Too bad none of the boys that are alive today have any pictures of what they look like today. They had a reunion 8 years ago i think now theyre mostly all in the 60's/70's.
@gipytoiii They were singing "Kyrie Kyrie Kyrie Eleison" Which is Greek for "Lord have mercy". Sounds gay to you? Well whether it does or not, Isn't it funny how in this movie, the choir boys went from being religious sissies to dangerous savages. Without a gun, I don't think you'd want to deal with them.
"Sucks to your Ass-Mar!'' ahahahha this is wat i thought i heard the choir singing,'' heereeyay heereeyay heeree heeree heereeyay smell my sock!'' lol thts wat i thought i heard
Yeah, I can't differ the boys from each other either... But this clip really makes me wanna see the movie, may even buy it since I'm a fan of the book. And I suggest ya'll read the wikipedia page for the book and the movies, it's quite a read.
The fact that there's lots of boys stuck together on an island amuzes me. I love Jack the most even though he's evil.(He's so attractive) Then Ralph. Then the cutie simon.
We had to some journal entries over this book, and I put in one of them that Simon had moved to the top of my "Lord of the Flies" meter. (which is sorta like a character popularity list in my terms)
I know! Simon needs huggles! Especially with what happens to him later. -_-
I have the choir march on my iPod now... heh heh. And I also made a video on here with it. I'm obbsesses! ^^
no offense to anybody but i like this version much better than the one in 90' ...and by the way does anybody know where i could find the hole version of this ?? ^_^
we watched this in my class! it took up 2 class periods hahaha. i hated the book soo much but our class split up into 2 tribes and did little challenges while "reading the book" so it was soo much fun :D
oh, and samneric are ADORABLEEEEE!! i've never seen boys cuter than them ^_^
Yes, kusha- I couldn't believe it myself. He was too young to see the finished film- it was considered too violent for teenagers- isn't that weird? Perhaps his youthful looks were due to delayed puberty?
the only thing that i actually liked about this movie is the music. can somebody give me the name of the song that jack's choir is singing? this movie skipped all of my favorite scenes and quotes from the book
It's a latin song often sung in catholic church during celebrations like Easter. Not sure if it's still sun often nowadays. I think it's Kyrie Eleison, but that's only a guess. The song doesn't appear to consist of much more than that, at least.
I'm in Y11 and our teacher said that the 90s version is rubbish so we didnt waste our time watching that. I want to see this version though, it looks like it sticks to the original more.
He was 100% correct. The old story: when the US remake a foreign film they usually ruin it because they make what they THINK the US movie-going-public want to see and they are usually way off.
The 63 version was very close to the book and a masterpiece.
I adore this film, I think it's a work of art but I can't help but laugh at the choir when they say their names, the massive gaps between them and the way "'Enry" seems very forceful and "Maurice" just doesn't seem bothered at all. :)
When we watched this in class we were all stunned into silence when Piggy started talking about Camberley. We were all like "OMG, THAT'S WHERE WE LIVE!". We we really freaked out. And everyone wolf-whistled when Piggy said the thing about how "he used to blow and then his mum would come" cause we're immature XD I love the way Percival says "Telephone". Makes me laugh =D
i remember watching this last year in english and some guy in my class thought the choir looked like voldemort's death eaters or something like that lol
anyway, considering it was like 1963 this film was made, it's pretty good :) and so's the book :)
I like it to be honest. Sure the acting sucks but it makes the film seem more amateur. It almost looks like something my friends and I would make. And that isn't a bad thing in my opinion.

James Aubrey ("Ralph") was born in 1947, so that makes him 15 or 16 when he made this film. I can't believe how young he looks!
