The only way the financial community could walk away with the earnings of the generation who had created the home computer, the internet, international banking on a giant scale, was to create the crisis that would devalue everything they owned...the houses, the 401K's, the stocks, all of it. Devalue the property of the boomers, and take it at discount. That was the way to beat the medical community to the boomes money. Lo, behold, 2008

Given the type of campaigns we are now seeing, and the type of candidates now running for office, a case can be made that there is a moral imperative against voting. Call it "civil conscientious objection", the refusal to participate in a type of slander and money war that has no redeeming value to humanity. So we need a slogan: Use your right to vote to do the right thing: DON'T VOTE.

@gurlsingerfan not voting does nothing but make another persons vote count for more. supporting grassroots movements that promise campaign finance reform support positive campaign tactics and other issues that you support would be a better step. though i am cynical about how much control a regular person actually has over anything politically.

@beniceokay Regular people can have more impact by voting with their money. The powers that feed the political dog and pony show count dollars, not votes. Some ideas: Move your money away from the big banks. Get in a credit union. If you can't, move to local regional banks. NEVER buy a new car, buy used. The same with furniture, houses, even clothing . Bleed them to death, one dollar at a time. Destroy credit cards. One debit card with a credit union or local bank...bleed them.

People just whimper and complain but won't get off their butt and do anything.
It's not brain surgery.
So i f we accept that why not fight them with money?
Average middle class Americans still control a vast majority of the wealth, and power in this country. They just don't know how to use it. I intend to teach them.

@tboshane I am much too old to be a soldiar, have never served in the military, and am sure I come to this discussion from a more liberal position than you would find tolerable. My goals are much more simple and simply stated: PUT MONEY IN YOUR OWN CREDIT UNION ACCOUNT. Followed by (b) buy only what you can own outright if at all possible (c) buy used whenever possible. The steps above will be enough to shake things to the core. I will state my position in a newer post here on this string
