I also think that Sneak Peek Previews should come back with Either Telly and Oscar, or two new hosts (or call it something different) and they can profile a few older Sesame Street skits from the past 42 years.
Does anyone remember Alphabet Bates? He would fly a plane above Sesame Street drawing a letter. I remember a couple of times his plane dumped him out! Hahaha! Then he would parachute to Sesame Street, & use his hand to draw the shape he would have drawn. Does anyone know where I can see this clip? Or who portrayed the pilot?
Well,I'll even go farther back!Remember when Telly was Television Monster with the freaky eyes? When I first saw that on my 40 years of Sunny Days DVD,I freaked out!Man,that was scary!
What was the point of "Sneak Peak previews?" People don't go to the movies for the sole purpose of watching previews. What Oscar did to Telly was mean, similar to a child who would pull the chair out when somebody would try to sit down. Doing this could seriously injure somebody.
Here's a coincedence. Ernie imitates the baker at the end. Ernie was performed by Jim Henson. Jim Henson did the voice of the baker. Isn't that something?
Yeah, this is back when Brian Muehl did him, as opposed to Martin Robinson, who does him now. Brian Muehl did Grungetta (who does the intro voiceover here) at this time. Pam Arcerio took over that role after he left the show.
Baby Bear made his debut on December 26, 1991, but didn't become a full time charachter and Telly's best friend until November 1993, when the 25th Season began. Before that he was just an occasional guest. Telly is still friends with Oscar. But doesn't hang out with him nearly as much as he used to. Every once in a while though, they will still do a Telly/Oscar storyline. Hope this info helps.
Don't forget about when Telly's best friend was Juliet, the little girl blue monster who was just as neurotic as he was. That was around 1989 and '90. (She was the same puppet that's now used for Baby Natasha's mother Ingrid)

I also find it a little strange that Oscar used to say 'phooey' when he liked something. Seems like they changed that in the later SPPs.

I wish theyd've had just ONE number ep where the baker fell, but managed to catch all the cakes at the end, and took a bow.

Do you suppose the Swedish Chef made those 10 Chocolate Layercakes? It's possible, since Jim Henson did the voice of the Swedish Chef. lol
By the way, what is it with that kid and wind-up toys. He counts wind-up toys in at least one other of these counting segments.

Not by a long shot. The absolute latest this could be is 1984, thanks to the presence of Brian Muehl.

This has to be an ancient clip, considering the fact that there were bunny ears on the television. ROFL

ICYW, The baker was performed on camera by stunt actor Alex Stevens, who played the werewolf on "Dark Shadows."

And what about Aristotle? A monster who was blind and loved to collect things.
patrickballoonman 2 years ago
Never heard of him. When was he around?
qualmful 2 years ago
Stevens played the werewolf on "Dark Shadows" on occasions from Dec. '68 - Mar. '70.

Oh, you mean Aristotle? He was on SS during seasons 13 and 14.

Oh, I can recall that very well. In fact, that was even referenced this past season in the 'Rahki Road' episode.
