Pixar was founded as a computer and software vendor. The movies started as a way to showcase their products. I love how, retrospectively, these basically lucky people have been turned into visionaries.

The GUI and the mouse were invented at Xerox Parc in the early 1970's. Steve Jobs visited and saw it there. Apple have invented nothing.
