  • What song was he recording?

  • I officially love this guy <3

  • Comment removed

  • does anyone know the program he is using?

  • @zeroz226 DLR Digital Loop Recorder.

  • British?

  • it is so simple, I love it though, I usually only listen to super complicated guitar solos, but this is so simple and amazing

  • I like this lad. Oh, oh. I'll say no more as this is a public forum. Ah, ah.. Ahem.

  • Is he using the same program that he used with Menomena? If so that means that he made that looping program himself.

I swear, if I was gay...

  • I remember watching painter Bob Ross on PBS when I was a child. He'd make these big jumps on the canvas which looked like he'd ruined what was a beautiful painting. But slowly as he progressed he turned that ugly blob into something awesome. Watching Brent record is like watching Bob Ross paint a snow-capped mountain. They're both awesome.

  • awesome video!

  • just a question, is he gay?

  • @guertin11 I think he's just a big nerd. But more power to him if he is. Wonderful musician either way.

  • @thenamelessavenger agreed Im just trying to figure out some song meanings haha

  • I want a metronome with Brent's sweet voice.

  • This man makes me want to love him.

  • Brilliant.

  • Am I the only one who thinks Brent is a total babe?

"Intuit" was one of my favorite albums of 2009, and I'm psyched to see Menomena live next month.

  • So Ramona Falls is just one guy?!

  • @Gurflob

Yes, Ramona Falls is just that one guy in the video, when he's playing live he's supported by the band Dear Reader. At the same time he is support of this band. The people who support Ramona Falls on the youtube-videos are Dear Reader as well, and by the way he is also the producer of said band (which is in my opinion even better than Ramona Falls). You should check them out =)

  • what song was that he recorded (: this guy is a badass

  • @nickeldog12

its "going once going twice" for anyone else who doesnt know (:

  • @nickeldog12 Going Once, Going Twice

  • Talented people make things LOOK easy. Don't be fooled...

  • Perhaps is he using Ableton Live ?

  • @Hsound He uses DEELER a program menomena made

  • that was the sexiest thing I have ever seen.

  • LMAO!! That is SO funny you said that. I was thinking to myself while watching Brent create that this is the HOTTEST thing I've ever seen.

  • you are the man.

  • anybody knows which program he's using?? would really help me! :D

  • He's using a program called DLR (Digital Loop Recorder, pronounced Deeler). He wrote it himself, so I don't think it's commercially available.

  • ahhh thanks! (:

  • Look how easy it's becoming to record music. This is great because we're going to get such a wide variety of music from everywhere. And when CDs are gone and it's mainly computer files, the world will no longer need record labels. Goodbye, Disney Music

  • Best album 2009 (with The Antlers "Hospice")

  • Yay I love that song. Your show in LA was great!!!

  • Great stuff Brent... can't wait to hear this whole album. I miss seeing you guys play live! I hope one day you'll make it out to Tulsa, OK. There's an interestingly large following of Menomena here that I stumbled upon when I moved.

  • "It's so simple" Sure it is, if you've got such a great talent to write the song in the first place. :)

  • Exactly. A great sense of how to fill in the spaces of previous layers, and how to move the puzzle pieces in and out of each other, how to build and morph each piece.... Cake.

It was truly awesome to see how fast Deeler is in action, though. I mean, it's so delightfully hands-off, allowing Brent to focus on adding pieces to complement each other instead of requiring constant attention from him.

  • @piadox it's really simple !! try it; of course he had the whole thing worked out already, thats why it looks so easy… I bet he tried several different chords and notes- made mistakes- in the different layers before he did knew…

  • Reminds me of that Just For Now live video by Imogen Heap. It must take a LOT of talent to be able to create all that alone.
