along =)
hahahah omg the first thing I thought about was fallout but I never thought so many people started liking these type of songs because of it like me haha
@moceanu Old music does not change. Media does. .. Do not blame people about how to start to listen true music... and just be happy they are doing that. Cheers.
im actually suprised of how manny people have fallout 3..i have the game and i love thins type of music ....just crusing through the wasteland lising to theese pimpin tunes,, i wanna got some of them off itunes......i mean theese songs just reming me of a simpeler time when things were normal and not so fucking sycotic.i have afew billy holiday song on my ipod and they are pretty soothingi wanna get the one where it does theese thing e.g. pies are the crustyest and
Fallout 3 actually reintroduced all of these wonderful oldies back to the younger generations. So its no surprise if one can find songs like these in any youth's Ipod or MP3 player..
Thank you Fallout!!!

Fallout 3 actually reintroduced all of these wonderful oldies back to the younger generations. So its no surprise if one can find songs like these in any youth's Ipod or MP3 player..
