  • Literal chills

  • Bosoc. What a lipstick wearing cunt. Anyway, the Sean South song...

  • "Knock knock open wide, knock knock come with me through the magic door.... motherf***ers!!!"

  • "Knock knock open wide, knock knock come with me through the magic door.... motherf**kers!!!"

  • Nostalgia's a bitch

  • takes you back doesn't it?

  • Anyone know the name of that guy who recorded a young Ulster girl talking about religion? One of them showed a kids drawing of Jesus driving a car with Adam & Eve in the back. When asked why she had drawn it she said, "It says in the bible that Jesus drove Adam & Eve out of the Garden of Eden" The whole thing was so funny but never seen it since 2004.

  • Brings back memories

  • wow, i havent seen that in about 15 yrs, wonderful memories

  • Innocent days when all was well in the world!

  • 0:20 Hey kids it's hand-painted, wooden Ball in a Cup! Who needs constant electronic video stimulation when there's Ball in a Cup. Toss the ball, catch it in the cup, dump it out of the cup, toss it, and catch it in the cup again. The ball is on a string and attached to the cup, so there's no worry if you don't catch the ball in the cup, and clean-up is as easy as catching a ball in a cup! So why spend another day not catching a ball in a cup when you could be catching a ball in a cup?

  • reminds me of walking home form school, stopping in the shop and buying a bag of meanies and a bottle of score for about 50p, than doing 10 minutes homework that seemed like an hour and a half and than flaking out with the TV as the rain belts against the window. God bless the early 90's and a simpler Ireland

  • ruff, said flaherty

  • Whats the theme music?

  • @inchjoe Bosco.

  • Dem tongue twisters wer a bloody nightmare. Hard to keep up with dem sometimes.

  • when i left dublin 20 yrs ago i brought the video of bosco still have it today... love it now all i need is a video player lol

  • @rikkimarklasvegas why did you take the video of Bosco with you?

  • @Tonyo1221 bosco didnt exist in england and i was only 4 it was my fav show

  • @rikkimarklasvegas haha, sweet . . . you can buy it on dvd from rte.ie if you get desperate . . . :))

  • @Tonyo1221 great i may just do that 22 yrs older now but it still cool thank u !!

  • wwwoooo.. that takes me back

  • *joking

  • My dad once met the woman who does(did) the voice of Bosco and purly koking he said ah hows Bosco she told him to FUCK OFF lol

  • After I had to start school I used to run home to try and catch it on time. I loved bosco like the brother I never had.

  • Bosco was a fantastic show, despite what everyone says. The fact was, it was made during a specific era, and tailored to children of that era. It's not a show that anyone over the age of ten would understand, and nowdays that age has probably decreased to about 5 with the way children are growing up. It taught a LOT to children who watched it, and fulfilled its purpose as an educational show for children of a certain age.

  • Oh ta se go hufasach lol

  • I still don't know.. was bosco a man or a woman..? that was never clear in it!

  • @Queenofmynamesucks Pre-op woman... It was explained in an early episode... you know, before the producers started dumbing things down for the kids

  • @deco9987 hah are u serious?? surely thats rubbish seeing as how ireland only became very PC-ish in the early noughties. Everything else seemed a taboo to discuss hmm

  • Bosco was an evil piece of 80's that told children to take to the sissors with effect. Safety sissors were only in school, remember? Who had safety sissors at home? We were all bould bastards back in that day. Dont give me any shit about being a good un. Thats what makes a family. Even if you dont want to admit it.

  • no way man, its been a long time...

  • That's effin scary. Worst title sequence ever.

  • oh my im sad for my youth! i want it back

  • HELLO EVERYBODY !

  • Memories...

  • bosco.. drove me mental... sorry...

  • Don't apologize. The fact that my kid brother liked this show and we lived in a pre-play station, pre-internet, pre-second-telly-in-the-house era meant that I had to watch this 'Uafasach' show and fantase about pulling the little John Lydon-haired gobshite off from Pauline Lambert's hand and, in front of the horrified dungareed buffoons presenting the show, smash Bosco pancake flat with my hurley

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Really? I used to "fantase" about fingering him to a squirty climax.

Funny how folks differ, isn't it?

  • ahhh my good friend nostalgia!!!! rte should bring back zig and zag!! they were LEGENDS!!

  • He played in her WHAT???!!!

  • loved him wen i was bout 3 shame he got kidnapped lol

  • Yeah, juxtaposed with the news reports of the latest violence in the north. Great times. A real age of innocence and horror if my memory serves me well.

  • Brings on the memories. Ireland was so innocent back then. Great catchy little tune.

  • Ireland was "innocent"? Pull the other one.

  • LOVE it! I still remember jumping up and down in front of the TV when it came on! That was the 80's!! LOL

  • it is quite obvious that you simply are a sad pathetic degenerate who is craving the attention that not even ur mother bothered to give u as a child, and would you blame the bitch!

take care now and if u dislike ireland that much we have plenty of seaside cliffs for you to jump off! lets hope the next we hear from u is in the obituaries

    xxx

  • hahah you fucking owned him fair play!

  • Okay then people: fast forward 20 years, when we have a more "vibrant, diverse, multi pc do-da" nation.

Tell me: how many openly gay presenters does RTE have on its books?

    Answer: NONE.

    How can that be???

  • Em, what's Derek Mooney then?

    And why does it matter?

  • Who cares?! I don't! Love this! xx

  • Ahhh, i just had a nostaljic return to form! I want to go out and roll around in the mud next and look for smurph's and i'm 30!!!!!!

  • Can't believe I used to make up a dance to this and did it every afternoon as the titles rolled in my Gran's front room after school. Happy days :D

  • oh wow my eyes filled up when i heard that music come on! Very happy childhood memories :)

  • Ah Bosco, you loveable androgynous freak. Childhood memories...

  • i nearly choked after seeing the newspaper kid cutouts!!! oh the memories!!

i remember years ago bosco did a stage show here in limerick in front of a few hundred kids, and lets just say it was kinda obvious there was someone operating him,and one kid actually stood up in the middle of the show and shouted 'Bosco, theres someone behind you!!!' it was so horrible but so ridiculously funny!!!

  • bosco i love u x x x

  • i was on the magic door as a kid. got slagged big time for years for being in it. but have to say enjoyed watching these clips! brings bak so many fond memories

  • You where on the Magic Door... You have no Idea how Jealous I am.

That is Class, what did you do on it?

  • a friend of mines father was a film maker. we made about 15 films in total. i think we were one of the first ones to ever be on the magic door ( it was around the time of the gregory grainnog days!!!). there were 2 blondie haired girls and a dark haired girl who usually wore plaits and had lots of freckles!!!! we were about 4. there was one episode where we were doing bark rubbings on a tree!!! anyone remember?!!!!

  • RTE and grim 80s Ireland.Jimmy Quinn's animation too,fun to see it once more. Check my awful quinnsworth ad. The horror...

  • Memories...Bosco theme tune is good but nothing beats Wanderly Wagon!

Does anybody have those "spuds" in the supermarket? Wasn't that a part of Bosco? I'd love to see them again!

  • OMG I made up a dance to that when i was a kid - did it everyday in front of the t.v.

Don't make television like that anymore.

  • memorieS! gowan bosco ya legend!

  • Bosco is a craic addict! I saw him in st stephens green shooting up and begging for change should have a segment called bosco the downfall it all went wrong for him when he started sniffing prit stick!!! slippery slope from there

  • Totally reminds me of my childhood in Ireland. Loved it.

  • LOL Oh my God the memories are flooding back!!LOL

  • Someone please respond!!!

I remember another opening to this that was some male voice singing "come on let's open the magic door with me. With your imagination we'll see what we can see..."

Anyone else remember this opening or was it a closing?

  • That was the segment of the show called the magic door when they went through a big red door to go outside. Knock knock open wide see whats on the other side knock knock anymore, come with me through the magic door, there's videos to be found of it, one staring you right in the face to the right of where this video is playing called 'Bosco - The magic Door", what i want to see is a few episodes of the McSpuds from Bosco!

  • I saw that one. That's not the same. The one I saw, the man sung the lyrics, not said them like this one did.

I swear I thought I saw an intro like that. Maybe I was too young to understand.

  • Hmmm, I'm trying to think of what you might be on about, are you sure its Bosco? There might have been instances where The Magic Door was sung (by that baldy dude, think his name is McNulty or something), and The Magic Door did have tacky music in the background when it was opened. or at the end they usually done a singalong. Maybe its another show you are thinking of no?

  • You might be right. I was thinking this was The Magic Door (also known as The Magic Door Television Theatre), a Jewish educational television series in the Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area. It also involved a hand puppet.

  • Its all coming back!!!!

  • I remember watchin this and live at 3 with dereck and alma. then the den/ the big den!

  • I love Bosco!! This music makes me think back to the good old days of being a kid!

  • bosco was and still is the biz, I wouldnt mess with anyone with dreads like that

  • Wow this brings back so many memories. Do they have a DVD out?

  • Yes this together with the acid dropping Wanderly Wagon crew and then in the evenings Bracken will make a comeback

  • i remember this so so well!!! i luv bosco...bring him back!!!=]

  • Aww so memeries gone by, come back bosco.

  • yes!!!

  • Does anyone have footage of Bairbre who used to be on Bosco? She wore a pink shellsuit and wasn't the chubby Barbara on it.

  • OMG! BOSCO!!!
