  • is this really what movie trailers were like in the early 80s??

  • A unjustly underrated movie.

  • was there an "R" rating for this movie?

  • I always adored this movie since 93 when i was 12 watching it on TBS with Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, American Pop and Hey Good Looking, loved them. I even bought VHD and Robot Carnival at 13 on video from one of my city's malls, i taped this movie on an uncut MGM video at 13, bought Heavy Metal when i was 15 and American Pop at 17 as well as Hey Good Looking. These movies ruled!

  • The animation of some of the characters in this kind of reminds me of Disney's Goof Troop.

  • @TheSubatomicCheese

Yes it does and Angel is one fine animated piece of ass.

  • R&R mp3 @ w w w 3.bc.sympatico.ca/jcannon/rocknrule/

  • Also, My name is Mok, thanks a lot.

  • Sounds like the narrator of this trailer is overdoing this. Great flick, by the way.

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Best animated movie ever.

  • It's a great movie, but not much of a trailer- They TELL you about the music rather than really letting you HEAR any of it.

  • i saw this movie years ago. the animation was amazing. the story was a bit weak, adn definitely not for kids, but awesome otherwise.

  • Funny you should say that because I saw this when I was in the first grade back in '88! LOL The music was top of the game, especially "Dance Dance Dance" by Earth, Wind, & Fire!

I was suprised that my brother found the DVD at Best Buy!

  • @SpankRamen2

An 80's and early 90's kid? cool dudette. I adored this movie since i was 12 18 years ago when i saw it on TBS and made myself a copy of it from an MGM rental video on a second VCR off a blank tape when i was 13. Do you also remember other 80's cool adult animated cult classics as a kid like Starchaser Legend of Orin, Black Cauldron, Fire and Ice or even Warriors of the Wind (aka the 1985 New World Pictures edited cut of Nausicaa)?

  • I wish I could say I liked and appreciated this movie, but I can't. I like it in an artistic way, because the animation and artwork is beautiful. But I think the story is a bit of a waste. I'm happy to see "adult animated films" but the story here is a bit weak.

"The Devil and Daniel Mouse" is another animated film from Canada (possibly Nelvana Studios) but it doesn't cut it either.

  • @MondoBeno

Did you ever watch this movie as a kid in the 80's? and do also like other adult animated films like Heavy Metal, Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Beowulf, Princess Mononoke, Fire and Ice, Ninja Scroll, Fantastic Planet, LightYears, Starchaser Legend of Orin, Wizards, American Pop, Pink Floyd The Wall, princess Mononoke, Wicked City,Golgo 13, Fist of the North Star, Watership Down etc.?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I've seen most of the adult animated films. Some of them weren't really "adult," they just weren't meant for kids. Until DVD came on the scene, a lot of them were unavailable, except in obscure independent video stores. That's how I got to see Fritz the Cat, Coonskin, Hey Good Look'n, etc.

During the 80's there were a lot of cartoons with great animation, but lousy plots, and they failed on all levels.

  • @MondoBeno

What is your opinion on Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfend? a very infamous animated shocker from Japan with cult following

  • I think this was only in canadian theaters wasn't it?

  • Iggy pop is definitely mok. i mean they even modeled him after iggy pop!

  • lou reed seems to do his title song though

  • I think he's alittle more like Mick Jagger, but that's just me

  • i agree with you i think Mok is a bit of Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop

  • YES.

  • @tsam170 His name was originally Mok Swagger, but they were going to get sued, So I think they shortned it to just Mok

  • late in the game here (by a whole 8 months) but it IS Supposed to be Mick Jagger, as Mok's full name was originally Mok Swagger. The company almost got hit with a lawsuit so they changed his appearance and his full name was never given in the final cut.

  • When I first seen this movie and saw Mok I thought of Mick Jagger. I first had the VHS tape and the Special DVD which contains two versions of the movie.

  • I picked up that DVD a few years ago but I don't know if I ever actually finished the other cut of the movie with the other voice actor, I should probably get on that.

  • whoa, there's actually a DVD available? i saw this like 20 years ago, i thought it was lost to the mists of time, hahaha. do you know what region it is? would it play in the UK?

  • @bennymourning yes, I just came across it on amazon. Available on Region 2 DVD

  • I never saw this movie I've heard of it though. Isn't Deborah Harry A.K.A. Blondie the voice of 1 of the main characters? & is Iggy Pop the voice for 1 of the characters?

  • there needs to be a proper discography of nelvana projects

  • Forgot all about this flick! Remember this from when I was in H.S.

  • Can someone upload the entire movie? I NEED to see it!!!!

  • Awesome flick.

  • Thanx!!

  • Well, if you check out 'A Cosmic Christmas' uploaded by CatBuckley from whom you can find out more. I'm going to try to get this because 'Devil and Daniel Mouse' is included as an extra. Nelvana is sooo off the hook, I can't freakin' understand how they dropped.

  • Shit. Could you then point me in the direction of more Nelvana projects?

  • I can't remember why I initially balked at seeing this for I KNEW this was from Nelvana (an extremely favorite animation house, I admit it, Canucks!) Probably, because though I love the concept of Bakshi's 'Wizards', the rotoscoping really, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY got on my nerves.
