  • And from that point onward I decided to study wolves and learn anything I can about them.

  • This is the best story I have ever seen. The story that will make you both smile and cry.I hope that people learned something from the Savtooth pack and I Believe that they mare a difference.I had a close encouter with a wolf when I was 7 he didn't attack nor he was aggresive. He was Just standing there watching me before he regoined his pack.He He turned around once more Like he wanted to say godbye before he vanished in the woodstock.

  • I can't understand why they don't like it!

  • hahayeah

  • This was inspiring. I never though wolves could be so heart warming ;)

  • This is the best movie I've watched for as long as I can remember! I smiled, laughed, cried...over and over. I hope Jim and Jamie know how awesome they are. Brilliant...amazing, adorable. Love it.

  • why would some1 dislike this video? thx for uploading.

  • This was the most beautiful documentary i have ever seen it demonstrates the power of nature but even how with that power over time everything comes to a end the people who started sawtooth camp were the most un selfish people i have ever seen in my life i wish everyone could see this and understand it like i did

  • @foramerica21 .. I am sooooo glad I seen your post! I was about to pass this one up & cont looking for a good video quality of lions lol ..I thought, " eh wolves?? naah" ..but yes this was good! What an amazing couple!

  • @bluepeas510 thanks that means a lot

  • dis made me cry

  • I had this documentary on a DVD, but it was stolen. I tried to buy again, but I can't find. It is a great surprise to see this AWESOME DOCUMENTARY on the youtube. It is a special way to see the wolves and it can be used to protect this wonderful specie. Congrats!

  • this is amazing, thx for the upload

  • Well if the wolves and other wildlife would simply be left in peace, maybe we could ALL discover an actual thriving wildlife in a natural world, instead of having to watch painfully unnatural scientific projects monopolizing animals who didn't ask for anything as well as natural space and selling this propagandistically to the public as a wonderful contribution to 'spreading awareness', 'raising interest', and all these well-known insipid themes...

  • @suddenlyitsobvious ...Except the people who actually do care need support and experience, and this is pretty much the best way to do it short from being lucky enough to be accepted into a genuinely wild pack for a few years and living to tell about it.

  • @tothequasar

Always a 'good reason' for a bad thing. THAT's how society is corrupted and people deceived over and over and over.

Oh, but we must help the poor orphans, we must have stem cells for the sick, we must have medication for Africa etc etc.

And the more all prominents and media are promoting all these good causes, the more the world is looking like a degenerate sewer. Ever wonder why?

These wolves don't need to be studied. What's the point of it?

  • @suddenlyitsobvious Meanwhile there are people completely unaffiliated with the so-called "elite" who are actually making an effort to dispel the myths and ill feelings surrounding these animals and others. Why not go after the people who actually want them gone, rather than those who are trying to protect them? Study is a good thing - the more you know about an animal the less you want to kill it, and this is much more effective and humane than sticking them in zoos.

  • @tothequasar

'who are actually making an effort to dispel the myths and ill feelings surrounding these animals and others'

Why don't you check where the funding for projects such as this one originate from? NOT from an ideal collective of inspired individuals!

    'dispel the myths'

This is just a vague phrase, a feelgood slogan that completely falls short in terms of actually justifying MASSIVE INTERFERENCE and control of these animals.

    'sticking them in zoos'

    Oh, THAT's your...

  • Comment removed

  • @tothequasar

...alternative? Justifying 1 ill with a worse ill? 'Study is a good thing'

Oh really? Then why are there no positive results from the countless 'study-projects' in terms of thriving, expanding populations. We'll see how much YOU'd like being 'studied' if one morning you get shot in your house with a tranquilizer and wake up hours later on another continent in a cage with a microchip in your neck, a cage where you'll be allowed to stay for a number of weeks before...

  • @tothequasar

...being released in another environment with helicopters and scientists tracking your every move and if possible, taking away the young if you manage to mate to bottlefeed them and replace them yet to some other place. I suggest rather than voicing feelgood slogans designed for the gullible, you simply CHECK what these projects really are, WHO funds them, WHAT the actual objectives are, what the mindframe behind them is and soforth.

  • @tothequasar

Science has a VERY BAD track-record in terms of empathy, respect for other creatures, understanding of life. The entire last few centuries are replete with HORRENDOUS animal suffering at the hand of scientists -of course ALWAYS with a good rationale to feed the gullible public. There's also a very serious observer-observed problem involved here, scientists approach life and other creatures from a specific paradigm, from their neodarwinistic, lifeless conditioning.

  • @suddenlyitsobvious For the sake of the users, I beg you to cease flooding this page with repetitive paragraph sized arguments and MAKE SOME VIDEOS. If you have something to say, PLEASE SAY IT CONCISELY. Your method of dissemination leaves much to be desired.

  • @tothequasar

YOU are the one talking to me with bad arguments. Just stop talking and your precious users will be spared.

  • @tothequasar

In reality, this is simply about bringing EVERY SINGLE aspect of life, and of formerly FREE collective space under the control of AUTHORITY'S BOOT -under the guise of science.

Scientists do not have a mindframe allowing them to empathize with other creatures or anything that's alive; it's all about monitoring, controlling, classifying. And for what?!

To SAVE the wof?!? Pfft! You know it's ultimately the same kind of elites who are sitting on the same...

  • @tothequasar

...kinds of boards of massive decision-making institutions and conglomerates who are selling rainforrest orenormous chunks of Africa to 'investors' from China or wherever to do whatever they want with it.

Scientific projects such as this one have no other purpose than to brainwash the public while bringing every aspect of life under authority's control and you'll easily see that THE MORE we hear about 'conservation' and 'study', the less there is to study.

  • @suddenlyitsobvious *facepat* Thank you, but I must go. Into the wild! *whoosh!*

  • @tothequasar

You just sent THIS to me and then deleted your message:

' I said it's better than sticking them in zoos, NOT that it's an acceptable alternative. Suddenly it's obvious where your reasoning skills have gone - you should keep your windows closed.' I think it's obvious to all why you deleted it, son.

  • @suddenlyitsobvious Yes, because I realized it was rather ass-ish and also somehow didn't realize it would make it to you after all. For that I apologize. However, my point still stands.

  • ...animals are STILL TODAY being slaughtered for fun on elite safari's? Because there's no way to stop safari's and poaching? What's really going on here is that the system obviously is NOT interested in having an abundant and thriving wildlife, for one thing because abundance makes it hard to control people. It is merely PRETENDING, and it's all under the guise of 'science'.

Ooh, humanity can learn SO MUCH from these amazing wolves, 'WE' have got so much to discover!! Really?

  • ...what it takes to teach us anything worthwhile about animals. They're inherently disconnected and psychotically ionterested in CONTROL. All these animal projects mushrooming today are about CONTROL of a 'wildlife' that is at this stage so disrupted that we're certainly not seeing wild animals, and the totality of these projects is certainly not making wildlife thrive. If WE are being controlled with security camera's and our mails are being read, how come countless big game...

  • All those scientists studying wild animals really ought to leave them alone. Their findings mean nothing anyway because obviously these animals have been completely disturbed, typically being shipped over from some other country or area, bred in captivity and then released, microchipped etc etc. There's hardly a lion in Africa today that wasn't bottlefed or taken out of its habitat for some 'wildlife protectionb' reason. Of course, there's ALWAYS a good reason... Scientists haven't got...

  • very well brother

  • SO AMAZING & so BEAUTIFUL...

Just: Wowww... ;) Thanks a lot for upload! Greetings from POland.

  • i say that wolfprint jim found (toward the end of the doc) was Kumatz or Locotas...saying thank you

  • I love wolves and dogs. I have two miniature schnauzers. I love them to death. They are the love of my life! I like that wolves and dogs are social animals.

  • This is my favourite documentary on wolves! It was the first that helped me realize they're not all that terrifying! :P

    Thank you for uploading!!

  • Wonderful doc. Way back in the mid 1980's, I was the roommate in a large home in Canyon Country, CA with actor Charles Napier. He had two pet wolves. They were gentle and caring. Still, they were wolves, after all. I worried about my small Bischon dog around them, but they never bothered him. They didn't play with him or vice-versa, but the wolves respected his presence and never attempted to harm him. They were just wonderful animals and Chuck was a great guy who took great care of them.

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful & poignant movie. This is something everyone should watch, especially families. You can not watch this and not be drawn in & touched by the relationship of these two people with a pack of wild wolves. A definite 10 on my list.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this with us.So entertaining as well as educational. You are so fortunate to have had this relationship with these beautiful animals. I truly appreciate you;

    From my heart,

    Barbai

  • I always wondered... what would happen if powerful dog became part of a wolf pack?

  • @MrOsiris771 Haha yeah. And pretty much all other canines.

I'm planning on working at a local wolf rescue this year.

  • Two million wolves exterminated!!!!!! whats wrong with people? When i was in Lebanon, I had a close encounter with a Wolfe...its eyes changed me.

  • I have a question...Why would they put together a wolf pack just for them to die off one by one? I understand they wanted to study them, but the pack died out. So I feel like in all it was almost worthless.

  • the original pack died out.. but new wild wolves remained

  • Best documentary wish to see more docs like this in the future :)

  • T_T mataki.

  • am i the only one who thinks ZOOs just humiliate wolves by placing them behind glass or fences? or people who buy wolf puppies or wolf/dog hybrids thinking they can ''tame'' them.

no matter how cool it would be to bound with a wolf and ''owning'' it it's just not fair for the animal, they are born with a wild heart and belong outside with a pack.

plus it is dangerous, not only for you but also for themselves

  • Loved it,Loved it!!!

  • Beautifull.........need no more words...Thanks for sharing!

  • Moc moc děkuji za tento dokument.I love wolves.Jim a Jamie Dutcher jsou úžasní.Je to lidský film,je to inspirativní film,je to teacher,I am happy.Thanks.I hope that Wolves rest vivre. It was beautiful.Děkuji.

  • do you know the name of the documentary about a pack that had been seperated from its alpha wolf by a forest fire? im pretty sure it was done in yellowstone...

  • "two species long regarded as mortal enemies"

Thats ridiculous, theres hardly a bond out there known to be as close between two species as man and dogs (/wolf)

  • @12345JJBB Wolves...aren't dogs. Given recent history wolves and humans had been mortal enemies.

  • @Bleedingclaw oh yeah good point

i thought wolves were like coyotes, instead of mortal enemies with us they generally mind their own business, seems like a gross overstatement

  • @12345JJBB I see what you mean. Wolves do mind their business, it's the humans who haven't. They made wolves enemies at that time, poisoning and killing animals for what they ate, and for their fur.

  • @12345JJBB Dogs are not wolves. Wolves are not dogs.

  • @skaterbasist you suck at skating and you suck at playing bass

  • @skaterbasist can you tell me why you think this? would like to know because am interested in both dogs and wolfs and it would be a great help ? thanks!

  • I hope, the filling of having a natural life "with out fear" and hopeful be protected for every individual alive.

  • great work. although it seems like too much interaction between human and wolves.

  • @Imprezziveness These wolves were never placed in the wilderness

  • I am glad to see that the wolves were allowed to live in a place where they are respected and not seen as trophies or the devil's dog. Being allowed to live with the Native's gives them an even better chance at life, they will protect them from poachers.

  • This was amazing!
