Why the negativity? It's not great driving, but the car at fault was the black car folowing, as it was too close behind, It too also decded to pulloff left a little too late, the lane it was in also was shown to be for going straight on, but the left turn did also have 2 lanes, so on fairness the 3 lane splits into 2 and 2, making the middle lane for straight on and and the left turn. In the event of a collision, black car following would have been at fault.

Stupid woman in estate car the title reads. Well spotted Scotty, this driver was not in the wrong in any way. I don't know if anyone else noticed but the lane of the red Peugeout estate was marked straight on or 'left'. Not only that but she indicated nice and early and was forced to run wide by the blue saloon that was trying to cut her up on the turn because he was driving both impatiently and too close.
Watch it again, the lane she was in and the lane of the car cutting her up on the bend is clearly indicated as straight on or left. Yes she indicated a bit late but the driver behind had nearly 4 seconds in slow moving traffic to spot her indicating before the manouvre and he failed to notice she was turning. If an RTC had occured on that bend there would be no question as to whom was to blame, and it wouldn't have been the woman in the estate.

Ok I agree that she indicated late and as you said, and she turned in late also. However, she did indicate at 0:08 seconds givin the blue saloon almost 'four' seconds to see she was going to turn left before the manouvre. That may not sound like a lot of time but it is more than enough to back off and let her through.

The bottom line is that you cannot blame her late turn for this near accident as the blue saloon should have been 'expecting' her to turn left at 0:08 seconds so at 0:12 he shouldn't have been that close.
I would agree sirFightsalot that the driver presumed the red estate was going straight on but you cannot say she missed the turn as she did take it, albeit late. If the driver behind thought the red car wasn't going to take the turn they should have backed off until the driver had actually passed the turn. You cannot second guess other motorists, that is bad driving.
We all make slight errors on the road all the time, good drivers compensate for it.
I failed my first driving test when I was 17 because I turned onto a road thinking it was safe because another car had been indicating to turn left and didn't. He carried straight on instead and took the left hand turn after mine so I had to brake hard to avoid going into the side of him.
He shouldn't have been indicating left until he had passed my turn but I was at fault as I shouldn't have assumed he was going to turn left until I could clearly see him or his wheels iniating the turn.
Something I've noticed in busier parts of England (not such an issue in Scotland where I live) is that when looking for a turn-off you're not familiar with you can be cut off the slip road by other drivers who know the area changing into the lane and accelerating up the inside. It's not hard to get caught out but a good driver would have aborted the turn and turned around at the next opportunity instead of diving like this. That's a smash waiting to happen....
Red car got momentarily misdirected on which way they wanted to go. That's why they teach defensive driving....we all have to be ready for the unexpected and keep our fingers crossed.
