The bacterial flagellum was discovered in 1973. Important: the odds of an amino acid forming by itself is 1 in 10 raised to the 250th power. That is a 1 with 250 0's after it. ID theory is looking pretty tough to kill right now. Even NS can't disprove it.

A chromosome is an organized structure of DNA/protein; RNA tells DNA how to function. Now if humans and chimps do not share a common ancestor we should not see the same amount of chromosomes but we do, human chromosome 2 is just that.

When the results of the chimpanzee genome project were analysed biologists found that ancestral chromosomes gene sequence 2A and gene sequence 2B fused to produce human chromosome 2. Where else would the gene sequences come from? Which DNA marker drives it?

The presence of vestigial telomeres. These are normally found only at the ends of a chromosome, but in chromosome 2 we see additional telomere sequences in the middle.

Chromosome 2 thus presents very strong evidence in favour of the common descent of humans and other apes. The evidence proves without doubt the locus cloned in cosmids is the relic of an ancient telomere-telomere fusion and marks the point at which two ancestral ape chromosomes fused to give rise to human chromosome 2.

A complete mtDNA genome of 16,565 base pairs was extracted from a 38,000 year old fossil from the Vindija cave in Croatia. As Krings et al.2007 had done, the authors created a graph showing the numbers of base pair differences for humans,chimps and the Neandertal when compared against humans.
