States were going to secede i would argue regardless. You have to remember that the percentage of people who owned slaves in the south vs people who didnt paled in comparison. There were lots and lots of people fighting in the war who cared nothing about slavery. It had do to with getting pushed around by the government.

@ETericET Ill give Saddam this, he did a hell of a job getting the blood off of his hands about the WMD's. In the early 90's Iraq had mass capability of making the weapons and Saddam was warned then from the UN and other international organizations to cease the operations. He didnt. He continued with the programs despite all of that. Oh and by the way, we have found over 500 chemical weapons that are considered WMD's. Report done in 2008. We've probably found more than that since.

@ETericET He didnt intend on taking us to war with Iraq. Saddam needed to be eliminated but it wasnt until the threat of WMD's that Bush had to do something. People will say yes but Iran and North Korea have capabilities and have nukes, but we have at least SOME diplomacy with them. They just dont go and tell the UN to screw off. They have a few times, but at least they arent a serious threat, at least not yet.

No one ever said all returning veterens are going to go on rampages, but the government whom employs our military men and women knows that going through active combat does have negative effects on ones mental health. Those who are effected negativly in a dramtic fashion can be manipulated and exploited. The gov. has a repsonsibility to oversee this. But then again there are people who think everythings a conspiracy, these people can't be reasoned with.

It's not a labeling of whole groups, it's saying at this point in time these american groups are the ones that are most likely to be taken advantage of, manipulated, and convinced to commit acts of domestic terrorism. Democrat Administrations will always have the threat of anti-federalist violence. It's not saying they are all terrorist, it's saying the conditions are right for it to breed in these groups.

If domestic terror is the mold, these groups have the moist, dark, musky corners.

I haven't listened to a lot of S. Smith, but it seems like he's less "liberal" than "logical." Honestly, no one can listen to O'Reilly, Hannity, or Beck and believe that they argue in a methodical, adult manner. I don't see, for example, how Smith's thinking is incompatible with either liberal or conservative viewpoints.

good point. the problem with fox news is that they don't give shows to journalists. they give them to commentators. smith is one of the few actual educated journalists they have, and i believe the only one with a show. beck, hannity, o'reilly belong more on a show like entertainment tonight than a show handling any real issues.

shepard smith is known as a more liberal person on fox news, this isn't new, or rare. if you took the time to really watch and listen instead of judging the network by a few selective clips, you would know that already. yes, there is a more vocal conservative slant, there is a market for it that is not being met by other media outlets. having people like shep, geraldo, and greta on fox is why fox can honestly say they are fair and balanced. a conservative voice on msm? now that is truely rare.
