the sort of combo he's using , i could use to as a winch on me boat trailer , can't tell me he could'nt use something a little bit lighter to give the fish half a change instead of just winching it in ..
i agree mate, takes all the thrill of feeling the head shakes and tail kicks, but i have heard of blokes that have a fair bit of knowledge who swear by using heavy gear to get the fish in and away as quick as possible???not much fun at all in my opinion and i wouldnt do it myself. But each to their own,and in my opinion doesnt matter what gear your using aslong as Murray cod are released to live another day, wankers are the blokes that slit their throats.
mate if your fishing from a boat the only way you could loose a lure is if a monster fish busts u off a simple 10 once bomb sinker with a clip on it slid down your line will knock a snaged lure off its snag every time
some people fish with gear they have and get gear to cover many types of fishing, we arent all made of money mate, how about you send a combo to old mate to use just incase theres another wanker wanting to have a go at a bloke for using what he has.
I understand your opinion and back you all the way, the lure used was a yellow belly lure that is 55mm long, these lures are designed and made for yella's so to say the lure used was big cod lure is incorrect. Every fisherman who puts in the hours targeting yellas in the close would come across the odd cod as Alan did.We are passionate about fishing and back every law that helps protects our native fish. All native fish we catch are released, closed season or not.
I use that Gear to catch King fish!!

I use that combo because I use Custom lures,,,There not cheep because they are hand made and they work and I don't like loosing them:)
That heavy gear has saved me many snagged lures.

if it not cod season, why use big cod lures and target them, when catching a breeding cod will only cause it unknown damage. not a real clever video.
