@nsengineering Yes, multi monitor support has been better under Ubuntu than Windows 7 in my experience. It is even better in the coming April release as well.
Well, you are not having the normal Unity running - Unity2D (which you tried) isn't that polished. I like Unity - they improved it so much this in version.
