Well that was quite entertaining. Love the movement, and the battle was very intense, right down to the wire! Only suggestion, like as already mentioned, perhaps speed up the rolling.

I don't think a "how to" is needed, it's really just a lot of photos/vids and some sound effects. That part isn't so hard. You do need a lot of patience and be ready to spend many hours on the project, that's the hard part, putting in the hours.

It would be nice if you didn't show every roll. Showing cool rolls or ones that had a large impact would be alright, but when it's every roll it just gets tedious and boring. However the stop-motion integrated to the video is really nice, good job on that.

@Nawor666 Thank you. I am creating a new one at the moment, where I will speed up the dice roll a lot and ad more frames to the stop motion part, so it becomes less rolling and more action. That is the most common feed back. I don't want to skip the rolls entirely, I want to find a balance and still show them. I'm confident that my next report will be better and more fun to watch.

Nice report, although I was a little surprised that the Tyranid Prime didn't have a power weapon.

Thank you! I did'nt have a model with a bonesword then, that's just a ordinary Tyranid warrior acting as a Prime, there is no Prime model released. I will create one from various bitz and the warrior-kit in a few weeks though, so next time he will slice marines.

@captaingallas Ah, I see. Fair enough. If it's any help, I've found that a Scything Talon glued to the top of a Spinefist works quite well as a bonesword.

The most common sugestion is to speed it up, wich I will do next time.

Also sugested often is to skip the dice completely, I could use som more opinions on that. My first thought is that skipping the dice completely will make it more of movie and less of a game It would be another type of video, but maybe that's more fun to see?

this wasnt a bad vid not at all.. only problem is a bit long, have you seen any miniwargaming vids? they go into "parts" which go for around 8 mins each... matt from miniwargaming gives a very entertaining vid.. you should watch some and if you already have then maybe do some things he does in a batrep?

And what little constructive criticism I have is this: The dice rolling is unnecessary and you can simply state that they took so many hits and wounds/made so many saves while keeping the image on screen. Also, in case you're wondering what narrative bit I enjoyed and which I didn't: I liked the battle mission aspect, and the narration behind the moves. What I didn't like were how you handled nids. They're silent, and I think it's appropriate to treat them like Necrons now. (i.e. don't narrate)

You, and many others, have given me some good ideas of what to improve in the next one.

I will keep showing the dice rolling in some way, but I will pick up the speed on it and emphasis on the result, it's still a game of rolling dice so I don't want to skip it entirely. Also, I like it when the tyranids sound, although I can skip the commands and just stick to the growls. Again, thank you, your critcism helps me to improve, it's a gift!

@captaingallas Well you see it's more a game about the miniatures than it is about the dice, the dice are just the gasoline that powers the game forward. Saying that you have to show the dice because it's about the dice is like saying you have to show yourself fueling your car because the car is about the gas. You could do that if you wanted, but it's not what people want to see, and when they do it's to laugh, not to be bored out of their mind.

@Emidretrauqe I don't totally agree with you, yes it's about the miniatures, but it's also about dice. I enjoy seeing for say double 1 beeing rolled at a crucial moment, or a bunch of 6s when rolling for wound with rending weapons. Maybe I will show those special rolls more detailed and the basic to hit-to wound rolls in a more sumarizing way. When you really need to roll that 6, IMO, it's fun to see the roll and just not a picture of a 6.

@captaingallas Yes, but you need to weigh the pros and cons here. How much of this video is dice footage? I think you could've shaved 10 minutes off if you cut out the dice rolling and just stated what happened over the images. Because this is a 500 point battle report that turned into a 35 minute video, and I can tell you exactly where my mind started to go numb---the dice rolling.

@Emidretrauqe Yes it's a lot of dice, as I've answered others, this was my first batrep, or second if I count the testversion. It's a learning process. Also, I like to have some dice rolls in a batrep and not just results, and since it will be me making my next one as well, there will be som dice rolls :).  But I will speed it up and skip some of the rolls and show the results some other way. I get your point, thank you.

THIS. This right here is why I play 40k. Narrative. If it weren't for the IP I would've never played this needlessly expensive game. And the battle report style? Let me just start off by saying that we need a LOT more smaller point games out there so that we (or at least I) can focus more on what goes on. This REALLY scratches that itch for me. No unpainted models, quality shots---I liked and subscribed! Keep up the quality work.

Very cinematic and entertaining! A 1500p game like this would be so sweet :D Speeding up the dice rolls would be a suggestion though, a quick freeze frame of the result like "4 hits 2 wounds 1 kill" or something. But really this was much more enjoying than 99% of other batreps !! :)

Thank you! Yes, the dice rolls takes much time, I know, i couldn't decide how to do it. I think it's fun to see the dice and be able to se the result by myself, but a lot of people want it to go faster. If there is a way to show the rolls in, for say double speed, in the program I'm using (MAGIX photoshow) I haven't found it yet. I will find some way to speed it up a notch in the next battlereport I do.
