They shouldn't have young kids competing against adults. It's not fair to the kids. She is great for a 4 y/o and would probably win competing against kids around her age, but very few kids can sing at adult level.
She's soooooo cute, but when it comes down to it, it is a competition and they're not going to let her win because she's adorable. I think he (Pierce?) was very nice and let her down really gently.

I have to admit, she's a very cute little girl & good for 4 yrs old. However, is her performance worth $1,000,000? Is she actually better than other performers? I think the judges based their opinions on her "cuteness" factor & not wanting to make her cry. They didnt base it on her "raw talent"...if she had that kind of talent, she would've been a child prodigy.
As far as her not being able to carry a tune, her vocal chords aren't fully developed and strong enough yet. But for a 4 year old she's got amazing talent. Most people can't even hold a tune period who are much older. I think with time she will be so much better. But I'm not sure at this stage in her life it's wise to put her in the lime light. That's just my opinion though.

I've seen many-and I do mean many-kids who sound almost identical to this girl. Nothing special about her,really. Yes shes cute and everything, so are most little girls! Had this girl been ugly, the judge would have been a lot more 'honest' with her and the woman in the studio would have said 'he's right, she definitely can't sing.' Appearance makes a tremendous difference in how we judge others, and that's not a problem in itself. The only problem is that for some reason people are taught to deny this fact.
I think it all depends how you take into account her age. I find it extremely impressive for a 4 year old. But if she sang like that as an 18 year old... It wouldn't be very impressive so I don't see why she should win a show where older people compete, because she's not as good as them, at least not yet.

I play in an orchestra myself(We sometimes play along with a quire for kids) and were chosen to join the music class in school in fourth grade, so I have heard many children sing through the years.

Had this girl been ugly, the judge would have been a lot more 'honest' with her and the woman in the studio would have said 'he's right, she definitely can't sing.' Appearance makes a tremendous difference in how we judge others, and that's not a problem in itself. The only problem is that for some reason people are taught to deny this fact.

I think it all depends how you take into account her age. I find it extremely impressive for a 4 year old. But if she sang like that as an 18 year old... It wouldn't be very impressive so I don't see why she should win a show where older people compete, because she's not as good as them, at least not yet.

It's like if i had a 3 year old daughter, and i convinced the hell out of her to sing on stage and she learned to love it...And sang the ABCS....ppl would say AWWW... but it's not that she has 'talent', or an amazing voice, it's that she's a little girl who's cute. @bballchey Perhaps he is a bit mean, but what he says is true. She is cute alright, but her singing is NOT good and she needs to know that so that she can improve on it. If she relies on being cute and stops practising she'll have a very short career. Appearance is important yes, but it will only take you so far without artistic ability.
